...is it Rev D (For use with Helix Firmware 2.00)?

I have just updated Helix to 2.12 and fancied printing the latest manual, I'm old fashioned like that.

Just wondered if the above is the latest version, as that's the one that came up in my search results.

Yes, that is the latest one. There are few features added in 2.10 that aren't mentioned in that manual, just fyi. The auto-engage feature for expression pedals being the main one. Line 6's position is that they will release a new manual for every major release (major meaning the first number, so the next one would be 3.0), and not the smaller ones.

Excellent, thank you.

So let's hope that means that Graemey ultimately has to print out another 10-20 manuals.... ;)

It will be quite welcome when the next iteration of the Helix User Guide PDF arrives coincident to Firmware 3.0 (whenever that may be)!

Since 2.00, fw 2.10 brought some very nice addtions. Firmware 2.11 and 2.12 were minimal releases. Since July 2016, when 2.00 was released there have been numerous User Tips and Tricks and Line 6 informative posts suggested for inclusion in or as an appendix to the next Helix User Guide. And, with the already announced numerous features of Firmware 2.20 (expected to be released later this Month), whenever firmware 3.00 eventually arrives there will be plenty of new content for the 3.0 User Guide.

For the time, being, it is up to the User collect the various Release Notes from Line 6's site, and follow the various threads on these Forums and on TGP, as well as the several Helix Wiki and Helix Line 6 Help sites, all in the effort to accumulate the information. A somewhat cumbersome task at best.

My guess is that once this Spring's upcoming releases of Helix Native and the updated version of Helix Editor have been released, Helix firmware 3.0 will not be far behind to leverage the capabilities of Native and Editor.

I remain confident and optimistic that if Line 6 does their preparation, drafting, and editing well, the new User Guides for these products should be exceptional!

Moreover, in the interim, as the existing Helix User Guide PDF's Security Settings allow Highlighting and Comments, this is one method to aggregate all of your Helix infomation. I certainly do hope that Line 6 maintains this Security Settings permission through future User Manual releases.

Soon as the code update gets written for the day and the trash gets emptied and floor vacuumed, I'm sure he will get around to updating the manual.

If they could just get DI to do anything over there besides hang out on the forums....  ;)

I know, right?

The main reason we don't constantly update the manuals isn't laziness—it's the sheer effort and financial cost of translating it into 20+ languages, something that's required by many countries to sell there. Translating a Facebook or blog post is cake; translating a technical document takes serious skill and specific domain knowledge.

Plus, by the time one update is fully translated into all the necessary languages, we'd have the next update ready to go.

+1  I never realized the Helix user manual was editable. Great observation and tip! I don't have a full version of Adobe, only the Reader, but I was able to pull the manual up in Microsoft Word and make edits. The Word conversion process tends to concatenate certain groups of words for some reason so it can be a bit messy in spots after the conversion but this is a great way to document your own tips & tricks right in the manual. Thanks!

You don't need a paid subscription to Acrobat to do markups, Reader will do them.  My subscription only covers Lightroom and Photoshop for my photo and design work, and I use Reader DC for PDF handling.  When you open a document there should be a "Comment" option on the right sidebar, which will open a toolbar near the top.  That toolbar gives you specific tools for highlighting or underlining text, adding comment blocks, and the like.  You're not actually editing the content of the file, just making notes as you might in a paper manual.  It's a lot cleaner that way.  Below are where you can enable the toolbar and start using it.

Thanks for the  tip on 'Adobe Reader DC'. I had been using a different version of the reader (just Adobe Reader) but I tried it in Adobe Reader DC (which is free) and was able to comment in a much better formatted document than Word provided after a conversion. The way the comments work makes it easy to keep the original text and your own additions well delineated.  I found changing the properties for the comment placemarkers to red made them a bit easier to notice them although it would be nice if you could make them larger and easier to pick out in the text. A great tool for enhancing the Helix manual though and definitely renders a more faithful version of the original doc than a Word conversion. Thanks!

Keep 'em coming people if you know of a good free tool for editing pdfs.
