Line 6 Mission EP1-L6 expression pedal not recognized
jpdennis replied to mkopec's topic in Helix Stadium
Did you go into global settings -> switch/pedals -> Control (A or C) to match the type of EXP pedal your using? Instead of TRS you might want Tip. Forgive me if you've already done this and it is still not working. -
Is there going to be a tethered USB editing option?
jpdennis replied to crispsandwich's topic in Helix Stadium
It would be nice to have USB tethering for the app other than updating. Currently I am using the usb tethering via headphones plugged into the Stadium for playback from my DAW and initial matching tones to the songs prior to going FRFR for final adjustments. -
Odd, mine didn't overwrite they just kept appending, or I'm misunderstanding. Plus I edited my response with more information based upon my slots NOT being overwritten.

silverhead, yes. Today I created three custom setlists. I added a preset to 1a-1d in each one. I then deleted the setlist and the 12 presets I created were in the USER setlist view. They were created in an empty setlist slot after the 5 I initially created in the USER setlist (1A-2A) which means I had 12 more starting at 2B and so on. I then deleted those 12 as well. For some reason I wasn't thinking about aliasing. Sorry for not being clearer. Also, in the USER setlist I decided to count the number of slots which totaled 512. For clarity, I am using the preset numbering set to 1A-128D. I was a little confused until I noticed something in the lower right where the CC Midi codes are. At the very last slot 128D showed "setlist (CC32):4" "preset (PC): 127" "snapshot (CC69):0. So I decided to go down the list of preset slots and at what I would assume would be preset 129 which is 33A in my case, the screen read "setlist (CC32):2" "preset (PC): 0" "snapshot (CC69):0. It appears the user setlist is a group of 4 sub-setlists containing 128 presets (0-127) each from midi cc perspective. The capability of snapshots, in my mind, doesn't change the preset count by a factor of 8 as snapshots only adds functionality for triggering various combinations of block settings (on/off, value changes, etc.). I no longer have my Helix Floor to check so I used my DAW to view the Helix Native plug-in. I may be mistaken, but it looks like in the helix floor we had two folders for Factory presets, five folders for user presets, and one folder for templates. So, unless I miss the mark, we really only have been reduced in user preset count by 128 over all. Templates are now accessed via the hamburger menu with the New Preset feature and factory presets are locked and currently only have 64 available slots so I do not know if as newer F/W upgrades come out that will stay static in number or increase. So having 512 user presets works for me. And for organization purposes it may be we can have several custom setlists and in each of those we create our presets. The presets will stay in the USER setlist regardless of whether we keep the custom setlist or delete them. To address the OP, this may be better since if you are in 5 bands and need 5 hours of songs without repeat in each group (300 songs at 12 songs per set), they could still be organized a per-band way. Have to go to medical checkups so I won't be back to read further feedback until after 4pm Pacific time. Thanks again for your direction. jpd

Tap tempo, does the number appear on the LCD screen???
jpdennis replied to lightsky's topic in Helix Stadium
If you just quickly touch the tuner switch with your finger (or bare foot like Ronnie Van Zant) it will display along the lower inspection bar on the touch screen. Maybe not the best method if you need it on all the time. But that is a temporary look at the tempo if nothing else -
I'll know more by the middle of December as I go through the manual slowly. I will keep you posted. I did discover that when I set up two custom setlists, they each had the same number of preset slots that were unassigned like the USER list. I made some simple and quick presets in each for about a total of 25 in each and then deleted each setlist in a one-two click. Again, I wasn't aware of any aliasing going on. But I am sure more will be revealed as time goes on. I know little at this point.

You can create a new setlist by pressing upper left knob and create a new setlist, name for one band, and then you have a select group of presets for that band. I do not know what the limit is but that is one way to have separate setlists for each band you work with. Once you have your custom setlists created for each band you then have the option to use the Manage Setlists (currently grayed out) to delete whole setlists you create in one click if you'd like. Using silverhead's suggestion to backup for restoration is a great idea if you want to save space, however, I have yet to determine the limit since it appears only saved presets take up any real estate .

