PeterJH
Ok, I've spent some more time tweaking the JCM800 patch and playing with the very crude and inaccurate eq that comes with the POD. I think that the "nasty" frequency has been tamed as much as I can get it. I made a small clip pf just the guitar into the HD500 and then into the desk. No outboard eqs, reverb or delays. All EFX from the POD. There's no backtrack this time. Just the gtr and the POD. Please excuse the rough playing - my ears are fried at this stage but I'm fairly happy. The track is called JCM Goodness. Cheers, Peter. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12977198
PRSGuy
Sounds Great! So this is the patch you previously posted but has since been tweaked a bit?

PeterJH
Yes. I've done some more tweaking and now I feel like I'm getting somewhere. Glad you like it. Cheers.
alienux
Is the recording a mix of both bridge and neck pickups? The beginning sounds like bridge pickup to me, and the second half sounds like neck.
PeterJH
The rhythm track is bridge and the solo track is a bit of both neck and bridge.
Brazzy
Yes. I've done some more tweaking and now I feel like I'm getting somewhere. Glad you like it. Cheers. Even after years of playing/tweaking I always find more tonal possibilities. Personally I have fun doing it as I seem to learn more and more that way. Your on a Roll Pete keep Twamm'in (Tweak'in and Jamm'in) your sounds are great!! Everyone appreciates your uploads too. :) And as usual Rads has posted an image that brings a smile to my face, lol. Akeron
Sounds really good! Is it me or the patch on custom tone is the same?
PeterJH
The patch has been modified. I used the JCM800 Pre on the uploaded patch. The new patch that hasn't been uploaded yet uses the JCM800 pre and power section as well as a second eq to tame certain frequencies. If you listen back to back to the two patches the new one isn't as harsh. I'll upload the modified patch on Monday. Cheers. Peter
357mag
What is the name of your patch so I can find it? It does sound better than anything I've been able to come up with.

Dig that patch though. I may need to spend some time tweaking an SLO.

PeterJH
I used a Les Paul. No mics as this was direct into the desk. I did put up a new thread with a link to the patch. This patch was used in the clip on this thread.
