Pedal before HX Stomp

I'm looking at putting a pedal before the Stomp so i can get a level input from different guitars.

It's so if use a Tele' I'll have the same input as a Les Paul into the stomp.

I just wondered if anyone had any good results from pedals.

I'm thinking of the Boss LM-2

Why would you use a limiter? IMO a plain booster would be a better choice.

Anyway, regardless of the type of pedal, you'll lose the flexible input impedance feature of the Stomp once the external pedal is on or in buffered bypass mode (such as all Boss pedals).

For equalising input levels between different instruments you might want to take a look at this - not cheap, but very reliable.

Here's another trick you can use: build your presets to allow for multiple inputs.

Or use left and right input, one for each guitar.

 

Make a custom colored "Tele" footswitch:

Put in a gain block in the first position and Controller Assign the gain parameter to a footswitch with two gain settings, one for each guitar.

Rename the footswitch "Tele", give it the led color that your Tele has (in Command Center -> Customize) and set the Max Value for gain to work with your Tele (in Controller Assingn for the Gain block). Set the Min Value for the Les Paul.

I wouldn't use a compressor or limiter for this job... 

 

The BOSS LS-2 would be better for this, it is a line selector. In the correct mode you could manage 3 different guitars... one would be direct in, normally that would be the primary guitar then two others would have a separate volume cut or boost.
