  1. Thanks for your posts and vids, I pick up a tip EverytimE !
  2. No because that would send stage mix back to FOH through my helix xlr feed.
  3. Thanks for this link, on iPad now so will download it tomorrow and give it a try. The output is the key to not send the aviom band mix back to FOH along with my guitar signal from helix xlr. Note I'm using summed mono left xlr for FOH. I turn my stage mix channel off and monitor through helix headphone jack so my guitar is stereo in my mix. My route 2 is only active with the loop and set to 1/4 out so stage mix is only in my ears. The other effects on that path are just parked there while I find a solution. I appreciate your posting a possible alternative routing option.
  4. This is my work around for now, I don't have enough dsp to add an additional loop to try the above....
  5. I agree, kind of the same thing I am suggesting here. http://line6.com/support/topic/14497-helix-ideascale-community-submissions/page-12?do=findComment&comment=184519
  6. Phil, It would be helpful for personal stereo monitoring in a silent stage application. It sounds tighter and you play better IMHO. It could be accomplished in an effects loop state or the aux in like the Kemper description below. I think the effects loop might be better as I would bet there are many folks utilizing both the guitar in and aux in for a 2nd instrument. I have a super serial patch to accomplish this now but then you can run out of dsp pretty quickly with the blocks I'm using. I was able to add the vintage delay once I removed the preamp and switched the 2204 Mod to the Litigator. You can see them parked on 2A along with an EQ and LA Comp that I can't use with this setup due to the DSP limitation. Since I am not using the 1/4 outs it mutes the signal to FOH. From the Kemper Manual- The Auxiliary Input function allows you to feed a stereo signal, such as a mp3-player, into your Profiler to play along with it. In the Output/Master menu, the Auxiliary Input function is equipped with three controls: one to feed the aux signal to the main outputs as well as S/PDIF OUT, and two others to feed it to the Monitor and Headphone output. This allows you, for instance, to add an additional monitor signal to your headphone output, while the main output stays unaffected. The auxiliary signal will not be affected by any internal effects. 7. Effects Send Return Output Option http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Effects-Send-Return-Output-Option/860457-23508 Allow for the option to set effects loop output to an off state for 1/4" or XLR or both helix main outs. This would offer a variety of Helix personal monitoring options when using Aviom or similar on stage monitoring system. Please vote this up for those of us on a quiet stage. This setting would allow for stereo personal monitoring via Helix headphone output while the block input is fed from the onstage mixer. The muted output would not send the full band mix back to front of house via Helix. This could also be accomplished if the Aux input on the Helix had an output routing option which likely might be an easier implementation.
  8. You need to go into your global settings/preferences and set it appropriarly.
  9. Wanted to share a quick story on today's gig. L6 customer service recommended this approach in response to my IEM Aviom monitoring question I had posted. Tweaked my main patch I was using to work with ss template (10 minutes) and boom! Stereo personal monitoring with aviom mix into effects returns, great for P&W or any one else with a quiet stage requirement. FOH only gets me, don' forget to mute your channel from the aviom feed. The other guitarist toaster and my helix sounded amazing together. The FOH mix was identical for both rigs, flat EQ and input gain. The other guy is a professional and he was totally impressed. Thanks DI, Frank, Ben and all those that we don't know by name responsible for this great piece of gear. His name is digital igloo right...!
  10. Dang, thought I was special,..lol. Just the fact that U answered me directly awesome! Now, I really need that aviom routing for this weekend! Pleeeeezee!
  11. I agree I should have put it there a few months ago. I even called L6 about it and had a great conversation about the serial approach. The Kemper boys got this feature in September 4.2.012 release: separate controls for Aux In into headphone output, monitor output, and main out. This makes complete sense and I think we will see it in Helix very soon. ;) I quietly spoke about programming my boss exp pedals backwards and then boom! I think DI added the inversion feature just for me :D
  12. ummm, bump from another post....just say'n...add the option to assign the aux in or effects loop output to headphones monitor out only. This would allow for personal monitoring without sending aviom mix back to house from helix. Why?....It would give allow a guitar mix in stereo for a fuller overall mix. Super serial can accomplish this but I'm a little lite on DSP with my ambient blocks and Ir's. :)
  13. "Very cool, thanks! I just use Youtube right now for breaking down fast licks which allows me to slow down to as much as 25% tempo without pitch change but this is a very flexible app. I could see that looping function being really convenient and I like the way you integrated it into the Helix." You tube to slow tempo without pitch change? Please tell me more, I do not see where I can do this. Thanks!
  14. Yep, really nice tones! PRS 22 57/08's vol 8, tone 4 - Matrix FR10. Helix was better than beach volleyball tonight!

    Tuner

FWIW, I just mute the strings I'm not tuning and have no issues. All the above is interesting though
  16. I would suggest this! :D Matrix FR10 Rocks with my Helix!! Just call Andy, very cool dude.
  17. Just say'n, I will be there for the Helix Rep deep dive. Anyone else??
  18. Nice call! copied patch to a/b and yours is less shrill for sure. RRMark, I came so close on the ACLR, I would keep tweaking and try diff guitars. I'm after the warm sound too and the new matchless is very cool but I'm staying on this amp for now. Trying to build presets with same amp with diff tonal settings for different guitars. Using a PRS 22 with 57/08's but I love the sound of my custom 24's dragon II's [i know..] but trust in your ears as the post above says. "Anyone / Everyone" agree with global low cut at 80 to 100Hz? Phil_m, we never connected on Skype but appreciate your feedback on this as well. texasdave and and that crazy good monster pedal guy ruby topaz on TGP with the LA Studio comp suggestion before the reverb and delay at the end of the chain is a must. Thanks! BTW, I was on the preorder at Sweetwater, never have had even one issue with updates, resets, reboots, blah blah. Helix kills.... Also, Line 6 Helix tour in Phx on the 11th at GC? Gotta go...wonder what rep will be there??? Also took presence to 2.8 :D
  19. I have read a few posts with some suggestions on global eq and IR eq settings. I think it would be helpful for more input from users on there settings. Obviously will depend on FRFR vs a tube amps power input and so on. Im using the following into a dbx go Rack and a QSC K12 Low cut 100 HX Hight cut 8.0 khx This is a sweet patch from custom tone with a few tweaks.
  20. Good point. I do have both the helix and the K12 set to line. If i change helix to mic out as fido suggested vs line it is not as hot but it really should be line for this application based on what I have read. If I had the K12 on 1/2 I'm sure most the neighbors would say WTF... :) The L2M at 800 watts with built in mixer sounds like it might be better setup if your happy with the base, plus no hassle with the behringer.
  21. Thanks for your suggestion oehman. I have a little behringer 1002 that I was able to blow the dust off and give it a shot. Thinking of taking the K12 back and ordering the L2T. The QSC is so loud I have it's vol on like 2. Anyone using the L2 with Helix that can share their experience? Gotta say I thought more would chime in on where they had the large vol on Helix given the vast amount of presets and differences between each.
  22. My main question revolves around where users have the BVK set. Great patches by so many here on custom tone and each requires personal tweaks to taste and setup.
  23. I would think line on both just like to FOH.
