Hey guys ... I was just wondering if anyone has tried to bring up Axe Fx presets using free edit software and emulate to Helix? I've seen a guy named Edo Sound do a ton of good U2 sounds in packs for sale wondering if it would be possible to copy at least?

Square peg, meet round hole... they are completely different platforms. You can't expect any continuity just by copying settings from one to the other. If you want to mimic something you've heard from an Axe FX using identical settings.... then you need an Axe FX.

Why?

That’s got to be an exercise in total futility!

See what sort of reaction you get if you go over to the Fractal forum and ask if anyone there is trying to rework Helix patches.

I think if you are so impressed with the U2 tones available you should get an Axe FX to use them.

The trouble with this sort of thing, is simply the fact that only the Edge (or whoever else you choose) will ever sound like them. Everything else is a cheap pastiche - you really need to do what they did - create your own signature sound.

Anyone else in here remember ”itsslash” or was it “Iamtheone” and can the Helix sound like Andy Summers - aaaaarrrrrrgggg!

Very interested in that. Have you found a freeware to read the axe format? I want that too.
