  1. Toby, Are you using the HD500 in conjunction with your GR-55?
  2. "Distribution" will always favor a repair over a replacement. But your dealer should be taking care of this - if they have a return policy, then you should exercise it and return the defective one for a refund and purchase another one with the refund (if they make you go through that whole process). And if they don't want to, I'd start mentioning that you'll exercise your right to return the WHOLE system (assuming you're still within the dealer's return policy) based on the fact/idea that you're not getting the customer service you deserve... Just my humble opinion....
  3. I'm waiting for the Fishman Fluence pickups . . .
  4. 2nd one just arrived back from Line 6. I've got a rattle free system now! Woo Hoo!!!
  5. If you switch to electric guitar mode when using your electric, you may find a pleasing sound. Although, keep in mind that you aren't running a pre-amp, so you lose a little bit of "electric" guitar sound as far as frequencies - since electric guitar amps and speakers have their own EQ curve. What I'm saying is that you may need to use a graphic eq pedal instead of the on board 3 band EQ - as well as use a pedal for mild overdrive tones - the electric guitar mode emulates a 2x12 guitar speaker cab, but doesn't add/offer anything for tone shaping and OD... Any type of guitar modeling pedal (doesn't have to be a POD) will work equally well... Hope that helps. Tom
  6. There are two different versions (you can load a different SD card with each of the firmwares - so you don't have to buy two pedals) - one for reverb and one for cab sims... http://logidy.com/?pid=0
  7. The Logidy pedal might help you in the meantime - yes, you'll have another pedal, but you'll be able to use your IR's live...
  8. I've run my whole pedal board into the front of my PODHD500 (bypassing all of the built in effects) at times. My thinking was that it was supposed to act like a regular amp (or at least the amp it is modeling) and I put my pedalboard in front of those amps, so why not? I got some great tones out of it with the ability to "change" amps at the touch of a footswitch, so when I switched over to acoustic and wanted "no model" I could or if I had one amp set for single coil and another set for humbucker... Hope that helps. Tom
  9. After some tweaking, I've got the acoustic strings down to about 85% and it is sounding much better. Plugged straight into my Bose L1 Compact or my L2t Stagesource, it's much nicer to play and strum and hear... Thanks to all for the input. It's a journey... but worth the ride...
  10. I could live with "it sounds like an acoustic with an under-saddle pickup" - which is why I suggested (a couple posts ago), that maybe one of the "models" could be a "non-modeled" acoustic. I just don't remember having to play so lightly before 2.1 - I play both fingerstyle (Chet Atkins/Jerry Reed) as well as some acoustic rhythm comping. Being able to switch from Electric to Acoustic mid song or starting the song with a nice acoustic intro and then switching to electric is a nice feature of the JTV-69.
  11. At about 2:45, John Rzeznik isn't playing very lightly . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frZizRNmS90 And here's the PRS equipped piezo:
  12. I was never a fan of the piezo Nashville Tele either. But Townsend sure gets a great "Pinball Wizard" acoustic sound out of his Fishman Powerbridge Strat...
  13. Having played Piezo equipped (solid body) electrics before - I think that one of the "models" that should be offered is a "non-model" - just the sound of the piezo pickup with no modeling. If a Fishman equipped strat or a piezo equipped PRS can sound decent and be played "hard", then our JTV should sound equally as good.
  14. Don't know many acoustic players that play "light" - especially rhythm players...
  15. Is it just me, or do the acoustic models seem "aggressive" in Version 2.1? It seems like you need to have a real light touch - not something I remember experiencing previously... Thanks in advance for your input.... Tom
  16. My 2nd one is boxed up and ready for UPS to pickup today...
  17. Update... The repaired L2t arrived. NO MORE RATTLE! Yay!!!! Great job Line 6!
  18. The Sonic Port works just fine with the iPhone 5s and BIAS - just make sure you're running iOS 7...
  19. Wanted to post that Line 6 had UPS pick up one of my rattling L2t Stagesource Speakers for repair on May 23rd (just before Memorial Day). I just received notice that it is fixed and is being shipped back to me today! Awesome customer service and repair turnaround! As soon as I get it back and ensure that it is rattle free, I'll be contacting them again for return of my other L2t. Thanks Line 6 for the great service experience with the return and repair! 20. In my experience, the L2t's have worked well for FOH as well as an individual "amp" and I've not needed the power of the L3...
  21. Understood dboomer - I was just referencing the fact that it has a keyboard mode, as well as a guitar mode and the (clueless) salesperson tries to claim it's only intended for guitars. Heck, the L2m doesn't even have the Variax "modeling", so it just irks me when "salespeople" do a disservice to both the company they work for and maybe even more importantly, the customer by giving out BAD information....
  22. +1 And you'll find that your guitar cuts even better because you're running the an FRFR system... AND... if you end up needing more for FOH, you can run a line out of it into the main PA...
  23. Yeah, that's why there's a Keyboard Mode on the DSP... I despise clueless salespeople...
