  1. Yeah. I agree! Rum, or maybe just a general "Adult Beverage Hardware Solution". I kinda like a nice juicy NEIPA when I'm jamming and writing patches.
  2. And then you got the guys who take everything personally, lol. I get it, I'm definitely not uptight about when/how I get my updates (as long as they stay free, that is), but I personally preferred it when L6 didn't announce anything and just dropped stuff when it was finished, so there wouldn't be these threads in the first place, or at least they wouldn't go on so long. I love my Helix, I loved it the way it was when I bought it on from the GC preorder (even though GC was crappy about honoring the preorder instead of shipping all their first units to their "Platinum Stores" for off-the-floor sale), and I've appreciated all the little updates that have come along. The tuner was about the only one so far that's really had anything to do with my use, but I still appreciate it. It's one of those things where, should you choose to jump into the conversation, you're already playing a loser's game no matter which side you're on. If its seriously angering people from either side of the conversation, maybe those people need to take a few days off the internet, lol. At least its not some dude who already knows the Helix sounds like crap and then posts videos of obviously doctored studio tones and then won't take anyone's advice and then deletes the thread.
  3. C'mon man! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! We all float down here. Or something. Doesn't matter what gear forum you end up on, there will always be the guys who suck the manufacturer wang to no end. If its any consolation its worse on TGP, and there's other brand ball lickers that just wanna fight about whose digital amp sims have the nicer booty and whatnot.
  4. This circle jerk start a long time ago and probably won't end until there is a new generation of Line 6 modelers. Then it will start all over again.
  5. Got some material on YouTube, couple of albums on Spotify/Apple Music etc.. Gotta try and keep people interested if I wanna play shows with hobby bands!
  6. There is definitely some disconnect I think between people being intentionally sarcastic, people not getting the intention and getting butthurt, and then a bunch of silly arguing over dumb stuff in most internet forums. The Gear Page is about the worst because of the broad spectrum of ages/genre players. Sometimes it seems like the metal/djent music business is the only thing keeping some companies, especially smaller pedal builders and IR makers, in business. But those guys have realized that in a niche genre you need the income from signature gear to actually continue a career in music.
  7. Holy cow. Even if the sale was planned, it doesn't make any sense to broadcast, and since when do people just ask "Hey, can I get this for cheaper in a week or what?" I think I'm gonna start doing that. When I wanna order something from Sweetwater, I'm gonna message my guy and just be like "Hey man, can you get this ordered for me, and just apply whatever the next sale you're going to have will be ahead of time?" So, the easter egg was an online only/FB thing? That's how pop-up/easter egg sales work. Not everyone gets one, they last for a limited time. (face palm emoji)
  8. Dangerous. These forums are full of entitled d-bags.
  9. Yeah, its a big difference coming from pedals, but there's nothing wrong with the interface. As far as multi-FX go its about the best out there (that can do what it can do, anyways, I'm sure some of those little Zoom units are easier just because they can't do half of what Helix does), but at least you're willing to look at the manual. There are so many functions available that if you're not sure, its easy to get lost. I do think the iPhone comparison is a little silly, since an iPhone/iPad really only does a few things, but one of those things is loading apps that someone else has made to carry out other tasks. The manual and YouTube should get to you to figure out anything that just messing around doesn't. You have to put a looper block into a preset to get the Looper button, there's no universal looper that's always on.
  10. What do you use for sidefills so the people that are near the stage area can hear what is going on? Unless you've got a mini line array or something, there are going to be huge gaps in where people can hear the mix near center stage and about 8' back, as well as off to the sides. If you're running something like a pair of L1 systems in a coffee shop, I guess that makes more sense, but a typical "bar rig" with a couple of 12" or 15" mains on either side of the stage isn't going to provide much coverage to the front of the room. I love my IEMs, but even when we play places with excellent sound systems, there are still holes at the front and edges of the stage area that on-stage amps/speakers fill. I'd hate to move closer to the stage to enjoy some hard-working performers just to only hear drums when I got close.
