Bangha
Hi everyone, I just got MY JTV59 a few hours ago, plugged her into my computer using the provided interface and cable, now the cable is stuck in the guitar jack. I fear breaking anything by pulling too hard, but it sure is stuck in there. Any suggestions? Has anybody experienced similar?
cruisinon2
There's a little clip release you have to push. Can't just yank it out like a 1/4" cable. If you're already doing that and it's still jammed in there, I'm out of ideas...
Bangha
Yup, I've pushed on the clip....nothing. It should just slide out like any other network cable. I'm very frustrated right now. Bought a Helix, footswitch failed a couple of days in, BRAND NEW variax, now this.....
psarkissian
Press on the clip, push connector in, then out. Don't pull too hard.
silverhead
I have also found that the spring-loaded VDI jack cover on the JTV sometimes catches on the cable shield and provides resistance against a smooth unplugging. I have to retract the cover with one hand, press on the clip with the other hand and then find a free finger or two to unplug the cable. psarkissian
Right,... that too, thanks silverhead.

Play barefoot....never know when you'll need an extra appendage. ;)
Charlie_Watt
This is a common problem with that cable. The tab that locks it in should be removed from the jack in the shell.
Rocco_Crocco
Sometimes the tab goes under the clip. This happened to me. I carefully pushed the blade of a small screwdriver onto the clip to disengage it. From the on I made sure the tab was in the right spot before I inserted the cable into the Variax. Good luck. psarkissian
Sometimes the cover door hangs up, jamming against some contour on the connector casing. Yeah Rocco,... that works too, so Bangha, just be careful when you try that.
Bangha
Thanks everyone for your help. After LOTS of careful jiggling, shimmying, wobbling and pulling the cable came out, guitar in perfect working order. Odd, but something must have got caught. Luckily she's alive! Charlie_Watt
Remove the plastic tab that is on the side of the Ethernet connector. That is what hangs up in the jack. It is not supposed to be there when you have the shell.
