  1. so.....no effects packs yet? And the Firehawk gets ALL of the HD models (pretty much)?
  2. Are these "HD" updates of the POD Farm models or the originals. Not that it matters a whole helluva lot, just curious. Also I haven't seen any added effects or possible bundles.....more coming later this year? eh? eh?
  3. And I didn't see any effects packs...yet.... so more options down the road!
  4. at least they didn't tweet "GREATEST THING GUITARIST HAVE EVER SEEN READY TO REVOLUTIONIZE YOUR BATHROOM!" or something ridiculous like when they launched amplifi
  5. Its not a car, or a stompbox, its a digital device with updatable firmware....... and there are still bugs to work out. Also, Line 6 had created themselves a history of updates and available software add-ons in previous versions.... nobody is asking for us to send a free extra expression pedal, or even FREE amp models, just continue to develop the line as long as they can, given that is an option with a digital device. This argument doesn't make sense.
  6. Reverse -2 octave whammy for a simulated "tape slow down" effect. Toe down is no noticeable affect, toe up is two octaves....
  7. You're right, its not a bug, its a blatant misstep in the design process. No piece of musical equipment should use % to show pitch travel or EQ bands..... that really is a poor, immature design approach. The fact that they "can't" fix EQs suggests to me that the HD wasn't finished when they launched. IdeaScale is a holding place to keep the angry interrogating of Line 6 to a minimum in the official forums....
  8. I dropped my whole bundle of HD500 patches into my 500X when I got it, no issues so far.
  9. Spineshank has a very different tone from Deadsy/Orgy. I would think for Deadsy/Orgy you'ld want a digital distortion, max gain, with a front and rear EQ to make it clear....Half of Deadsy's tone, and Orgy's for that matter comes from just about every single guitar being doubled by a grainy synthesizer.
  10. I have tried them in-store and was very pleased. I don't need all the extra live sound DSP, or want to spend $1500 to have stereo amplification. A guitarcentric shape would be nice, but not absolutely necessary. I really liked the "mock" 4x12 that Jet City never launched, and I was kinda excited with the pre-relase amplifi images, cause I thought we were getting a stereo FR cabinet for our HD stuff. So, stereo output, combo-shaped form factor, DI I/O, no modeling, enough volume for gigging, and a price-point (well) under what a pair of L2T/M speakers cost....
  11. I've been saying/asking for this for years now!
  12. I've tried, its "okay" for me with single notes on the standard tuned strings, but I'm not covering SRV or Hendrix and I rarely stick to any six strings, let along the top six in my own music. I can hear it warbling through headphones, amp, or even after the fact recorded. I wanted to use it to drop a riff a 1/2 step just for a dramatic effect, but it can't deal with the low E/B strings of my 8s.
  13. Those are pretty good..... I can't get it to do that no matter where I put it in the chain. I also almost never play anything that sounds remotely like that.... maybe its all the tritones, 1/4 step bends, and chromatic atonalism that throws it off.
  14. I want to hear some these successes using the pitch glide for downtuning recorded.
  15. You're not getting lucky with it like the people who can get this to work..... I've never had ANY pitch effect inside a MFX that can track polyphonic consistently and accurately. If you want to play one note at a time, its fine, but anything polyphonic and it glitches and warbles at random times. Others will tell you to put in the front of your chain, or that it works fine, etc... which has never been the case for me.
  16. There shouldn't be a specific driver just for cubase with the POD. Are you settings from your project saved in an earlier version of Cubase the same as the current one as far the bit depth and I/O are concerned?
  17. You guys should have seen the pile of Epiphone Les Pauls I went through back in the day to find one that could even be set-up properly....sounds like some quality control issues. Isn't B-stock different than used?
  18. I may not always be on Digital_Igloo's side of an argument, but he does know his lollipop. Srsly, though....L6 quilts...
  19. If the board you're using has outputs on each channel, record EVERYTHING through an external interface in multitrack, so you can mix the live sound after the fact for non-venue listening.
  20. A real 5150 model, modified cab IRs, another EQ with REAL parameters, and advanced USB firmware to allow for wet/dry tracking.
  21. I kind of "burned" myself when I got the HD originally. I knew of the features availabe in the X3/XT line and really, really liked the modeling on the HD when I tried it. I was on my way to get the next Boss GT-series product when I purchased it. I ASSUMED (my fault) that all of the features of previous units such as full dual chains, multiple recording outputs with dry out via USB, internal re-amping, etc would just be there, because why would you take features out? So that was my fault. Getting dumbed down parameters, misleading language as far as the effects chain and DSP availability (I still think there should have been an asterisk after "up to 8 effects simulataneously" because in reality, its "possibly 8 effects simulataneously depending on which ones your choose and DSP availability") was a little bit of a disappointment. I can say that I may not have purchased Line 6 if I would have known they had no intention of doing model packs down the road like with previous units or how the DSP was allocated. But honestly, for the price, it is a phenomenal unit.
  22. I second the idea that if you can't provide some sort of hard info, just keep your fingers idle. Nobody likes the guy going "Oh, I've got something to tell you, but I can't tell you!"
  23. Alright, first thing, and maybe this is repetitive or you're aware, buy you can't take a good headphone patch, turn off the cab sims, crank it through a guitar amp, and have it sound good. You have to build patches from the ground up at the volume you plan on using, as level effects tone to a great degree. What kind of speakers are in your DIY 2x12? Also, a Jazz Chorus is a really bright, nearly full-range guitar amp, so you would probably have better luck with the cab sims on in that situation. I know the HD can sound amazing through a SS amp into guitar speakers with just the pre-amp models and no cabs, so there is either an issue with your unit, or another part of the chain/equation.
  24. You have to remember that the "punch" you hear in the guitar on all those bands listed comes from a combination of guitar, bass, and kick drum tones mixed together. If you solo'd the guitars on any of those albums, you'd probably be pretty disappointed.