I have read the Stadium online manual from beginning to end. I realize it cannot be in download format because of the embedded videos. So, whether that is good news or bad news it is, in my humble opinion, just news. I realized answers to about 80% of the questions so far, including my 60% of questions, are in the manual. There are few typos regarding XL versus no XL but Line 6 may correct them once the non XL ships. I, for one, will be sitting down for about a week going through each step of the manual. The various sub displays on the touch screen make it worth it for me. If I am not back in a week that means I wasn't able to shower after woodshedding and my wife isn't allowing me in the house until I go YMCA and shower there. I can only speak for myself in that, after reading the complete manual and checking the videos, it will be well worth the trouble for me. Wish me luck. jpd

Hope this helps as well - In the list view for amps (not legacy amps) there will be a thin gray line and any amp above is Agora and those below are HX.

I had an issue working with three groups for several years using the Helix. I setup the first 6 presets as "Goto" presets. In other words, each button has a preset assigned to it to "goto" with a "come back to" button on each one for the group that would change it up ever so often on stage. For the by the book setlist groups it was very easy. One button in each setlist just took me to the next song etc. etc. Of course midi is my best solution. Just my type A personality.

decreebass, I think I know what you are saying. I did as you suggested and the "settings" from focus view are saved while the location of the circle on the focus view screen is not saved. I set every setting in the Ampeg SVT 50th to be controlled by snapshots. When I change the snapshot I do see the settings changing for each snapshot. I can see where this lack of moving the circle within focus view to the snapshot could be annoying if, after all your hard work to dial in the settings for, say, 8 snapshots the focus view screen is not tracking as you expected. If the settings were very subtle it would even appear that nothing is tracking even though it is. Not sure if it is a true bug or if Line 6 is aware and they are working on this along with the other promises for the future they have made. Or am I missing something else? Please let me know. I have personally sent in several support requests over time. In fact I just sent one in Saturday and hope to hear back by Wednesday this week. Line 6 usually responds within 3 to 5 business days. Once they respond, I will broach this issue as well. just plain dennis

From the specs, the Expand D10 boasts an 8-channel optical out to increase connectivity with audio interfaces, multi-connector breakout boxes, and digital mixers (I will leave out the and more since I do not know what that means at this time). As we were told, the Stadium has been released knowing more features are coming via the F/W updates. There was the day one update and Eric shared one should be here by the holidays (I'm thinking he meant Christmas). Then one more early 2026. From my experience beginning early 2016 the updates will keep coming. This Stadium has been designed as quite the workhorse. It will be able to provide playback capability as well as improved recording capability, stage control on several levels, and there will be some "we shall see" moments come true. I am not a fanboy however I do know that with the way Line 6 support the M class foot pedals, the HD series, and my Helix Floor I am relatively confident we will not be disappointed as the Stadium grows over time. Plus, Eric and several of the vloggers on YouTube have been very transparent by sharing the "in the future features" that will become common place once the alpha, beta, and RC tests are done to release the updates over time. Now, I am just thinking ... with the nexus connection, "Could Line 6 Stadium think-tank engineers be holding back more that could be coming our way to include future hardware with extreme features we haven't thought of using this nexus connection?" The Expand D-10 may very be just the tip of the iceberg. "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." a shout out to John Lennon jpd

"The small, cylindrical component is made of a semi-magnetic material (ferrite) and is placed around the cable to suppress high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI)." ... a quote from a search. Much more succinct than I would have said. The choice is yours, however, my stance is that I would always use the power cord that comes with the Stadium.

