Hblum01
And this is why I love the helix and definitely give major respect to line 6 and the helix team. It will be very interesting when we fast forward five years and the helix is the standard in guitar modellers and line 6 is recognized for its support of its products.

In terms of their ability to deliver large quantities... 5 years is too long. That said, Axe and Kemper are standards, too. No doubt. And HD 500 already was the standard in ITS class... I've found their support to be great. ...so... yeah...
d0stenning
I've only had my Helix since friday - and frankly i'd love this thing EVEN IF the sounds and amp sims were was exactly the same as my old Pod HD 500 ! The benefits of the colour LCD screen user interface and those scribble strips and colour LEDs - is the KILLER APP in my opinion !

robbieb61
Also hoping the S/PDIF cutting out will be addressed in the update. :)
HonestOpinion
Well, then I guess I'd have to change my mind after the fact, and if possible, retroactively. For the type of stuff I play/write, I don't really need an extensive palette of amps. Every time I go to make a tone, the end results are really quite similar, regardless of what I choose to use. I find effects much more useful. I know I'm in the minority on this though. I am also more 'amped' about more effects, particularly another phaser option, but there are a multitude of categories where the effects choices can be expanded. Really psyched to see L6 stepping up on this as it was my biggest gripe with the Helix when I received it. Way to go!
robbieb61
3 channels...As I said earlier...hoping for the Bogner Ecstasy. But with my luck it will be models of the 3 channels of the old solid state Peavey XXL guitar head. lol

WhitzEnd00
From DI on TGP: Available later today:Helix Firmware v1.06.0 Release NotesHelix v1.06.0 is a firmware update that includes new models, features, fixes, stability improvements, and optimizations. It is highly recommended that all Helix users perform this update! It is also recommended that you back up your current presets by using the Helix application to create a preset bundle, allowing you to install new presets as part of the update process. The easiest way to perform the update process is by installing the latest version of Line 6 Updater. Once you've connected Helix to your computer via its USB port (hubs are not supported), Line 6 Updater will recognize the unit and take you through the update process. Both theHelix application and Line 6 Updater may be downloaded here: http://line6.com/software/New Amp Models Matchstick Ch1, based on* Channel 1 of the MatchlessTM DC30 Matchstick Ch2, based on* Channel 2 of the MatchlessTM DC30 Matchstick Jump, based on* jumping Channels 1 and 2 of the MatchlessTM DC30 New Effects Models Distortion > Teemah! Press Knob 6 (OK) When touch-holding a footswitch to invoke Quick Footswitch Assign (or touch holding two footswitches to swap their assignments), the dialog panel automatically closes after four seconds Bug Fixes In rare cases, assigning a parameter to a footswitch may briefly display the parameter’s value above Knob 1 (Parameter) on the Controller Assign page —FIXED After returning to a preset while the looper is active, the Looper block and/or half-speed footswitch’s LED may not properly reflect its state(s) —FIXED In some cases, a Command Center > CC Toggle footswitch’s LED may not properly reflect its state —FIXED Helix may fail to respond when receiving a huge string of MIDI PC messages while on the Setlist view —FIXED After customizing the name of an auto-assigned EXP 1 block (Wah or Pitch Wham), the Volume Pedal may become unassigned —FIXED General stability improvements Other minor bug fixes and optimizations Other Improvements When selecting banks by pressing FS1 (BANK UP) or FS7 (BANK DOWN), FS6 now appears as CANCEL, letting you dismiss bank queue without changing footswitch modes Expression Pedal 2 and 3 can now adjust values in Pedal Edit mode Factory presets leveled Additional improvements made to the factory preset bundle Resetting Helix Globals / Loading the Newest Factory PresetsIMPORTANT! This procedure will completely overwrite all existing presets and setlists, as well as clear all user IRs and reset all global settings! Back up your presets and IRs before proceeding! robbieb61
Shocker on the amp model. Guess those of us that guessed Bogner XTC were wrong. Great amp...but man...people have been screaming for a Bogner XTC for years now (going back to all the Line 6 products). Seems kinda strange that they don't do it.
MartinDorr
Maybe a business agreement? Unless there are 2 of them, a Bogner did their DT power amp section ;-)

ltraklasik
How long has Glenn had access to the new FW or is he really this good? I have purchased all of his Helix patches and swear by them!
glideman
Are you going to post the matchless patches on your downloads page? I have everything else, I might as well buy some more. LoL

robbieb61
The X3's had it. I would *love* to hear a Helix version! :D I never had the X3. I had the Vetta and the HD500. I did own a Bogner Ecstasy head (along with about 30 other awesome guitar heads over the years)...and it was a great sounding amp. Loved all 3 channels of it.

Wow...I bet. Color me jealous for sure! :D The only real amp I've ever owned was a Mesa/Boogie Road King (1st version) head with a Recto 4x12 cab. Nice, but in an unexpected way, I'm much happier with my rig now.
glideman
I had the Road King II head... was a nice amp. Brutally loud... but nice. I usually ran it with just a pair of tubes in 6L6 mode or EL34 mode.
PeterHamm
And how did you get 1.06 before the rest of us? LoL Beta testers had it only a VERY short while before it was shown at NAMM. A couple days I think, no more. I found a great Matchless tone in seconds with it, though, so I'm not surprised that Glenn already had it workin'. skategeezer
How come they keep posting about new firmware on other sites and not right here where their customers are at? Kinda sucks to have to hear it second hand. You mean like this? http://line6.com/support/topic/17938-helix-fw-106-available-next-week/
tagwap
That statement was issued AFTER Robbie made his comment as you can see from the date stamps so yeah, like that!
aggravation
I think if you compared at the volume/frequency of 'customer' posts in each location then you see they went to the right place first...
