Go to Downloads page, download Updater or Central to your computers, download Firmware files to your computers, then do the updates locally on your computers rather than update from the Line 6 servers. The servers are no longer supporting and not connecting, so update Firmware locally from your computers.

line 6 variax 700 electronic hs
psarkissian replied to facoes's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
No. Afraid not, all gone. I don't see any plans for making more. Some of the IC chips are no longer made. -
Monkey is no longer connected to the server. On the Downloads page, Download Monkey and desired Firmware onto your computer. Connect for update, then on Monkey, it says 'Update from File'. Click on it, find and open firmware. Then update locally on your computer desktop from there.

Force/ Don't Force,... Force is when the Helix determines the Model (and the tuning) of the Variax by what is already in the Helix preset default setting or, a custom setting that is created by the user ahead of time. Don't Force, is when the Variax Model is determined by the Variax setting independently, and not determined by Helix. The Variax decides what it will play.

Are you using active pick-ups?

line 6 variax 700 electronic hs
psarkissian replied to facoes's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
Google translate,... The electronics on my Line 6 Variax 700 guitar are broken (only two usable positions remain). Is it possible to order a new electronics board? Where can I order one? I'd appreciate any leads or addresses. I have a board here; if anyone wants it, I can swap it for a bridge for a Variax 500 or 600. -
Weak / cold A string pickup on Variax 700
psarkissian replied to kylestych's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
Cotton swab, couple drops of isopropyl alcohol on the piezo, let it work its way into the saddle, then blow it out with canned air. Repeat as needed. If that does not solve it, then it may be a solder point on the signal line or a failing piezo. Have a Line 6 authorized service center check that out for you. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ -
Saw that, very good.

Try Line 6 Central app.

Try the Spider V topic, this is the Spider Jam topic.

Very lucky. Very good. Over the decades, I've seen tubes last 2 weeks, other times 2years. Once a guy with an old amp by Phase Linear, had tubes in it for 5 years before he starting having failures. You've done well.

In physical world, studio mic'ing for recording, vs live mic'ing for a PA system or FOH, vs live mic'ing for recording live shows is very nuanced. Knowing the venue, environment and what it is you looking to get out of it,... knowing the situation is key. Been trying out different 4x12 cabs and different scenarios with the unit on my bench,... playing thru it, felt like 1975-79 at the Starwood, doing sound or lights for Iron Butterfly all over again. Pretty damn good. "Ears",... people say I have bat hearing,... probably true. (LOL) Keep up the good work Digital_Igloo.

Need a JTV59 output Jack
psarkissian replied to scheater5's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Might have to special order that from Full Compass, or take it to a Line 6 authorized service center and have them install it. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ Or, register your guitar in your Line 6 account, get with Customer support again, and see about sending it to me here at Line 6. -
Replacement pot for guitar model selector
psarkissian replied to harveyrocks1970's topic in Shuriken
Technically, it's an encoder. If It is doing that, it should checked out by a Line 6 authorized service center. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ -
How old are the Tubes? What brand and tube number are they (power and pre-amp tubes)?
-
Brand and tube number of the matched set? If not the power tubes, maybe the 12AX7 pre-amp tubes.

james589batson,... "If anyone has tested it, feedback would be helpful before trying it yourself!" --- Review my above post. I am the person at YGGI/Line 6 who services and repairs JTV, Standard and Shuriken guitars since 2010 (done close to 3,000 by now), and guitar with and without active circuitry on and off for decades before that. I've seen these battery foul ups and failures first hand,... to the guitars, the batteries and the chargers. Been getting paid to do this tech stuff for some 50 years now, and doing it in general for the heck of it since I was 11 or 12. Pretty much seen it all. Correct battery with the correct specifications, charge/discharge rates,...correctly matched components in general is a must. Hence my above recommendations. Don't want to see any of you blow your gear and as a result, have it end up on my repair bench or an authorized service center needlessly.
