  1. I've seen it discussed before but is there an ideascale topic I can vote up? It would be great to be able to (by patch) route a signal coming in to one of the Helix inputs directly to one of the outputs without using up a path (1A, 1B, 2A, 2B...). This would be useful for many reasons, including routing MP3 or backing tracks to the output without using effect block space, routing vocals through the Helix with effects for some patches and without effects for the rest, etc.
  2. I totally agree with this. The desire for a true vs buffered bypass option should be addressed completely separately, and would not be very useful in my opinion.
  3. Nice write-up, was going to skip it due to length but glad I didn't. Voted!

    Reverb sound

When you run it parallel with the dry signal, do you mix the effect 20-50% or 100% wet and then mix at the signal splits?
  5. Looking for some tips or ideas for getting close to the synth sounds in the intro of Uprising by Muse: I'm sure I can get something pretty close with Helix or at least really cool/interesting that would fit. I tried working with the 3OSC, but really have no idea how to use it and it didn't track well enough. I'm thinking some use of pitch shift/harmony effects, and some delay and/or reverb to beef it up and give it some atmosphere, but I haven't used delay like that before and could really use some advice. Once I get this nailed down I'll be working on singing it while playing which is a whole other mountain to climb. Matt Bellamy is a beast!
  6. I agree it would be nice to control from a tablet. I don't agree that using on an ipad during a show looks cooler than adjusting a pedal or rack.
  7. Can you show some examples of this? Or maybe you often mis-read posts (he was talking about a Mackie forum) and respond in a snarky way?
  8. Better external routing options would be great. I'd love to run a mic through the Helix to add vocal effects to certain songs, and bypass straight to the output for everything else. Right now I'd have to add a signal path for all patches, most with no effects, just to get the desired vocal effects on the very few patches I'd use it on.
  9. I use EON 615, interested in the 610 for a smaller, more portable monitor. How do they compare? Would a 610 hold up on its own for practice/jamming/rehearsal without going to the PA?
  10. What if you change one of the presets? Do you change the other 2?
  11. I'm sure many or most out there just use one, but for those of you that use two or three depending on the situation, how do you set up your Helix? My presets are a mix of amp, headphone and FRFR and its a pain in the butt to set up the (modeled) amp and eq settings and output when the preset you want to use doesn't match the output device. I need to spend a little time setting things up, and I'll probably end up with 3 copies of each preset. What do you all do?

This is my biggest and really only complaint about the Helix. I'd love to sell my Whammy but the Helix just isn't good enough in this area.
  13. Tighten the bolt in the side:
  14. So you've been lying this WHOLE time?! I just bought 2 pairs based on your advice! $800 in the toilet... Just kidding. Great follow-up and info. Really wondering why someone hasn't tried to (or been able to?) put out some quality low latency headphones in this price range.
  15. Didn't know USB-B in general didn't power out! Thanks!
  16. Thanks man, I do appreciate your opinion on these and they are definitely something I will try to check out and see for myself.
  17. Didn't think so, thanks.
  18. Doesn't seem that way in this thread. For me: Option 1: Bluetooth - Too much latency Option 2: Cheap Wireless IEM - Poor quality Option 3: Seinnheiser Wireless - (Maybe) too much latency, expensive Option 4: Expensive Wireless IEM - Expensive
  19. Can they Helix USB port provide power to charge a small device (Bluetooth receiver or maybe phone)?
  20. Bluetooth would be ideal in my opinion. Wireless music from any phone, etc. They have it on the Firehawk 1500, too bad it was left out here. Obviously not addable in a F/W update. I might add a small receiver and attach it somehow to the Helix. I'd still have the inconvenience of cabling to the jacks and having to add the input to every patch. Adding a global setting for the Aux in assignment would probably get us all pretty close to a workaround for what we consider ideal.
  21. You guys are awesome! The Sennheiser RS185 are way more expensive than I wanted to spend... but maybe worth saving for. Any others?
