  1. Hi, In the rehearsal room, I use my Pod Go through a Harley Benton GPA-100 that I plug into the 4x12 available there. The sound is ok but it lacks power because the power amp wants a +4dBu line level signal. In this situation I output my sound from the Amp Out jack. I can't use the main outputs because I tap the sound before the emulated cab. I was thinking about placing a preamp between the PG and the power amp to raise its level somewhat. Has anyone here ever tried to plug the Pod Go into an ART tube mp and into a power amp or mixer ? How does it sound ? Having the possibility to activate/deactivate cabs globally would be so much easier. I don't understand why Line6 won't add this feature. Cheers. Jay
  2. I've been editing the PG with my usual USB cable for about an hour and it's working without any problem, as it has always worked. What would be the link between USB and the fact that edit cannot reach L6 server ? Doesn't make sense. Besides, I tried on another machine W10 equipped and it still fails to log to my account (can't reach server"). The internet connection is solid, I also can log in to my accound if I go straight to L6 website. Cheers. Jay
  3. Hi ! As it worked flawlessly before and as I have changed nothing on the machine (not installed anything, not changed a hardware part), it is definitely not machine-related. Edit works as it has always worked on the same usb port as before. Whatever... Cheers. Jay
  4. Hi ! Updates are more and more difficult to make. Is it me only or do other people experience that ? Updating the Pod Go via PG Edit used to be a 3-minute task, but since version 1.5, I have never been able to connect to my account via the editor (I can connect without any problem directly on L6 website). Therefore, I now always have to download the firmware and update offline using L6 updater. Also, when trying to download HXF files I always get the XML error or the "just a rectangle at the top" page. Even, the last update 2.01 was a problem. After updating, I got a window saying that it was downloading important files with a white screen and a "continue" button at the bottom. After clicking this button, L6 updater wanted to update with firmware 1.49b2 or whatever. I thought I'd bricked the Pod Go as it was still saying "Updating...". Switched it off and on and fortunately it booted on 2.01. This is really getting annoying. So much so that I might get a unit from another maker. Cheers. Jay
  5. Hi ! I own a PC112+ that I mostly use in speaker emulation mode and also an "old" Spider Valve 112. I use them with a Pod Go (when using the Spider Valve I plug into the power amp in). I like the sound of both. For gigging small venues (guitar amps not miked up, only voices, keyboards and kick/snare are going into the PA), which one do you think will be the loudest. It seems to me the Spider Valve is extremely powerful compared to the PC112+ (with which I optimize the input level so that the orange LED lights up, so it should give me its full 250 watts of power). What's your point of view ? Cheers. Jay
  6. Hi ! Does anyone know if there's a chart somewhere pertaining rhe Go's output levels in dBU ? For example, when set to line at full volume, what is the max output level of the Main out jack ? Cheers. Jay
  7. Hi, When setting output level of an emulated speaker it affects both the physical loudspeaker output AND the XLR output. This is really annoying. Here's the scenario. You want to use the PC as your amplifier with a speaker emulation and get the signal from the XLR ouput to front of house with the speaker emulation. If you don't want to overload the mixer's input you have to lower the output level of the preset (whether you set the PC to output mike ou line level doesn't change anything). Problem : the output of the physical speaker is too low on stage. Now, if you increase the output of the preset to have more volume from the speaker, the signal from XLR is far too hot and the FOH sound is distorted. Same problem with the low/high cut. If you have too many highs from the speaker and engage high cut, then the sound in front of house lacks highs. Why didn't they implement independent settings for the XLR output so that it only affects the emulated output ? The way it works is stupid ! Cheers. Jay
  8. Hi ! If it were a real rig, having effects after the cab would be like having them on the mixer, as send or insert effects. If you goal is to get the sound of an amp miked up without any effect added by the sound guy, put everything before the cab. This is what I do on stage, as if my cab was just miked up with a simple microphone. When recording it's different, you may want stereo effects. In that case, the "console" effects would come after the cab. Cheers. Jay
  9. Hi ! I got the one at Myvolts. It comes with an adapter to reverse the polarity and it does work BUT it generates some noise. It would be ok as a backup just to finish a gig, in case of, but not more. I told Myvolts aboutnthat and they refunded me. Cheers.
  10. Hi ! What I've been wishing since I got my PG is the ability to switch the cab block on/off globally. But I'm afraid it will never come. Having to create two sets of patches is a real PITA. Cheers.
  11. Hi, Jad the problem with 4 different computer using the supplied cable. Did not work. Got a new quality shielded 4-meter cable......it works perfectly with the same 4 computers. Si, yes, the supplied cable is crap ! Cheers. Jay
  12. Hi! I had the same problem when I first got my PG and thought I'd solved it by using a powered usb hub. But I recently had the same problem again with all my computers. I eventually got a good shielded usb cable.......no more problem. So the conclusion is that the cable Line6 provide is pure crap. When getting such a product it is not acceptable. Cheers. Jay
  13. Hi ! What is the maximum output level (in dBU at 0dBFS) that POD GO can produce when main output and/or amp out are set to line and instrument ? Thanks.
  14. Hi, It's my own request on Ideascale, so, already upvoted ;o) Cheers Jay
  15. I guess you should read my post more closely. I know the f*****g manual by heart LOL I do know how to set everything up but, if the cabs could just be bypassed on the amp out (only) and not judt be tapped before the cab, we wouldn't have to put the cab at the end of the chain to get all effects in the monitoring amp. The way I do it, I have stereo effects after the cab, so that the main outs are in stereo to FOH, but I have to tap the signal before the cab on the amp out and therefore get a dry signal. If I want to have the effects in the amp, I have to choose the "clone main outs" setting, but then the cab doubles up with the cab of the amp. My question was then, is there a hardware limitation preventing line6 to allow the amp out to give the same signal as main outs but with the cab disengaged ? I also own a Hotone Ampero. In the settings you can choose to disable cabs globally on either left or right output, without having to deactivate the block in your presets. Cheers. Jay
  16. Hi, Is it not possible hardwarewise to add this feature to the Pod Go ? Is there a hardware limitation not allowing to do that ? I mean, having the possibility to bypass cab block globally on the amp out while keeping it active on the main outs ? I usually send the stereo main to FOH and use an amp on stage for monitoring and at the moment I have to either leave cab on and the monitor sound is not that nice, or put the cab at the end and I lose the stereo signal on main outs. Cheers. Jay
  17. Hi, As I wrote above, had the problem all the time when first got my Pod Go. Edit kept giving me disconnection messages all the time after a few minutes. Now I have the PG plugged into an external powered USB hub. Problem solved, no more disconnections. Cheers. Jay
  18. Hi ! I haven't had time to update yet but the bug fix list says they fixed the expression pedal swap bug. Good stuff ! Cheers. Jay
  19. Hi, They updated the ticket. They managed to reproduce the bug and have escalated the issue further. So, it is a bug. I hope they fix it quickly because it is a must-have feature when playing live. Cheer Jay

