  1. Uninstall HX Edit first. Disconnect the USB cable from your HX device and then download and reinstall HX Edit 3.0 again leaving all checkboxes checked. Hopefully it will install without error and then connect properly and consistently to your HX device after reconnecting the USB cable. If it doesn't swap out the USB cable and start experimenting with trying other USB ports.
  2. Not a Mac owner so disregard this if it does not apply but I notice in this screenshot that you have the "Open With" DiskImageMounter option selected. Have you tried the "Save File" option to save the file to your local drive and then try opening it from there? Seems like maybe it is not mounting the right file.
  3. Yup, pretty basic stuff here. Ideally the firmware and software should automatically update in tandem. In lieu of that the messaging should be unambiguously clear and obvious as to what step needs to be taken to match the two. In the case of the latter approach you might have HX Edit refuse to function if it detects a firmware mismatch and just put up a dialog box telling the user which version of HX Edit they need to download and install.
  4. Strange, I did not get this error. As you noticed your firmware is still showing 2.92. What I might try (take backups first): Roll back to HX Edit 2.92 Try to upgrade the firmware to 3.0 from within HX Edit 2.92 If that doesn't work download and reinstall HX Edit 3.0 Download the Updater and the firmware Flash file for 3.0 Do a manual firmware update to 3.0 Still not working check/change USB cable and/or ports. Reboot computer. Consider doing a Helix global reset.
  5. Don't want to neglect thanking Line6 for the new firmware. Just awesome! You guys did a magnificent job during a tough time! Thank you! Poly - Wow! That's right, I said it. Poly! It's your birthday! Just unbelievable that this was added! Need more synth now please. How great is this! Raised the bar for your competitors. What a bonus! Thanks! Running on............................................................................................................ Favorites and Defaults - Incredibly useful! "True" preset spillover and lagless preset swiching - Fantastic for users who need to have preset switching on the fly. Personally I find snapshots get 99% of what I need done but a great option nonetheless. Would be perfect if this could be set in individual presets instead of global settings. Impedance at first active block option - Yeah, way to put this one to rest! Makes it easier to set and forget the impedance setting when your first active pedal expects other values than 1M. Min/max Value Indicators and especially Gain Reduction Meters for Input gate - Nice! Some useful visual info. Tuner and Gain Reduction Meters in Native - Great additions! Artists Presets - Should be fun to check out New Manual - We know it was a major documentation effort and hey, I needed some new pandemic reading. Horizon Drive - Great to have! The New Splash Screen - Diggin' it! Acoustic Simulator - Another great addition! Other stuff yet to get to - ?
  6. You have to both download and install HX Edit 3.0 as well as updating your firmware to 3.0 (which can be done from within HX Edit).

That is unbelievable. It was updated today so also as you point out, current. Should put the issue in perspective for Line6 users. When Apple has knocked this many device manufacturers off their game unless there is some super compelling reason to force them all to rewrite their code Apple should probably fix this. Quickly!
  8. Couldn't agree more! Posted this when the first version of HX Edit showed up that allowed the firmware to be updated from within it. Ideally the next release of HX Edit will have an update process that, when invoked, will automatically update itself to the latest HX Edit version and only after that completes successfully does it update the firmware. Not for lack of trying but no amount of well-intentioned efforts to inform people to download/install the latest HX Edit version before updating the firmware has been successful. Until the update process is fully automated every firmware release should have a blinking orange neon notice in 72 point font on the forum page and at the top of the downloads page that says: "Download/install the latest/matching version of HX Edit first!!!"

It probably is a fair guess that that they are prioritizing fixes as I mentioned earlier for what they deem the most common or mission critical software/firmware/hardware even if they are not "lining up all the many, many producers of software". I would think if you are Apple or Microsoft and your new OS broke the operation of every attached HP printer in the country, or enterprise level software like Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, they would get priority over L6. It is probably a safe bet that there is some prioritization going on regarding where the most significant pushback or even potential loss of revenue will come from. One of the ironies is that the enterprise software that probably receives a higher prioritization is often used by very cautious large corporations who actually take longer than individual users before they upgrade their OS. They often employ rigorous certification and testing that can take months or years before they upgrade. At least that has been my experience working in anything but cutting edge technology companies.
