  1. After all that faffing about... it turns out there was a tiny piece of material stuck in the CAT6 cable's plug at the Control end... cleaned that out and it worked instantly. This doofus will now get his coat and retire in embarrassment.

  2. This makes me wonder if you think Snapshots allow changing of the effects in each slot - they don't. This provides the basics on what snapshots are and how to use them

  3. Maybe you the Helix input impedance is set too low?

  4. My apologies. I've been telling you to use a Value of 0. Try 127. Apparently, during my first test I recorded Snapshot changes. While my SS1 CC Values were set to 0, when the recording changed to SS2 they were set to 127 so without noticing the SS change I was using 127 the whole time! DOH! What a dummy! Anyhow, I re-did the test on my studio system with Helix connected thru my Focusrite and using 127 as a Value all is well. That SHOULD work for you. Snapshots aren't sending because you have "Snapshot CC Send" set to OFF. Sorry for the mix-up.

  5. Likely this, as you're using PGO + whatever modeling the Katana is doing. 1) How is the Go plugged in the katana? Are you using 4 cable method? One way to bypass at least some of the katana modeling would be to connect the Go to the effect loop of the katana, if yours has one... 2) But also, depending on the patch you're connecting 'into' with the Go, might be that there's some compression or something... 3) I also recall that there's a setting in the global settings of the Go to set the output of I think main out instrument, so if you're using that, make sure it's instrument as it's probably what the Katana is expecting for its guitar or effect loop inputs. I'm guessing otherwise might 'overload' and maybe cause feedback?

  6. Thanks DC - it underlines that even with technically complex gear like Helix, it's wrong to jump to conclusions about hardware and firmware, and should look at the flippin' obvious culprits first. Control had been disconnected and the cable coiled up for some time while I was drilling holes, sawing wood etc., so I should have thought about checking the physical connection much earlier before a marathon session of updates and frustration.

  7. Using a completely empty preset with input/send/return/output levels properly set to INSTRUMENT or LINE as required that should not be the case. Read the respective manuals to find out what those settings need to be. DO NOT ASSUME!

  8. TS cable (standard guitar cable, not TRS) connected to the OUTPUT of that EXP is your best bet. If the sweep works but is in reverse, simply swap the polarity in the global settings. Keep in mind, not all EXP pedals work with Line 6. There are no shortages of threads about this topic.

  9. Make sure USB switch on back is set to Mac PC Restart system and try again. Did you Install drivers before connecting amp? If not, remove the drivers, and reinstall before connecting the amp to USB.
