  1. Hey Stumblinman,,, i know i have mentioned it on another thread... but.. if you can find a Atomic Reactor FRFR second hand somewhere i'd jump on it... i have seen them for about 400 bucks and for that kinda money its a no brainer , they are amaaaazing.... i regret selling mine (although it was to a mate and made him promise he would never sell it!!!) :) My L3t arrives tomorrow. I hope its lives up to the hype.....! I am sure it will
  2. I would always add the compressor to the beginning of the signal chain, get all your levels sorted before you start layering effects. I generally always keep the settings pretty subtle for clean tones. Maybe if you are doing a lot of finger picking you could push the compression a bit more but generally (for me) heavily compressed squelchy clean tones are not desirable. Some times i also use it for gain for lead tones and would stick it right in front of the amp,, or even in the effect loop. for that i set the threshold up, sustain low gain up....
  3. yeah got mine for EUR600 ... pretty good deal.... will do me for full band jams as a monitor and for the solo gigs as a PA
  4. I just took the plunge and purchase a L3t...... its on its way to me as we...er...speak!!!! they do sound amazing....
  5. So folks, stumbled upon an interesting issue. I was hoping to use the SP VX attached to my iPad for backing tracks with the click panned hard left and the backing panned hard right. Turns out there is significant channel crosstalk on the VX which makes it impossible to use for this purpose (click bleeds into the right channel) Anyone stumble upon this ? anyone find an interface that has clean stereo seperation? curious to hear your thoughts!!!
  6. Was actually just looking at this not cheap but seems to have good reviews plus no batteries!!!
  7. Of Course!!!! my original issue was I wasn't panning the mixer (on the HD500x) hard left and right so regardless of which channel i chose as an input in Logic or MainStage i was getting both Mic and Guitar. Panning them makes them discrete inputs. so simple , how did i miss that. :) :) :) :) Thanks! So then my last request from my firmware wishlist is to decouple the headphone volume from the Master volume. I use IEM's (SE425's with moulded inserts) which are quite sensitive. At the moment i just use an inline attenuator (shure airplane adapter kit) but they aren't great.... and tend to kill tone. ..14 days left to namm... uhum..... c'mon Line6... get a room full of programmers, few litres of tea, some pizza.. in two weeks you can get this done.
  8. Can you? I will need to fire up the system in the morning and test it. Was almost positive it just combined into a single blended input
  9. To get back on track with the origional thread. I wonder if it's even possible for a firmware update to allow, when functioning as an AI via USB, the mic and guitar inputs to be seen as separate inputs. There may be some hardware restrictions tho. A use case for me: for solo gigs I would like to run Mainstage on the MacBook Air and have the vocal and guitar on separate channel strips with the hd500x connect via USB and functioning as the Audio interface. I can then trigger samples etc when need throughout the show.
  10. Not too fussed to be honest. It's just weird when jamming having it laying so low on the ground and elevating it would be tricky due to its elongated shape
  11. If you are looking to connect to your AV system then the TT is perfectly designed for this right down the the phono outputs. There are a good few Iommi tones on the tone cloud already. see attached snapshot. (thats not an exhaustive list but you get the picture )
  12. I hear ya.....annoys the woooza out of me
  13. Glad I am not alone... I am actually in the process of clawing back the Atomic Reactor FRFR I sold to a mate. I have yet to find anything that complements the HD500x as well as that does.
  14. yeah thats an interesting topic actually. how could an emulator recreate that feeling of having that amp sitting in front of you in a room pushing air, thumping your chest, i would push the boat out and say impossible..:-) BUT.......... thats probably not what you are going for when you buy a Digital Modeler..... Stick the TwoRock in a different room and stick a sm57 in front of it and listening to it in the mix on a set of studio monitor and you start getting closer with the modelers.... or even through a FOH system at a gig, your mic'ed Two Rock 'starts' becoming comparable to Digital modelers through the same FOH or Studio monitors or in my case my IEMS when on stage,, especially when in the mix... There is no denying that its impossible to replicate the magic of a good amp physically moving air around you but realy with a modeler, in most cases its not what you are going for.... I have come close using the old 50w tube AtomicFRFR, closed back with the HD500 which made the hair on my 'tache stand on end........ but thats another story........ B)
  15. Interesting times for mobile audio now since IKMultimedia seemed to have cracked low latency audio for Android. If this is true the market has just expanded exponentially......
  16. I have the Amplifi75 and HD500x. The Amplify lives in my living room and acts as a jam/practise amp as well as a general purpose bluetooth speaker and I gig with the HD500.... I would have no hesitation in bringing the amplifi to a little jam. It sounds great and is loud enough. (the 150 would be better) But as mentioned above.. it really depends on what you plan on using it for and budget? If you are doing a bit of gigging, would like on stage monitoring and a DI to FOH I would recommend HD floorboard and a L2m - a light versatile rig. you can actually pick up hd300's and Hd400's for peanuts these days if there are budget constraints. This gets you the HD modelling over the X3 modelling which the Amplifi has.
  17. In Fact....... it would not surprise me if they merged the Amplifi and L3m concept to have a FRFR monitor in the Amplifi box to complement the HD series as an on stage amp style monitor ..... I really want an L2m/L3m for my HD500x but the form factor has been putting me off..... even tho they sound incredible
  18. Nice one Chris...HD500 definitely seemed to be more transparent in terms of hearing the guitars tone come through, that may be because it was just a slightly cleaner setting, not sure. with tones are great tho! I have the AMPLIFI75 and HD500x and love them both for their applications.
  19. I am gonna stick my neck out here and say I am pretty certain that an HD successor will not be announced at this point. :) happy to be wrong but doubt it. I'd say there will be more focus on Mobile for now and would only start getting excited towards the end of the yr.
