  1. On the more immediate question of getting out of snapshot mode - if you are in 4 button mode, hit both up and down switches at the same time to toggle between snapshot and bank up-down modes. Hint - buying an instantaneous footswitch and plugging into EXP2 gives allows you to use 6 button mode and have up-down capability. For a basic tutorial - here is a pretty good one but still probably more technical than you need: (1) Line 6 POD GO Beginners Guide & Demo w/ Tom Quayle - Bing video Probably more useful would be this one - considering that there is a lot of info online about the Helix that is very similar in workflow and structure to Pod Go. tg
  2. I finally just bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Main out from pod Go into the Solo's input. It seems JamKazam is expecting a "conventional" audio interface and this worked fine. Although I am off Jamkazam for about 1 yr now and have started jamming live again. It is so much better than the glitchy rhythm nightmare that is Jamkazam, esp now that Covid is somewhat under control here in Canada. Good luck. tg
  3. Hey Root6t6, Could the input pad setting have changed from On to Off with the update? This could explain the across-the-board difference in harshness. tg
  4. Two years later - how are your crunch and lead tones with those headphones? Are they close to those of an FRFR speaker? tg
  5. Wow. Hearing the video up top, I hardly noticed a difference. But when trying A/B tests with and without a Boss DSD-2 pedal in front (off), the Pod Go does like Frampton in '75: It comes alive! It responds more to my playing feel, especially with edge of breakup tones like those of the Line 6 Litigator amp. Thanks all. tg
  6. All, I just saw a video from Five Watt World describing how using an analogue boost or OD before the Pod Go goes a long way to providing that Tube Amp feel, before signal enters the all-digital unit. See portion at 12:00. Have any of you taken this route? Thoughts? tg
  7. Hi kszak - here are a couple of things that may help: Firstly you must use a TRS cable, not a standard guitar jack, plugged into the Main Out - Left of the Pod Go, and into one of the FRFR 108 inputs. I set volume on FRFR108 at about 3. Make sure your Pod Go output is set to Line Level, not instrument. This is specified in the FRFR108 manual. Thirdly , as mentioned by spaceatl - contour switch on the FRFR must be out, not in. Finally if it sounds just too bassy or muddy - you need to lift the FRFR off the floor. Place it vertically on a chair or milkcrate, and keep it away from a corner of your room. This makes a huge difference at a better overall EQ - balance across all of your strings. As soon as I did this I decided to keep the speaker. Once you decide to keep it - you can get an amp stand or a PA short tripod stand. Good luck!
  8. It is so sensitive that if my picking hand is resting on the guitar as I turn the string peg, the note shows a bit sharp as the tuner picks up the bending of the neck! tg
  9. Same here - firmware 1.30 is a killer, and the new Orange amp, and Dynamic Hall reverb combined with Retro Reel effects produce a very believable pedal-steel sound. tg
  10. To Numbat, After 15 months with the unit, I can share the following, previously craving simplicity with a tube amp, a delay and a volume pedal for many years: 1) Make sure you use equipment that your Pod Go is designed for: i.e. High quality studio monitoring headphones and/or an FRFR speaker or studio monitors. Yes some will say it can work through an amp, but what I suggest is the most direct path to ENJOYING the device. Took me 8 months to realize this... 2) Despite the above, you will most likely not like the presets. They are rarely the patches of choice, maybe because Line 6 is maybe trying to demonstrate the amazing array of features instead of providing many usable out-of-the box sounds. 3) Stop thinking like a guitarist who just tweaks an amp. Expand your outlook slightly to add a mic-d guitar cabinet to your universe. It's not that much more complicated and once you find 2-3 goto sounds that you know how to tweak, it opens up a huge array of possibilities, if you are interested. 4) Understand Low and high cuts - these were the number 1 eye-opener for me. Proper understanding will get rid of the "fizzy" sound. 5) Search Youtube for Helix Amp Model videos. The amp models in Pod Go are the same and there are many "recipes" of amp settings that will produce sounds you will not believe. And the videos will quickly have you grasp best practices (for example the usual order of blocks (od, amp, cab, eq, delay, reverb etc)). Yes there are tons of settings but you quickly keep re-using them. Use a laptop to dial in sounds as they do on these videos - much quicker. 6) Remember to regularly play along with backing tracks or fellow musicians, this is a very quick way to stop obsessing over your f-n sound!! If you can only remember 2 of these, choose 1 and 6. Or, just use the Scream 808 - Line 6 Litigator amp model, simple delay and any of the reverbs and you will be happy. And get an acoustic IR - which will work well with an acoustic, and the same purchase will give you options to use your electric to emulate an acoustic, quite well. Good luck! tg
