phantomblot
I have a '17 Helix Floor that was serviced by a line6 repair shop locally (new PSU), that came back with a screen that turns all white seconds after boot. No information is ever shown on the screen. I can play through it, and all the footswitches work and the buttons and dials around the screen works (as I can see things happening in HXEdit), I can use HXEdit, but nothing happens on the main lcd. It is just white. What I have done: 1. Connect to HXEdit and backed up. 2. Tried to restart multiple times, tried waiting between restarts, disconnecting mains. 3. Tried all the various reset options (FS 5+6, FS 7+8) 4. Updated to FW3.60. Screen still all white. Any last resorts?
rd2rk
It sounds like you've done everything I would do to troubleshoot it. Did you test it at the shop that serviced it to verify that they actually fixed it and it works? Either way you're entirely at the mercy of the shop, who can claim it worked when you picked it up and you broke it. Basically, you have two choices. Take it back to the shop and see what they say. Contact support and see what they say. Unfortunately, I have seen many horror stories about local shop repairs. If mine ever breaks it will go to Line6 for service. I had a problem with mine shortly after I bought it (2016) and I had it back in under a week. If you're gigging, you DO have a backup, right? If not, believe it or not, you CAN gig with a lowly Spider or Mustang or Katana, all available used most anywhere (except maybe the Outback) CHEAP and probably available to rent until you get it back. Good Luck!
Schmalle
Since the firmware seems to work normally I'm 99% sure for it to be a hardware problem.

As it was dead when I sent it for repairs (PSU gone, lightning main suspect), there is no telling if the screen went before it went to the repair shop. A bit strange if they did not check if the unit was functional before shipping it back to me though. I will check with my insurrance company it they want to pay for more troubleshooting and shipping or if they just pay out for the broken unit. If they pay out, I will open the unit and try to see if there are any obvious loose or broken cables near the screen or something. My backup is Helix Native, so looking like a complete nerd with a laptop and fiddling to change snapshots using the mousepad :-D

Having said that, it might be worth talking to the Line 6 repair shop, because they may have a warranty on the repair, and be willing to check out the problem. Don’t be tempted to try to fix it yourself, as everything else works correctly, it may be as simple as a bad connection. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Asking whether the screen worked after their repair doesn't cost you something.

Unless it's totally screwed up inside aside from the screen. Although using USB seems to add a significant amount of noise for most people including me. Just a thought. rd2rk
I've never noticed added noise using USB for anything, but latency might be an issue using Helix as your AI with Native. Best RTL I can get with Helix as AI is 12.6ms. That's on a 7th gen i7 with 16gb and compares poorly with the 7.6ms I get using my 2nd gen Scarlett but still might be useable depending how sensitive you are to latency. BUT... if everything works except the screen just play through the Helix as you normally would and use HX Edit in place of the Helix screen. Having a laptop at a gig is a PITA, but if you can't get it fixed you do what you gotta do!
line-6-user
It may be a simple loose LCD cable connection. I too had my other Helix Floor repaired by an authorised line 6 shop. When it came back, the screen failed on switching it on, it had a blank screen. As the device was only a few months old, the shop replaced it for a new one. My hunch is a disconnected data/ribbon cable.