  11. This thread is like a best of the best of the internet winners, lol. Carry on.
  12. So, set your second path input to receive the input from your first path instead of "Guitar/Multi", insert your shimmer, then drag it down to create a parallel path with nothing on the top line, then you can use the levels of split/combine blocks to adjust the level of shimmer to dry/amp tone without changing the level coming into your first path.
  13. I could maybe see a use for this kind of behavior if you were treating each Snapshot as a different rig and then switching to stompbox mode to turn stuff off/on, but it seems like it would be easier to just copy/paste to a new preset and then adjust from there. I would like to see a way to put it in "Snapshot Edit Mode" so you can change parameters in each snapshot without having to remember to bracket each setting you want to change. My only problem with snapshots is my dumbass forgetting to press the knob when I want to edit something.
  14. Depends on what region of France you picked it up from, aykchuwally.
  15. I doubt it's in the dictionary, so I guess it depends on who you play scrabble with. It's the noise redundant fanboys of ANYTHING make before they blindly defend some ridiculous point.
  16. I'm not disappointed with Helix, I'm not waiting around for firmware updates. I just found out there was a 2.71 update like last week. All the people who come in with "Herpadurr, don't expect this company to do what this company does, herpadurr." are totally unnecessary, though. I think the OP's original word choice made it sound a little more dire than was intended, but the conversation that followed has been beat to death around here. L6 knows what they need to do to stay competitive in the platform.
  17. I've already had this conversation across several forums. You jump into a market with known competitors, you gotta compete whether you make an official press release or not, or eventually you get dusted. I agree that when you buy something, buy it for what it does, not what you hope it will do. At the same time, when you buy into a market segment that's competitive and the previous competitors have established the status quo, you are going to be expected to "play ball".
  18. Oh cool, this conversation again. Yes, you should buy the device based on what it does today, not what you think it might do tomorrow. At the same time, Line 6 decided to step into a premium price point where competitors offer free (and in some cases, much faster, more frequent, and more expansive) updates with "bonus features", so its completely reasonable to expect them to follow suit. Hopefully their done expanding the product line for a minute so they can get all the software lined up and start dropping new amps/fx left and right a la Fractal.
  19. It's only unnerving because you're making it, lol.
  20. No lollipop? Was that added the same time as Snapshots? I swear I tried to set this up and couldn't get it going. Learn something new every day.
  21. I mean, really though what do you want them to do with three footswitches? I'd like it if functionality could meet my needs exactly. I'd like my big Helix just scroll through consecutive snapshots from one button so I don't have to worry about hitting a wrong switch live, but I don't imagine it's a commonly-requested thing. You could always add a small external pedal or MIDI controller to get back the functionality you're missing, but then you're no longer operating in just the "stomp" realm, but again, you can only do so much with three switches.
  22. I have one on a pole and one in wedge position in places where I need the sound reinforcement to be LOUD, but they're both behind me putting sound toward the audience. When we have a good PA and I don't need the volume, just one on a pole facing the audience for some front-row coverage.
  23. Mine Floor does that occasionally, and sometimes it will trigger if my socked foot is within a few inches of a switch. Honestly almost seems ambient-humidity-dependent. I just turn it off before I pack up before a show and it's never caused an issue.
  24. I'm not super familiar with the AC15, but that amp doesn't have an FX loop, right? If that's the case, think of the "preamp" only amp models as glorified dirt boxes and try them out into the front end set pretty clean. Don't use cab modeling (at least until you're comfortable with how everything works) into a regular guitar amp/speaker set up. To get the most out of the cab/full amp model features something like a pair of studio monitors or a small powered PA speaker are the way to go for amplification. The most important thing to remember if you start messing around with amp/cab modeling is that a monitor/PA speaker is not meant to sound like your amp sitting in the room with you. It's supposed to sound like whatever amp model and cab model you've selected has been set-up and mic'ed in an isolation room at a studio and you're in the control room listening back. If you keep that in mind you might be pleasantly surprised with the quality of sounds you can get out of a "full modeling" rig. Edit: not sure what your budget actually is, but Alto/Headrush make a nice little monitor.