  11. I bought an acoustic IR (10 USD) from 3Sigma and it sounds unbelievable with my Takamine - with piezo pickup into the Pod Go. No more Ovation type quacky acoustic sound, just gorgeous, "mic-d Taylor in a studio" sound, in a live setting. I have been waiting about 20 yrs for this acoustic sound. And now the kicker - it happens to make my strat also sound like an OK acoustic. No chorus needed, just slight compression and room reverb. tg
  12. Related question, With a single FRFR108, should I run 2 TRS cables, one into each input of the speaker? I ask because Pod Go delays and mods etc run only in stereo. My flangers and Chorus sound just ok in the Headrush...wonder it it will sound better. tg
  13. All, It has been almost a full year since my Pod go purchase. The store is proposing an extended warranty for around $25 CAD per year. Taking a quick survey... Did any of you purchase extended warranties for Line 6 products, or is it general consensus that if nothing has gone wrong in yr 1, I should be ok for awhile? tg
  14. Sure, the link is here: BREAKING a BAD Guitar Habit | It WORKED - YouTube specifically sounds at 8:22 and 10:10 He is using both strat type and a humbucker equipped guitar. I am using a Strat. You hear - not much distortion, but a very assertive professional sound that is responsive. Might just be the guitarist... For now - designing for Sennheiser HD-599 Headphones. I am having all kinds of trouble getting decent sound out of my 27 yr old Peavey C-30, but only because I am plugging in to the front. There is an issue with my effect return (hum) that prevents 4CM. Obviously into the front of the amp I am turning off all amp and cab sims. Overall using the Peavey with the Pod Go, so far removes 95% of the Pod Go's lustre. I will be trying out a Headrush FRFR108 in the next couple of days... tg
  15. All, Studio legend Tim Pierce has a sound on his Youtube channel that is incredibly ballsy, with a good bottom end and edge-of-breakup quality without much overdrive and very responsive The sound, to me, screams "Professional". He does not use modelers, but rather has high-quality tube amps with cabs set to jet-engine volumes in another room. He often uses stacked overdrive pedals as well Can anyone suggest how to achieve this with Pod Go? tg
  16. Using Pod Go Edit you see 3 folders, Factory, User and Impluses., typically pink colored by default. Then you use one of these IR's instead of a cab inside the Cab block. The purchased IR package comes with various folders for the type of guitar you are using. There is an electric, an acoustic with a magnetic pickup and an acoustic with Piezo each with various mic distances. I didn't have much luck with the first 2, maybe with some tweaking it could work. But Piezo with a Takamine really works. Pod Go signal chain is then: IR - Preamp - Volume - 3band comp - Parametric EQ - Chamber reverb tg
  17. I use a Takamine Acoustic- Electric with usual Piezo pickup. Purchased an acoustic IR from 3 Sigma audio (Taylor 524) for about 10 USD, which Pod Go can read. Added some light Room reverb and Compression. Use also an EQ for a volume boost because acoustic IR's are usually less loud than normal electric guitar patches. The sound is UNBELIEVABLE. Like a mic-d acoustic in a professional studio, zero feedback, no tinny Piezo (Ovation) type sound. tg
  18. Hey guys - changing to the Ribbon 4038 really helped warm it up. Thanks all, especially kraM1t.
  19. All, I am using POD Go as an interface for online jamming with Jamkazam. I need to have some voice chat capability which has been difficult to achieve with Jamkazam's setup. Most of the Jamkazam forums say - use an interface like a Focusrite. I need the Pod Go to be the interface. Anyone know if I can use the Pod Go Aux In with a microphone? I assume it has to be a dynamic microphone because no phantom power is available on the Go. Not looking for any type of sound quality - it just has to be very basic allowing chat capabilities with proper XLR to TRS adaptor to not damage the Pod Go (stereo Aux input). Thanks! trainguy
  20. Hey Line 6, how about an update to resolve this issue? Shouldn’t the headphone sound be similar to an FRFR speaker so we can dial up our sounds well into the night?
  21. Interesting voxman55 - writing from Montreal, Canada, our electricity is generated pretty close to here and has been quite regular. I have not actually measured the voltage/current stability though. Next time the fizz comes, I'll check if the dishwasher is on, or other equipment. Thanks! tg

    Aux in?

Can I use a dynamic microphone (so no phantom power needed) in the Pod Go's aux input?
  23. Hi guys, A month later, fuzziness is back. Maybe angelcaro is on to something...
  24. Not related, but any idea why when I search this site for content I started or posted in, most of the time I get zero results? tg
  25. And we are back - sounds great again, and no idea why. Much less fizz, warmer overdrive. tg
