Hi! I'm new on this forum, I'm from Italy. Recently I purchased a Variax Standard white, I would like to transplant it into a stratocaster body and consequently replace the neck with a maple neck. I've already made a transplant of a Variax 300 into this body with fake pickups but now I would upgrade this body with all Variax Standard electronics and real pickups. Does exist any project on the web? Have anybody tried this transplant?

I just ordered a Helix LT yesterday and I am very new to modelers. What is the best way to hook up the Helix through a Fender Hot Rod Deville? I don't know much about the 4CM and just wanted the best advice on what to do. Thanks

I've always really liked the sound of my 8-string through a clean fender amp (usually a Fender Deluxe) with the pickups set to single coil, but I can't quite seem to recreate that sound in the Helix. It's got a certain tightness and "slap" that just doesn't come through when I try messing with the fender amps in the Helix. I even tried using my own Fender Twin cab IRs. I need something crisp and spanky but still clean, can anyone tell me what to do?

Just ordered my Helix Floor unit. I'm running a Fender Mustang GT100 amp with the MGT-4 4-button footswitch unit to change amp settings and presets. The cable is just a basic instrument line in but I've been unable to locate any documentation on what control signals it puts out. My idea is to program a preset on the Helix that lets me replicate the functionality of that switch unit so as to eliminate the need for an extra board. I've searched these forums for related info but come up short; ditto for general googling. Does anyone have some insight (and/or links) to share on how I might be able to pull this off? Many thanks in advance!

I have my Helix plugged in to a Fender Deluxe. Guitar - Guitar In - Send 1 - Amp Input - Power Amp Out - Return 1 - Mono 1/4" - Power Amp In But the volume controls on my amp don't seem to work anymore. Could someone explain this?

Hi All, I found the output volume of undistorted (preamp volume around 3-4) blackface Fender amps ultra low compared to those of all the other amps. This is particularly true for the Twin Reverb amp and slighlty less for the Deluxe Reverb. I have to add a post amp gain of +10dB in order to have a reasonable volume setting on the amp "output volume". Not such a big deal, but I am worried of missing something... Is it the same for you?

lollipop you line 6... After 6 years i couldnt fix my Spider IV 150w... It just came with fabric issue, it restarts ramdonly and you NEVER EVER said NOTHING to your customers about this issue that SO MANY people had with their amps. (It seems like a Main Board issue.. Oh... The brain of the amp...) And so many people just take it back, but i couldnt do that because i bought it in USA when i was traveling, but im from Venezuela, so, take back the amp to store or to the technical support was more expensive than the amp. Really, just lollipop you... I'll never buy anything Line 6 in my lollipoping entire life, and i'll say it to every guitarist i know... I bought your lollipoping publicity, your digital lollipop and lights, but not an amp... Just got my new FENDER BLUES JR 15w TUBE AMP months ago and let me tell you, it was cheaper (500$) and IT IS lollipopING AWESOME, sound A LOOOOOOT BETTER and its loud as lollipop If you are reading this, and looking for an amp... DONT BUY line6 amps if you want to be a serious guitarist, dont let them mesmerize with all their desing and lollipop... if you have a budget, and want an amp for LIFETIME, really, just look for another options. Out there you can find awesome solid state or tube amps for the same price (or even cheaper). Thanks for stole my lollipoping money (Spider IV 150w + Fbv Shortboard MKII = 700$ 6 years ago), and goodbye line6 forum

I posted a new IR per a member request for a good clean Strat sound. Immediately I think Fender Twin. I setup a Helix preset and loaded the stock US Double Norm (Fender Twin) amp block and separate US Double C12N cab block. I then copied the preset, deleted the cab, and changed the output to USB 5/6, opened AT4 and setup its Fender Twin Model, turned off the AT4 amp, then tweaked the speakers and mics to what I liked. Processed the AT4 cab model per my post http://line6.com/support/topic/19604-irs-from-amplitube-4-cab-room/ Copied the Helix preset again and put in the new AT4 IR block, then I ABC'd the presets. Again, the resulting IR directly in Helix is slightly different than Helix Amp into AT4 cab plug in. I actually think it sounds more open than the AT4 plug in and less nasally than the Helix cab (sorry to use that term again L6, i'll try to find a better one). I'm also noticing that 1024 sample settings on the IR's are a bit more mid-rangy than the 2048 sample setting. Setting them to 2048 samples is almost like throwing a deep switch on an amp. Fender Twin Cab IR 4/6/2016 Cab: Fender Twin Speaker: American Alnico x2 Left Mic: Dynamic 57 Right Mic: Bottle 563 Room Mics: Condenser 87 Helix presets: Fender Twin IR 1024.hlx & Fender Twin IR 1024.hlx with IR in Impulse slot 27 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/009bkqzooza1aop/AADER2D9wah_GtlL5ygW7-fCa/IR/Fender%20Twin%20AmAln%20SM57%20Bottle?dl=0 I posted a pic of the AT4 screenshot of the cab setup this time and a readme. I also posted the Helix stock preset I compared it to.

Someone might already mention about this before. Here's what I discovered. I think the easiest way to get piezo or acoustic-y sound on your solid body guitar is to play Fender amps or clean amps with low distortion without Cab. I run HD500 directly to Alto ts112. BF Double is pretty good. You don't really need anything else. You can add chorus and reverb to sound better. Anyway, thanks for reading.

Hello. James here, So I'm new to these forums, and couldn't find much insight into what I'm about to ask. I'm trying to set up a scene on my M13 detailing three specific tones used by John Mayer. Tone 1 : from Where The Light Is - GRAVITY(LIVE) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnTkVZCxHHs Tone 2: from Where The Light Is - BELIEF(LIVE) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn13GjkIxg4 Tone 3: from Letterman - CROSSROADS(LIVE) : As far as equipment is concerned: -Fender Blacktop Strat, 2 Humbuckers -Fender Frontman 15g -Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler So that's that. If you guys could provide me with some insight on how I could achieve these sounds, that'd be helpful. Thanks. James If possible, I'd like to make this thread dedicated to the JM fans out there.
