Hi, I'm a brand new HX Stomp owner as of today and am learning my way. I haven't played in a long time (5yr) and all the new tech is pretty incredible but my ears are also pretty stale. One thing I was wondering about is one of my favorite old cabs to play through was an open back 2x12 with Eminence Legend speakers. It wasn't even a "real" cab, but just some plywood in a compact box on rollers that looked maybe homemade with some fuzz covering the outside. Anyway, the cab had a chimey character about it that I liked and I was wondering if some folks might point me toward some of the Helix cabinets (I assume they're IRs?) that might be expected to most closely mimic that kind of sound if you're familiar? (If it matters, probably my favorite head to play through it at home was a small Blackstar). I also used to have a 4x10 Marshall cab - closed back - that I really liked but I note the Stomp doesn't seem to have 4x10 guitar cabs except the fender tweed. I think the speakers in the Marshall cab were maybe called Celestion Golds if that makes sense. If you're familiar, I also appreciate any suggestions for what available HX Stomp cabs might sound most similar to that 4x10 or celestion gold speakers? Appreciate any thoughts on cab matches for Eminence Legend 2x12 open backs (or just Eminence Legends), and the 4x10 closed back Marshall w/ Celestion Golds (I think?) Thanks in advance - appreciated.

I was hoping someone one here has tried a power cab and also a seymour duncan power stage into a 2x12 or 4x12 with their helix. I am digging my helix, but currently using a headrush frfr. The frfr is fine for home use, but once i play with people and crank it up, it just sounds like a cheaper two way speaker. There is no where for me to test out a powercab in my area and you tube doesn't really do any justice to actual in the room sounds a lot of times. I play mainly heavy distortion duel rec type stuff on vintage 30's. I was debating a powerstage 170 and a 2x12 with vintage 30's or a power cab plus 212. Just wondering if anyone can compare tone and feel. If the power cab plus has the same tone and feel, or at least really close, it would be nice to have the option to change speakers. I do miss the feel of a real 2x12 with the headrush. I apologize if this topic has been disused on here as I can not find it. If it has please direct me and ill read on!!!! Thanks!!!!

WARNING NEW GUY I have been playing 15 years...and can dial in a tube amp easily...but modelers are a whole new world to me...here goes nothing! So i have had my helix lt for a few months now and have been using it live almost every weekend. Had a sound i really liked dialed in but wasn't happy just using a monitor and my bands mixer board is one is always one short on running FOH so...it was time for a power amp and 2x12 cab But now i cant seem to find a good setting...i took the IR off the preset. Ive really taken a liking to the Placater so id like to still use that for the 80s cover band. Any suggestions on helix settings using the 2x12 and poweramp route?