  10. Heh coincidental, now you are really bringing me back! That exact Tascam model is what we used to record those vocal and guitar tracks through the X100 that I referred to previously. Not to belabor the point but the X100 can really do some interesting Lo-Fi things to a vocal track. Recording equipment has gotten a lot better and cheaper since then but I loved the cut we managed to wrestle out of those early devices. Buried in storage somewhere on a four track cassette tape. Lost in the mists of time long before the age of the internet. Btw, nice playing on "Always With You Always With Me". Rhythm sound a bit like Andy Summers(can anyone match this tone? Grin!) arpeggiation.

I think assuming the best is probably the way to go. That and everyone exercising a little patience. We know where L6 is right now - beta testing a massive new firmware revision. Having a major new OS release come during that can really stretch resources. It is a little like having the foundation ripped away while you are building the third level of a house. I would say there is about zero chance though that L6 is going to leave users hanging too long when HX devices are still flying out the door. I think current and future users can rest assured this will be fixed; whether it comes from Apple or a workaround from L6.

I would think OS developers do at least some cursory testing with some of the more popular or mission critical applications, hardware, or peripherals when they roll out a new OS version. No way they can test everything though and no reason to assume HX devices were included in whatever they did test. For the most part I agree, it is upon the shoulders of application/firmware developers to as you say take advantage of early access to the new version of the OS and make the required adjustments. As has also been pointed out this is why it is so important for application/firmware developers to avoid taking shortcuts by for example sidestepping API calls/methods that can come back to bite them in the a$$ in a subsequent OS version. Sometimes the problem is something the OS developer broke, intentionally abandoned, or failed to include in the new version, or perhaps a change necessary to continue the evolution of the OS and everyone who plans to stay current or even operational on the new OS version is simply forced to update their application/firmware. I have been caught a few times too many between various software/hardware/OS parties, all of whom adamantly insisted the other party was at fault only for one of them to hangdog back into the room after discovering they were the culprit. The upshot is I hope L6 and Apple get this sorted out quickly and soon regardless of who needs to provide the remedy. Telling people not to upgrade their OS is a less than desirable strategy. I am sure L6 is working on it.
  13. Referring back to my earlier post the manual page he details in his video mentions "Cln2" as the setting for use on vocals.
  14. Love the sounds that came out of the X100. Thanks for putting the IRs up. Amazing guitar tones for a headphone amp. Strangely enough years ago I also recorded some vocal tracks through one. They give vocals this fantastic sort of phased/chorused sound when set properly.
  15. Although I didn't find one specifically for the HX Effects & GR-20 you may find these videos helpful in getting things set up.
  16. "Polyphonica", wasn't that the Who's unreleased followup to 'Quadrophenia'?
  17. You may have noticed that only the Left output automatically sums to mono so you may need to adjust your blocks/routing to route properly only to the Right output.
  18. This ^^^^^^!!! I would be doing a factory reset, reinstall of HX Edit as well as checking every cable and whatever I was using to monitor before even considering cracking open the case. Reaching out to Line6 to find out their fee if any for a repair if it even requires one is the best way to go before using a third party.
