Yes! Glad someone else has the same problem. It's weird that we can't get enough volume vs others who seem to have way more volume available than they can stand. If it was close, I'd say it's just a preference thing but that isn't the case here.

That's a bummer. Headphones are brand new, I'll try on something else to rule them out. Helix is out of warranty so hope the amp is ok.

Good idea. I do like it loud but I'd think if it were just a preference thing others would be in the same boat or at least close to maxing it out. I can't be the only guitar player that likes a little volume.

Sometimes even all the way up and amp channel volume at 10 isn't loud enough and I have to add a gain block at the end. Headphones are beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm.

I'd say it depends on the seller. If it's Sweetwater I'd have no problem with it and believe that they just updated the firmware. Anyone else and I think you are absolutely right to be upset. Open box = I assume it's returned electronics that the company is selling as new. Especially considering you specified ion the order that you didn't want open box. Return it and get what you want.

Just saw this. Not sure cumbersome is the right word, there are patches I use that use all 4 lanes so I don't have one to spare for vocals.

Compressors have a threshold and isn't that what differentiates them from a gain or eq reduction? So at lower volumes, before the threshold is reached, the frequencies would not be attenuated, but at higher volume the multi-band compressor would essentially act as an EQ in that frequency range. So the difference is having control of at what volume (threshold) a frequency range is attenuated. ...is my understanding. Not cometely sure if this would be good or bad when we're talking about taming highs and lows in a cabinet model.

That's what I thought, but just checking. Would still like to hear from him in case I'm missing something. I'd love for there to be a feature to be able to use the mic in some patches without a path by bypassing straight to an output.
