  1. Well they deserve it! I started with first Pod & progressed with Line 6 as far as Pod HD which was supposed to be the ultimate in realism but really wasn't at all. Now all you hear about Helix is that the unit sounds dreadful with it's own IRs. So then you have to go get more IRs from elsewhere to make it sound ok. Then it sounds dreadful thru my cabinet and amp- so then you have to get a clean power amp to project it properly. So is it really any wonder that I am sick of all the hyped up rubbish and justifications for wasting your money. chasing something that might not be there in the first place. Get a real tube amp and a speaker cabinet> Mine cost less than £200 new and sounds great with a few pedals. It has proper tube amp compression. Open your eyes and your ears. I am not saying that all modellers suck. I have a good one costing less than £150 and it sounds better than anything I ever got from Line 6. Top of the range is Fractal I suppose but that costs almost as much as a SOLDANO SLO 100. I know which I would prefer. besides which can you really say that a Axe FXIII is 200 x better than an Ampero or a Nux Mg300?? If you can you are only fooling yourself.
  2. Stick to your first opinions which are probably correct. Amp modelling has moved on but Line 6 has released some awful products all with claims that they were brilliant and realistic at time of release. Then they release a new product which they claim is far better. The brand's prices now match what you might expect to pay for a reasonably good tube amp that potentially sounds much better and is authentically real.
  3. Looking for a solution I seem to have found one @ ine6.com/support/topic/133-audio-in-windows-8-randomly-stops-working-with-ux2/ the first post explains the fix and that seems to have fixed it for me. These programs ran ok together for many hours of practicing for the first time without any red messages. I also went to Control Panel- Sound- manage sound devices. click on the 'manage Audio Devices' Highlight the Speakers Option then go to 'Properties' Select 'Enhancements' Then select disable all sound Effects Click OK and there you go. Once you have done this go to the first post in the forum mentioned above ine6.com/support/topic/133-audio-in-windows-8-randomly-stops-working-with-ux2/ then follow the further instructions given in the very first post. it has seemed to work for me.
  4. moderndayfreak- yes this appears to be a common issue and there is another forum I found about the issue its called 'Audio in Windows 8 randomly stops working with UX2. ' Since UX1 and UX2 are basically the same with different I/O s its not surprising. It seems that the actual issue is with the operating System Windows 8 that we all have in common and it appears that either POD Farm 2 or the UX's are no longer compatible with Windows newer operating systems. It appears that Line 6 are slow to recognise and accept this, and have been even slower to try to find a solution. What might buck up their ideas if someone was to start a Forum entitled 'DO NOT BUY POD FARM 2 OR EITHER UX1 OR UX2 BECAUSE IT JUST WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY WITH OTHER PROGRAMS IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 8 AS AN OPERATING SYSTEM' Maybe then we may get a fix ! By the way LINE 6 how long has Windows 8 been out and how may more musicians will consider buying your product to work on Windows Operating Systems in the future? Do the maths and then just get this issue under control ! Keep the pressure up moderndayfreak and we may get a fix !
  5. It looks like there is no fix yet for these problems and that's probably why My Support Tickets have been ignored. When will Line 6 accept that there are major issues here and that the problem will not go away. We need some recognition that the problem has been recognised and is being worked on. It now appears that Pod Farm 2 is not compatible with Windows 8 operating system and needs an upgrade of some sort - any prospective buyers need to be made aware of this if they are operating from Windows 8 as a platform. It is likely they will experience major sound issues and other programs will crash. In some of the previous replies (above) i have seen some lame excuse from Line 6 stating that the UX1 and UX2 are not meant as a general sound-card . This is rubbish and a cop out that is totally unacceptable. People use various combination of gear and programs to practice and sometimes we need to put music from various sources into the sound-card especially for headphone use. As a Musician and technician to have solely Pod Farm at our disposal is limiting the potential that computers and software generally offers to us. Whats the use is having to go between 2 sources when you want to play along to existing music files or even when creating your own? For example say you lay down a backing and want to add a lead its no good when you cannot hear them together through the same source. Frankly the excuse from Line 6 was feeble and a cover up designed to take the heat of them. L6 need to take some responsibility for this issue and press on with a fix and stop giving feeble excuses for not doing so. Pod Farm was designed to facilitate using various other software at the same time for example you need to be able to play into a virtual mixing console (DAW). It's essential !. With Vista all this was possible so why has Line 6 now imposed limitations on the use of Pod Farm 2 by being seemingly incompatible with Windows new operating systems and any other Software programs they wish to diss in the process?
  6. Anyone got a fix for these issues yet? I have some similar issues and have just opened a new thread. My issues are as follows. Operating System is Windows 8.1. I use Pod Farm 2 latest version with UX1 but also use the UX1 as a soundcard for other programmes. I use either Roni Amazing Slow Downer or Transcribe to rehearse and learn. I also may use Videolan VLC Media Player to watch and play against tuition videos. I use these and listen through headphones often so I need to be able to play them all into one source. Just to be clear I only use one of these other programmes at a time together with Pod Farm 2. I use the MME Drivers of the UX1 so there is no conflict with the Assio Drivers used by Pod Farm. This set up all worked fine in Vista but now with W 8.1 it works and then crashes all the time and will not work again until I re-boot the computer. All of the above progs work fine in W 8.1 when used as standalone but will only work for a short time with the Pod Farm and UX1. They are all compatible version for Wind 8.1. I have contacted Microsoft about the problems but they have referred me back to Line 6 stating that its a 3rd party Driver issue. Everything works well until I come to route the other progs through the UX1 when Pod Farm is in use. They all still work correctly with Vista so my UX1 is not the issue and still works correctly. I can supply the transcript of the support I received from Microsoft. This is the 2nd ticket i have taken out on this issue as the first one seems to have disappeared

  8. Offrhode92- hello . I may have similar issues to those you describe above but with different programs. however it seems we have different operating systems and are you still getting these issues? Below is a copy of a support ticket i raised with L6 but they are still to reply. Operating System is Windows 8.1.
