  1. I purchased the Helix Advance Replacement within time. Thought I needed to use it but it was merely a block change issue. Still, having this piece of mind is worth it.
  2. WickedFinger, Nice ... I use the Flux Drive as well and find it very organic and musical while being more pronounced in the mix of things. I was having my Heartbreaker repaired when these pedals first came out and Rich sold me on it. He, oh so subtly, said ... "While your waiting for the paper work why not see what you think of our brand new pedals. Try them all with this old LoneStar." Hahahaha Dennis
  3. I had an RMA sent to me back in September of 2016. Line 6 Tony explained that the warranty is a pickup of where my original warranty fell off as I purchased the original in March of 2016. Before I had the conversation with Tony I realized my original registration was gone due to the RMA so I went and set it up using the September 27th 2016 date which was wrong. I was able to correct this to reflect the March 8, 2016 date and attach the Guitar Center shipping email receipt of purchase as well as a snippet of the RMA support thread into a PDF as my proof of purchase. I also called support today to tell them I had made the mistake. The gentleman told me that they are a little flexible about the date due to the Guitar Center shipping versus ordering versus actual in my hot hands timeline so not to worry. In addition, two days ago I purchased the Extended warranty with instant replacement while at the shop. This provides me immediate shipping of a loaner until mine is returned. For me that type of cost versus the out-of pocket cost of full replacement is great peace of mind as a well as a small percentage compared to the costs other companies have "offered" me in the past. Line 6 is a rare breed to allow us this type of understanding, flexibility, and customer service. Just wanted to give a shout out to the CS and the whole Line 6 company. Dennis
  4. Too soon for me to tell. I should have some idea by this Sunday.
  5. I put this into Idea-scale a while back. Maybe it needs more votes. Or maybe it isn't doable. Not sure. I know Line 6 weights the requests, as they should, to better manager their resources. However, I thought I'd bring this back up in case anyone else would like to vote it up. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Boss-Slow-Gear-SG-1/818934-23508#idea-tab-comments Dennis
  6. Have you tried this? https://line6.com/customtone/tone/1706438/ It is a couple of years old and may need some fine tuning with the 2.50 upgrade. I had a patch I had modified from a set I bought from Glenn DeLaune the first year I owned the Helix but haven't used ti in some time and it is probably sitting in one of my backups pre-2.20 Good luck Dennis
  7. Here is a response from another link in the forum a while back http://line6.com/support/topic/27450-4-cable-method-woes/ from jaeger28 "Any in or out on the helix can go between line and instrument level. Obviously the output for the cable going from helix to your amp in should be instrument, now the cables from and to your loop, they should be instrument or line, depending on what the effects loop is built for, pedals (instrument) or rack gear (line)" Dennis
  8. This is a great idea. I am bending over and lifting my HELIX as well during dark setups trying not to fumble. Thanks for the idea!! Dennis
  9. Welcome and great choice! Of course the smile only gets bigger and cannot be surgically removed! ;) Dennis
  10. Phil, As always ... thanks for the clarification as well as sharing. Now about my next fixxxxxxxxxxxxxx! Gotta get me some 2.50 F/W love!!

    Ownership

Music, motorcycles, & technology. My life in a sentence! Or is that a phrase since there is really no verb or prepositions?
  12. With the coming v2.50 I am thinking about what to do for more variety. My question to all is this; Is anyone using XLR, or 1/4 via DI if Phantom Power cant' be disabled, out to PA as well as a mic'd guitar amp as well through the PA? What is the best blend you have found? Are you using L/R centered or coloring one side or the other? I really love the sound of the Helix straight to PA and only using the PA monitors or in-ears when available for "hearing" myself. But I am wondering about the possibilities now with the FX from the M-Series and any if not all of the DL4 thru xM4 Series I've been wanting to come to the Helix. So, anyone? Thanks in advance, Dennis

    HX

Phil, Thank you. You have answered my question. I remember when I first got my Helix (wow, has it been almost two years?) this forum had many users asking about the M-Series FX blocks being added (are they, aren't they, why aren't they). Looks like great things are worth waiting for. It also looks like Line 6 has responded to the Helix users request for having Helix equipment at various pricing levels. So it looks like the Helix is the Flagship, the Helix LT is the mid cost, and the HXFX is for those who want the on-stage real amp with Helix quality Effects. Looks like my M-13 is going back on the "backup" pedal board. Amazing things happening. I can't wait to use the v2.50 when it comes out for the Helix and start playing around with all the capability it will have. Just when I thought I was satisfied. Line 6 never gives up which is very good! Dennis
  14. I do believe I am going to have to create a whole new array of patches. I hope I can bathe after a few months of wood-shedding! I wonder if my job and my wife will still be around. God I'm going to miss them. Dennis

    HX

The HX Effects literature is saying it has 100+ HX Effects includes the legacy effects from the M-Series and Stomp-box Modeler pedals. While it does say "legacy" and DI is using the same term can we all assume the "legacy" M series effects are really now truly HX (or whatever term best suits the Helix model) in the Helix 2.50? Thanks in advance, Dennis
  16. DI, does this mean that the Helix will have all the HX M-Series effects (100+) added at some point if not now? Man that would really relieve me of some real estate on my board. Holy Effects Boards batman!

    HX

Will this bridge? In other words, are the HX M-Series effects (all 100+) on the Line 6 HX Effects included in the 2.50 as true HX quality effects or am I seeing things?
  18. No difference for me. It works.
  19. So maybe the controversy could stem from Line 6 focusing on one set of FX blocks at a time; in this case 'verbs. That would be controversial especially combined with my poor grammar. ... Refer to no more Mondays
  20. Not sure if I jinxed myself. I did the global reset then restored just my IRs, Global Settings, and the two user set lists I had created. I then did a manual rebuild after the next reboot. I noticed all my cab IRs had the low and high cuts set to none for any and all patched that included those IRs; I believe the low cut was close to 84 and the high cut at around 6.5k with minor variance for the patches that used them. Also the USB was set to 5 instead of 1/2 but that was an easy fix with a simple twist of the setting knob (could this bug be something like the system thinking 1/2 = .5 without the decimal point?).
  21. I am probably extremely neurotic and/or anal ... I backed up using 2.20 first (found out that was a waste of time). Next I installed HX Edit, rebooted my laptop just because, then backed up the Helix. I then updated the firmware letting the Helix reboot: it rebooted no problem. Then I turned it off and used the FS9+FS10 cold start to clear the Helix's head; noted that the reboot was extremely swift. I then restored my IRs, Global Settings, & one set list which is my favorite. I then did FS10+FS11 cold start and all seems well with the universe. YMMV (Refer to my beginning statement) ;-)
  22. Verne-Bunsen +1 for the initial comment and for the insight. I have just upgraded; "after" my Saturday show due to work. It went very smooth. I had a RE 201 back in the day I would sometimes use when my tube echoplex was waiting for a new tape and can't wait to hear what this model will do based upon where in the path I put it.
  23. I have a show tomorrow night. And I am at work right now. Hmmm, should I just leave early and update then play through the night while adjusting for tomorrow night's performance ... OH YEA!!! Very cool information here. Thanks all and I will be watching Gelnn's video as well.
  24. Off for the next few weeks spending family time. Very blessed to have all the music jobs but sometimes it can grate on my family's desire to see one other (what a novel concept). But to the point, when i have time I am going tro try this and thanks for the 411. I am expecting this to use a little less processing with the hopes I may be able to squeeze one more block into my paths (just to see). Can anyone verify this is a benefit as well? Thanks again Dennis
  25. I'd also say that you and your friend should have the same firmware version just to be safe.
