kittyhooch
Line 6 Monkey shows version 2.21 of 2.23 with a yellow triangle and exclamation point. Central can't find it. Every attempt to updated or rollback to any version fails with the yellow triangle and a MIDI code of 80009000. I can't use the USB interface, just the Helix. I've been living with it but today the Helix with VDI cable didn't seem to work. A cat 5 cable produced the same result. This had happened before but started working. In trying to get things working I found that I could remove the battery from the guitar with the VDI cable plugged in and a guitar cable plugged in and the Variax worked. So the VDI cabe supplies power and it turns off when removed. This is a severe concession. I susoect if I could reset the Variax it would probably work. psarkissian
80009000 is a MIDI time out error. Using the Helix for an interface for update should work. What version Firmware is the Helix?
silverhead
The Helix should work as an update interface using Line 6 Monkey. However for some reason it wouldn’t work for me using Line 6 Central.
psarkissian
What silverhead said. Line 6 Central isn't set-up for Variax right now, so use Monkey for checking and updating Firmware.

psarkissian
3.71,... very good. Try using a Google or Firefox browser, and open Monkey using that,... if you aren't already.
kittyhooch
After trying everything I could think of I used HD Workbench to do a backup and the VDI cable works now. That was the primary issue as I think it is fairly good otherwise.