  19. Much as I would love to get 3.0 early what with my rigorous pandemic schedule of nightly gigs, hanging out with friends, eating out at restaurants, and traveling the globe, I just don't have the time (heavy sarcasm) :-) Seriously though I think it's great that Line6 is inviting in a larger group of beta testers. I can think of several frequent and particularly technically adept contributors to the forum and TGP who would probably be quite good at it. Getting the firmware/software out to some of the user base to find bugs should prove quite helpful as that wider pool will use the equipment in ways that a small test team might never think of or have the time for. Nothing like an end user to find a way to make something break. Honor those NDAs people but I'm here for you if you feel you just gotta have someone to confide firmware details with (just kidding emoji inserted here). I promise not to tell anyone :-)
  20. Sorry don't have MacOS 11 to test this with. Although it could be an issue with HX Edit on OS 11 it certainly is worth taking a backup and trying the global reset unless you already tried at some point after your quoted post. https://helixhelp.wordpress.com/reset-options/
  21. Not sure I have all the details of what you are trying to achieve here and don't know whether your iPhone has a headphone jack or just a lighting connector but here goes. No camera kit or Sonic Port required - If you have an earlier model iPhone that has a 1/8 headphone output then rd2rk's solution above might be the one for you. Simple and minimal fuss. See video below for additional HX Stomp routing and settings tips. Using the Sonic Port - For a later model iPhone lacking a headphone jack, perhaps you are thinking of using the Sonic Port as a substitute for an Apple Camera Kit or lightning to 1/8 headphone adapter. Using this method I would think you could still use a 1/8 stereo splitter to dual 1/4 cable as rd2rk suggested. Run that cable from the 1/8 headphone output on the Sonic port to the stereo returns on the HX Stomp. Conceivably with this setup you might, in addition to playing music tracks, even be able to plug one guitar into the Sonic Port input and other(s) into the HX Stomp. Craziness! Again, the video below will provide routing and HX Stomp settings. Using an Apple Camera Kit - Also for a later model iPhone an alternative to the Sonic Port if you are just trying to play music tracks from the iPhone and plugging your guitar into the HX Stomp, you could use the iPhone camera kit for going direct USB to the HX Stomp. That seems to be a fairly elegant way to play music from the iPhone to the HX Stomp. Take a look at the video below, starting at about 2:53 in, which has several methods for connecting from an iPhone to an HX Stomp. The solution using an Apple Camera kit and USB is towards the end of the video. The video will show you the proper routing and HX Stomp settings. Then I would think it would just be a matter of making sure your routing/settings on the HX Stomp are delivering signal to the Stomp's headphone jack. Lastly, take everything I suggested here with a huge grain of salt. Any or all of it could be bollocks as I own neither an HX Stomp nor a Sonic Port :-) More than happy to defer to someone who owns both these items. Anyway, I would start by watching this video starting at 2:53 in to get some ideas on how you want to connect your iPhone, with, or without the Sonic Port.
  22. @Vwuchykey I generally don't expect the Helix to compete in every area to a device that costs way more but I have to admit I get a kick out of hearing that Native compares so favorably to the AXE FX3 in the sound department. Nice writeup!
  23. I know this post is a bit old now but have a question for phil_m. Is it possible to transfer a Native license to a different user? I read through Line6's "Helix Native Terms and Conditions" license discount but could not find anything regarding license transfer. Maybe I missed it. To @wismanus - It sounds like you already contacted Line6 support and they may have already answered these questions but if it is possible for the person who sold you the LT to transfer their Native license to you the easiest path might be to contact them and offer them the discounted price they paid for Native to transfer the license(if they are willing). If you have already attempted to negotiate with the original buyer or a transfer is not allowed I certainly understand your frustration @wismanus and sympathize but do not agree with warning other users to "avoid Line6 products". The best thing that can be conveyed to other potential buyers for a used HX device is that if you anticipate using Native make sure to ask the seller if they already used the Native discount and act accordingly. I don't think Line6 is behaving poorly here as this is pretty much what I would expect of any company if a discount on an additional product has already been used by the original purchaser. Line6 licensing practices seem to generally be eminently reasonable and better and easier to navigate than many other companies I have dealt with. However as an assist to prospective used HX device buyers, "have you already used the Native discount?", is definitely one of the questions they need to ask of the original owner before buying as it may justifiably figure into the price they are willing to pay if they plan to use Native. I realize this info may not be much use to you after the fact and a bit of a bitter pill. If it's any consolation we've all been late(or early) to the party on a variety of products/services/companies and ended up missing out on some promotion. As an earlier adopter I'm still waiting(and doubtless will be for eternity :-) for the free backpack that some later purchasers were lucky enough to get a bundled deal on. If you ended up keeping it the LT is still an amazing device :-)
  24. Have you experimented with all the available USB ports? Have you uninstalled and then reinstalled HX Edit(make sure you reinstall the version matching your firmware version)? Have you done a global reset per datacommando's suggestion? It is easier to assist if you list off what you have already tried.