    Amp out level ?

Hi, Unfortunately you can't change the output level of the Amp Out. I tried a few things. But it is quite powerful anyway so it should be ok to drive this FRFR cabinet as a monitor on stage. When used as the main cabinet for small gigs, I'll just use one of the main outputs. Maybe a small DI would be a good solution. Thanks for the answers. Cheers. Jay

    Amp out level ?

Hi ! What is the level of the Amp out ? Line ot instrument ? I have a Harley Benton FRFR112 arriving which I will be using as a monitor on stage (and as my amp at home). It has Line inputs, will it be ok xith the amp out ? I don't want to use the main outputs because these will go direct to PA when gigging. Thanks. Jay
  22. Hi ! OK, I asked other users on FB groups to test and their Pod Go does the same. The rep at Line6 could reproduce it too, so it is definitely a bug. https://www.facebook.com/100004506545710/videos/1760704500756418/ So, for the moment, it is impossible to have a "master" volume pedaln which is what I'd like. Bummer ! Cheers. Jay
  23. Hi, As I feared, they did not understand the description of the problem and just asked me to update to fw 1.12, use editor 1.11 and reset my PG, which is what I've done of course. I sent them the full procedure to reproduce the behaviour. Waiting fpr their answer. In the meantime, it would be nice if users with an external pedal could try and reproduce the bug so that I can know if it's only on my PG or not. Here is what you should do : 1) plug an external pedal in Pod Go (and choose Exp2 in settings, obviously) 2) go to settings and choose "global" for expression pedals 3) create and save two basic presets where exp1 controls wah value and exp2 controls volume, with 0/100% range for both. Save both presets with volume block visible in view mode (so that you can see the value in real time). 4) put external pedal fully toe down (volume goes to 100%) and internal pedal fully heel down (wah value goes to 0%) 5) switch to the other preset The value of volume should stay at 100% (the pedal is still toe down) and the wah should stay at 0% (the internal pedal is still heel down). IT IS NOT THE CASE, volume reverts to 0% (that is the position of the internal pedal) and wah jumps to 100% (that is the position of the external pedal). You can try with other pedal positions. For example, leave external pedal heel down (0% value), move internal pedal to a position where wah value is - for example - 37%. Now switch presets : volume value jumps to 37%, which is the value of the internal pedal. When Pod Go "asks" for the position of the pedals, it swaps pedal 1 and pedal 2. I hope I made myself clear. If again you don't understand, I'll make a video of it. Cheers Jay
  24. Yes, I have. Waiting for their answer. Thanks. Jay
  25. Hi, I did even try with a friend's genuine line6 ex1 pedal and it is the same. Just try and you'll see. It does the same thing even without an external pedal just switching from exp1 to exp2 with the toe switch. It is a bug. Reversing polarity will just make a pedal work the other way round (toe down becomes heel down) but it won't change how the device recognizes the pedal's position. Cheers. Jay
