  1. That's great news! Delighted to see a couple of updates and especially happy to see the overdrive pedal added. I know that these are only pod2.0 tones but still impressed with the quality. If it ever gets bluetooth pedal support I will be able to use it for live work when on travels. Keep up the good work guys Tx!

  3. So folks, out of pure interest.... what WOULD be on the wish list for a firmware upgrade v2.5? other than a list of new amp models!! I am interested to gauge expectation here......
  4. Hey_Joe (where ya going with that gun in your hand) Uncanny!!!!!! i came on to the forum to post the very same question!!!!!!! I am just going to have to take the plunge and try it... curiosity is killing.. i have been using the regular XL's for years but find they dull quite quickly.. may just be my skin pH...... The real question is, at triple the price will it be worth it!
  5. 357mag.... try isolate the noise to find the culprit... if the gate at the beginning of your signal chain is 'closed' it should clean up any noise from your strat. If you are still getting some noise either from drive pedals or high gain amps (when not playing anything) try moving the NG up the signal chain one unit at a time. I have generally found that adding in additional NG's kills tone and playability but experimenting with where it sits yields good results.
  6. Honestly I see the next major updates going to Amplify in the form of HD models. I doubt we will see any huge updates to 500's or even the Variax for that matter. I am very curious to see what comes next. With processing power becoming cheaper I definitely see things like effect trails over patch changes coming in the next flagship device... or a built in profiler like Bias Ampmatch or Kemper :) In terms of 500's i wouldn't mind seeing little niggles changed.... deactivate looper button option for one! :)
  7. You might need to calibrate the pedal? check this vid
  8. My request for v0.51 will be a bottle Opener!!!
  9. Have you considered something like the UX2 and pod farm? if your studio monitors are decent i would say that would be best bang for the buck... if you are on a budget correct me if i am wrong but Pod Farm 2.0 has the same 'X3' sound engine as the Amplifi range. I use the Amplifi75 at home for jamming and its sounds great and is fun as all hell to mess around on... i would really bother with the USB recording on it. I ave the HD500x for live use and recording and for that respect the HD models win hands down. If i am travelling I use the Sonic Port VX with iPad which is handy, there are plenty of software amp sims for mobile to choose from plus the Sonic Port works well as a audio interface (the mobile pod app uses the pod 2.0 models but still sound great) I am still not sure why it doesn't come with Pod Farm considering its costs more than the UX2...anyways.... it really depends on your application, budget. all the gear is flexible enough although pianoguy said, the hd500 does it all...... you can get good deals on them (not the 500x) if you look around
  10. I heard that V2.0 was dropping on new yrs day and would be bringing QuadHD patches for the 500x :) :)
  11. Any thoughts on putting one of these between the POD and the PA? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/art-pro-vla-ii-tube-compressor#productDetail
  12. I hear ya! just thinking about the future when mobile pod allows midi foot switching and i can start using it in a live setup when travelling and not wanting to lug my hd500x on the plane! :)
  13. Agree, when i saw the 1.7 update i had high hopes but was bitterly disappointed. Interestingly the Line 6 Mobile POD web page states : Choose from an amazing collection of distortions, delays, mods, filters, reverbs and more....... Also, on Idea Scale Midi Footswitch Bluetooth controllability shows as implemented?
  14. also the Line 6 website says : Choose from an amazing collection of distortions, delays, mods, filters, reverbs and more there are definitely no distortions that I can see?
  15. I have had both PE60 2x12 and the Atomic 50w tube 1x12....... The atomic reactor has a tweeter in it and is FRFR which for me was a winner for using acoustic models on the variax. It has has a lot more thump and really shines when you start cranking the power tubes... The PE wasn't bad, served me well but if I had to choose i would go Atomic. Bearing in mind is may be flat response but its not Full Range. They don't make the tube versions of atomics anymore I don't think so they would be scarce enough. Why don't you look at line 6 stage source? they are FRFR and kick @ss
  16. Hey Joe, thanks for the response, yes that exactly what i did... I am surprised how few people have "agree'd" to those ideas so far, as well as ideas to have Mobile Pod bluetooth midi controllable... would make great in app purchases!
  17. Hmmmmmm. Shouldn't have to boost the signal when I am no more than 6ft away. With my Bose I can be sitting on the loo in the next room and still stream flawlessly! :-)
  18. sure thing : http://www.rothkoandfrost.com/custom-guitar-headstock-decals/
  19. Dunno, it's the same scale length as strats hence same string tension and the jumbo frets usually make it easier to fret. Only thing I can think of is neck profile may just not be what you are used to do tiring your hand?
  20. OK....just couldn't help myself,,, i had to stick the decal on.. glad i did! :) :) :) :) :) all in all it has come together nicely.. and still plays like a dream!!!
  21. I have to say, with the new neck I actually really like the pickguard as is. Agree about Tyler's origional headstock,,, not for me
  22. Had the 500 and being a sucker for marketing I sold and bought the X . I very seldom ran out of DSP to begin with so for me the upgrade was negligible. I have since started using dual signal paths and I am sure that if I was still on the 500 I would be hitting DSP limits (that's what I am telling anyway 🙈🙈)
