UK Helix Arrival

Recommended Posts

Hi, has anyone heard when the Helix will arrive in UK music stores.

I heard that it is now going to be the middle of November.

Well Digital Igloo said that they had finished with the firmware updates in the European warehouse (Yamaha in the Netherlands), and that they would be in the distribution chain.  But none of the UK dealer sites including Yamaha UK are showing a date earlier than 30th October, which seems a very long time to get across the channel.  There was one person on a thread somewhere saying that Norway was also November.

Got to say that I have the money for my big 50 present in a week time starting to burn a hole, but it doesn't look as though there will be any to buy.

I forgot - GuitarGuitar are doing a Helix Launch day in Glasgow on October 13th with Sean Halley http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/news/article.asp?id=127341

Other dates are Newcastle on the 20th and Epsom on the 22nd

I know its a long way - but there will be at least one there then! I am in the Midlands but apparently neither the 2nd or 3rd largest cities qualify as worth demonstrating at, and London is only covered if you consider Epsom to be London (it is inside the M25 I suppose)  :(

It says Paul Hindmarsh on that link, not Sean Halley.

Yeah it does - sorry it was supposed to be a quick post-script and was written a bit too quickly

Another demo... 14th November at Absolute Music in Dorset https://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/community/events/Line-6-Helix-Demo-Day-14th-Nov-2015

Only found because I am trying to find out whether anybody has any Helices in the UK - the current answer appears to be that other than Paul Hindmarsh's demo unit that there are none yet and everybody is still reporting end of October for stock.

I can't find a single list of the demonstrations either, just the retailers advertising their own dates

Still can't find the full list, but a few more dates for the tour: http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/blog/2015/10/01/helix-tour-2015/

Thursday 1st October: PMT Bristol
Thursday 8th October: PMT East London
Tuesday 27th October: PMT Leeds
Wednesday 28th October: PMT Manchester
Saturday & Sunday 7th & 8th November: PMT Birmingham (Music's Live Weekender!)

Looks like PMT end of first week in November will be my first chance to see one - and there is a small chance that it might be in stock then as well.

Really don't know why it is taking so long.

On another thread on that site which I have read only a little of (backwards) http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/43521/line-6-helix/p34- it looks like there has been delays in shipping to Europe:

Hi folks. A delivery update for you which was confirmed today. We have had a small delay with shipping. Regular stock will be arriving late October but we are air freighting in as many as we can. There will still be a delay but not as bad. We should get stock out to our dealers around the middle of October, hopefully sooner.

We will be working with dealers to prioritise customer pre orders so those of you who have ordered hopefully won't be waiting too much longer. Just wanted to give it to you from the horses mouth as it were in case you thought a dealer was giving you the run around. They're not. It's our fault! Well, it's someone elses but we will take the blame.

Just received this email from Andertons:

"Thank you for your email. The Helix unit you have ordered is due to arrive around 09/10 and we shall contact you once this unit is in store and ready for collection.

We shall also contact you if its arrival is delayed at all."

Fingers crossed.......

Just been to the GuitarGuitar Birmingham demo with Paul (might still be on if you are very quick) and what I was told by the L6 person that the entire first batch for the UK has been exceeded by pre-orders.  Therefore the Stores will be reporting "in-store" dates for the second batch which might be late October or early November but that a significant amount of that batch was still going to be completing pre-orders, so if you order now there is a good chance for around the end of the month, but that free stock in stores might not be available until the batch after that.

Helix looks great, sounds great, is easy to edit, really responsive...etc. basically what everybody else said. Sounded good for a group of different players in completely different styles.

Yeah, we'll see. I ordered it based on the 25th September date as I need it for a Euro tour later this month. If it's not in Friday think I need to cancel the pre-order and just go back to running a small board... :(

Yeah, I'm feeling the same, got quite a hectic gigging schedule up to Christmas and was hoping to have this in place...this "unknown" is a little shoddy, not Line 6's fault as much but more the distributors (Yamaha) and their updates to the stores on ETA's...I'm still waiting for PMT (where I pre-ordered months ago) to give a definitive..

Spot on. Some might say I'm being spoilt or something, but the fact is - I (we?) were told the 25th September, and now assured the 9th October. Certainly made me think twice about pre-ordering something like this again, and the lack of info from Line 6 and Yamaha really isn't filling me with consumer confidence.

I'm actually about 50-50 now as to whether or not it's worth it after all. D'oh!

Update from PMT.....well not much of an update....still no news from UK distributor (Yamaha UK) as to when these units will be shipped, I'm still getting the whole Netherlands excuses at the moment.

Frankly an absolutely shocking level of service from Line 6 and Yamaha UK on this, one click away from cancelling the whole thing...

Andertons just told me it 'should' be with them on Monday. Probably just going to cancel the pre-order now, TBH - it's changed dates 3 times now so I don't hold any faith!

Pre-ordered from Andertons yesterday and got an e-mail saying stock isn't due in until the 30th November!

Thankfully I haven't got any gigs/projects lined up at the minute due to work commitments, so I can wait it out...

I received an email from Andertons on Friday saying that Line 6 have notified them that the units are now in the UK and will be sent to them early this week.  Andertons hope they will receive the shipment on Wednesday (14th) and they will endeavour to get them turned around ASAP.  From what I understand they get delivered to Yamaha UK first.  I think Andertons are as frustrated as the next man on the delay and lack of concrete dates.  Frankly, I've always found them to be a good bunch of guys and obviously they know that the longer the customer waits, the more chance they will cancel an order out of annoyance.

For what its worth, I'm hopeful anyway.  Fingers crossed!

For what it's worth, the expected stock arrival has changed on the main website from 30th Nov to 2nd Nov and for my particular order,  the due date for stock is now 19th Oct.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN THOUGH???

Sadly got an email saying:

"We have been chasing our suppliers and the most recent information we have on when the item(s) are expected to be delivered to our warehouse are listed below:

Line 6 Helix Floor pedal (Stockcode GHELIXUK) Expected delivery to our warehouse: 20/10/15

We apologise that this is later than we originally expected."

Luckily I'm not bothered either way.*

* This may be a total lie.

What a suprise.

Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence for Customer support.

The big question is ................... What have they been doing with the UK units..............

It now looks like Europe are getting them too, so it looks like UK units are somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle.

The least we should expect is a proper explanation, but looks like Yamaha and Line6 remain tight lipped.

Thanks guys ...........

Just had an email from Andertons confirming the dispatch of mine from Andertons to me today.  I think they received shipment from Yamaha either late last night or first thing this morning, so they have managed to turn them round quickly, thank goodness.

Fingers and toes crossed!

I just spoken again to Yamaha Uk and it appears they are only sending 2 units out to the Guitarguitar stores ?????????????? WTF.

Spoken to Guitarguitar and they can't say where these 2 are going WTF

Yamaha UK are are now saying "hopefully" the end of October, but they have no estimated date as yet ??????????? so my guess is, if they don't know by now then its gonna be a while yet.

Anyone else had any luck ??

This is quite disappointing to hear they're only sending out 2 units to Guitarguitar stores. I have mine ordered from Guitarguitar (Newcastle) and was told by them via email to expect my Helix to arrive end of October/early November. So when I read the shipment was due this week I was hopeful mine was in there. Guess not :(

I was told end of October from Guitarguitar and delivery early November.

I've been looking more and more at the Kemper.. i'm very tempted to cancel the order for the Helix and buy a Kemper

I also have a Kemper, so I'll be comparing the two and if needed sending the Helix back, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen.
