Upgrade process is clear as mud, as usual.

I thought I understood until I read this. Why not just play it in the higher key?

I just went through and memorized the few global presets, rebuilding presets right now so I think I'm good. Still stand by that the lack of a clear process to update makes it feel like amateur hour. They couldn't put 10 minutes into clear instructions for backup and updating with links to the files? WTF?

How do I back up global settings?

Thanks, really appreciate the response! Is it just me or are there some very simple changes the forum and Line 6 website should do to make the update process much easier/more obvious? There's a sticky for 2.50 but no link in the thread to the download files, and no instructions in the sticky or the download pages. it would be so easy to clean up the link you gave me to make it an easy to follow no-brainer process.

Having trouble finding the step by step process for backing up and updating to 2.50. I'm not even sure what I need to install (Updater/HX Edit updates?).

I just downloaded the trial version and was going to load it on my DAW, but it looks like it needs a network connection to work? I have no internet on my DAW, it's not available. Does this mean I can't install it? What about the full paid version?

Icons are a great idea. Having a visual icon that looks like the component queues your brain to what sounds you can expect. It's also just looks cool :)

So what's the deal with the reverb changes we're getting with the next upgrade? Are they going to be the same reverbs, but better? Or a whole new set of reverbs? Are Delays changing too?

I guess I could try that, but the nice thing about splitting is you can share effects on both paths without having to duplicate on each path and use double the DSP for each effect.

Looking for some tips or things to look for that might be causing mid-gain amps to sound muffled. I'm not sure how to best describe what I'm hearing, other than it lacks clarity, maybe too bassy, or lacking in high end. I'm playing a Fender Strat with 60s custom shop single coil pickups in neck and middle, SD lil-59 mini humbucker in bridge. Helix runs through mixer to JBL EON 515XT powered PA speakers (left and right). My signal path generally looks like this: Wah- Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals (split to Path A/B) - Path A - Jazz Rivet 120 (set clean) - Mesa IR (Merge) Path B - Matchstick Ch2 (or other, set mid gain) - 4X12 Greenback Cab or IR (Merge) - Reverb, delay, loop Clean sounds are great. For mid gain sounds, if I switch over to Path, I get some of the muddy/muffled tones I'm trying to fix. If I split 50/50 so my signal is running through both amps in parallel, it sounds great, and that's what I do now. Just wondering if there's something I should try to get more out of the mid/higher gain amps on their own.

Mission expression pedal is incoming! Thanks to this board I took advantage of the $69.99 Line 6 deal and the order shipped yesterday. Now that I know the Mission footswitch will be useless for a floor helix unit, I'm trying to decide how I can best use it. My typical setup uses the onboard exp pedal for wah (engaged when I press the toe button) or whammy (engages with one of the regular footswitches). How do you all use your second exp pedals and what should I try out with mine?

I order the footswitch one yesterday but it was the same price as the non-footswitch thanks to the other thread with the link to the Line 6 deal (69.99!). Guess I don't need the footswitchable one but shouldn't hurt.

I'd like clarification too (but it sounds that way to me).
