  1. From the KB,... We encourage you to contact our Support Staff if you run into any trouble.
  2. 1- If the Hip Shots fit, then okay. The height of the string slot on the tuning post must be lower than the string nut slot. And the post holes and mounting screw holes should line up. Best to go to a guitar or music instrument store and match it up there rather than buying online. 2- Don't drop string tuning beyond a whole step. There has to be a minimum amount of string tension and pressure on the piezo to transfer enough mechanical energy to the piezo for it to sound the note.
  3. Changing strings once in a blue Moon on any guitar helps.
  4. For older Variax +9V, for JTV +7.4, and have to be very stable and not too high of a current draw. Caveat,.... everything here on this topic is an at your own risk, since modification like this are not supported by Line 6. So if something goes wrong with this and it comes to my repair bench, 50/50 chance I'd have to send it back untouched. As much as I would enjoy the challenge, they pay me to work on Line 6 gear and not a third party who supplies a modification. Just so you are all aware. That being said, best of luck.
  5. Batteries get ship in small groups at a time for safety reasons, being Li-Ion. They are making their way through, wish I had an estimated time of delivery to distribution points for you. I repair product, seems half of my career has been about trying to get parts.
  6. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ ... for the authorized service center in your area.
  7. "AI modeling built into guitar firmware could be cool... ", the training algorithm is about 120 line of code in C-language, but would require some serious memory space on the circuit board for the data accumulation and buffering. Interesting idea, lots of computer calculating overhead. Ironically, I have a 700 Acoustic on my bench now for some lutherie adjustments.
  8. "I've finally Bought in June 23 a Variax Standard on eBay, from Japan. " --- In the words of Monty Python, "He's not dead yet." If or when it happens, there will be official notice. Until then, it's just the same rumors I've been hearing since year 3 of the JTV release 12 years ago.
  9. "Is it possible to get just the dome?" --- Log a support ticket in your account with Line 6 Support, they will contact me to check my stash of parts.
  10. "Some of my fastest, most fluid playing has been with the JTV." --- Same here.
  11. Contact the authorized service center in your area. Something that old may have some intermittent solder point or loose retainer nut causing an intermittent ground point. https://line6.com/find/service_center/
  12. Circuitry in there won't allow for that kind of modification. Can't just splice into a circuit like that. Would require a re-design and some serious impedance matching. In a nutshell,... don't do that!
  13. No, the clipping light will come on too easily. That would stress the input circuit. And would have the "unpleasant distortion" that sliverhead mentioned.
  14. You will need a Windows 7 computer to go back that far. And Workbench HD won't work on anything earlier than Firmware v2.00, and you have to use original Workbench.
  15. 404,... it's because you are outside the USA and our web store does not ship across borders. And unfortunately, neither does Full Compass. Contact Yorkville or Long and McQuade, maybe they can be of some help.
  16. Yes,... PierM remembered. "... hope they design new magnetic pickups that capture each string's signal separately, " " It is not possible to use a magnetic pickup for individual strings. At least I don't know any that can do that. " Actually, it is possible. They are called "hexaphonic pick-ups". Hex being six, and phonic being sound source. Not enough magnetic field isolation between strings because of magnetic mutual coupling of the magnetic fields between pick-up elements. And what goes into it verses the results you get from it,... was thought of as diminishing returns for the effort put into it. Nice idea, just didn't work as well as it was hoped. Mostly used in some of the early guitar synths. Still used on certain Roland guitar synths and Fishman guitar MIDI products. Beyond that, hardly anyone uses hexaphonic pick-ups much anymore.
  17. 69 jack plate won't work in a 59, cable lengths are all wrong. See if you can special order it from Full Compass. Also log a Support ticket in your account.
  18. E & M Electronics Unit 28, 56 Goulds Close Bletchley Milton Keynes, MK1 1EQ +441908375699 line6@eandm.co They are the authorised service in the UK, contact them and see if they can get you the part, or point you to a supplier who can.
  19. All of them. I've looked at fret specs of our different guitars as I service them and they all use the Jescar 57110.
  20. Retailer serviced it. Is it still acting up? If so, log a support ticket in your account, it could be something deeper.
  21. All Variax guitars have Jescar 57110 frets. Upside for a luthier is that when working, leveling and round frets, there's enough material to work with. smaller frets wear down to where you can't work them anymore. Then you have to re-fret, or swap out the neck,... if it's a bolt-on neck. Down side is that Jescar 57110 is a bit much. I'm fine with anything, I adapt, so I'm comfortable with whatever it is.