Helix Stadium editor disconnects from every ~20 seconds(WiFi connection)
jpdennis replied to mlong's topic in Helix Stadium
mlong, Have you looked at this topic? It may not apply to you, however, just a thought since I do not know your Wi-Fi environment nor if you are using a proxy or software VPN on your PC as well: I am using the Bitdefender version and split tunneling. In addition, as another retired IT guy, I have a ticket in due to the TOTP code 330 error. This is either TFA or a clock issue so I am awaiting Line 6 support to help decide the proper solution. just plain dennis -
Windows 11 Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
jpdennis replied to GrumpyOldPunk's topic in Helix Stadium
I remember a setting in Windows 11 concerning "Fast Startup and USB Selective Suspend in power options" needing to be disabled. Core isolation was already addressed with the last Helix driver update. I will need to get a USB-C to USB-A for my computer. -
Thanks silverhead. I wasn't sure how that would work. I was just speculating. I will have to get the correct USB-C cable for is.
-
I humbly agree. And this forum does possess a great search capability to check for answers to a question you may have that have already been addressed; as a caveat I'd suggest looking at the Helix Floor forum for anyone new to the Helix family just to see what's there that may be close to your question. My OCD has had me read & view a lot of vids since 11/18/2025, read the manual & then reread it, even though I'll be woodshedding for a few weeks (or maybe even two months) while I try to use my DAW before even using the Stadium live.

I am testing an idea I have next week. I loaded the ASIO driver for the Stadium and Reaper now recognizes it as a choice. Using VST3 I have yet to see what I can do to implement the driver. I am thinking I will need a Stadium App interface and not the HX Edit. But I have "Too Much Time On My Hands"! just plain dennis

From the reading the Expand D-10 does a lot more. For those using the Variax it may be that the low price points are well worth the purchase. However, as silverhead points out, it is a personal choice. Just my humble thoughts.

Welcome to the family! Many of the users in these forums have been of great help to everyone learning how to use Line 6 products as well as adding value with ideas for improvements to the Line 6 developers. There are too many to name though new comers will be able to recognize the best by their courtesy, humility, graciousness in learning from even the newest members, and vast & accurate knowledge they have and will share. Having had the Helix Floor since it first became available the week after I purchased then returned the HD500 for the Helix (many years ago), I can see many other things that have improved from the hardware side like the ease of adjusting the Pedal tension as just one example (great details in the little things usually means great details in the bigger things). For those who never had a Helix Floor or Rack, the new Stadium, which I just received two hours ago, appears to have easier interfaces and various settings already fine tuned. Having said that, please use your ear for your sound. We are all creators regardless of age, current ability, and experience. Thank you to the Line 6 Stadium developers! I know I don't know what I want know tomorrow! Just Plain Dennis

Will you rework your old presets with new models?
jpdennis replied to Nos402's topic in Helix Stadium
For myself, I am going to create from scratch. I found this very easy in the Helix since the only limit to what can be done is not just DSP, it is my ability to create. Having used a lot of the earlier amps models from 1950s to about 2012 I just approached the amp setting like I would the analog compliment and use my ear to fine tune for my preferred sound. Everything else was just "I wonder what would happen if I did this?" kind of approach for placement and settings even though I also had the opportunity to use many of the analog pedals as well. If you want 8 stomp switches AND up/down bank/preset
jpdennis replied to Nos402's topic in Helix Stadium
I sold my Helix the first week of July once I had ordered and using all my analog gear while I was waiting. Over the past few days since the Stadium was released for delivery I have been watching both Steve Sterlacci and Jason Sadites. They have been inspirational as well as challenging me to dive deeper into the ways of tone creation during the past several years of my 10 year experience with the Helix Floor. I know there are more content creators out there for Line 6 gear, but I just wanted to give them a shout out as well as hopefully be helpful by sharing what I am doing to prepare for this new hardware. -
If you want 8 stomp switches AND up/down bank/preset
jpdennis replied to Nos402's topic in Helix Stadium
I will be receiving a Stadium XL tomorrow unless weather slows down the fast route from the bay area. Steve Sterlacci has a nice video on YouTube that addresses this question as well as goes into a "and more" ways to use the scribble strips. -
Well, I have removed my Helix Floor from my registered gear because it sold two days ago. I have pre-ordered the Stadium XL and, for one, am looking forward to the new learning curve. What comes over from the Helix Floor will be not that much of a change. And Line 6 does over the next series of updates isn't of concern because their support for my Helix floor has been outstanding. I thought it would be wise to address this now in case anyone notices I have no registered gear. Anyway, cheers to the new system! I just want to play, create, and enjoy my craft! Dennis
