  1. :) Great. Was going to drop that in there too, but figure FB was quicker. Had a problem trying to link to his website though. Cheers.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/MarkWrightMusicdotcom/ A bit of drive. Milton Keynes is a smidge closer. Have a friend and colleague, a Professor Emeritus at Uni of Essex in Colchester. Runs the Audio Research Lab (ARL) there. A top flight guy.
  3. Mark Wright is in Northampton and knows this amp series really well.
  4. " No audio signal is transmitted from the amp to the FBV or the FBV to the computer. " --- What fflbrgst said,... FBV is only a controller, not an audio device.
  5. Get it serviced at an authorized service center, and it can be pretty reliable when done.
  6. E&M in Milton Keynes, near Blechley and Oxfordshire. Mark Wright Music isn't officially authorized as far as I'm aware, but he was my opposite number at Line 6 Rugby, when we had a location there. He knows this stuff as well as I do. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ ... would have the current list.
  7. Fuse is done. The lights mean that the main board is good. Can't tell a tube by it's looks. Good that it's going to get looked at. Make sure the repair shop is Line 6 authorized. Most techs aren't familiar with the quirks in these. The only techs I call give advice to are the L6 authorized ones. They have access to service docs support and me, others don't. There is a post bias test to be done, and only L6 authorized have access to that document.
  8. Idea Scale is used for submitting ideas for features and such. It's how and why some of our latest products were created,... including the Helix. All sorts of things are considered and looked at and discussed here.
  9. Connect to Workbench (original, not HD) and check the settings for that, see if anything is out of place.
  10. 1) Either there's a problem with the jack as it cuts off the speakers when the headphones or connection to recorder input is plugged in. 2) The power amp output IC's are damaged which also affects the speaker mute for headphone/recorder mode. Either way , it will need to be serviced by a line 6 authorized service center. It is not a self repair situation.
  11. Should be one panel fuse. When was the last time the tubes were changed out? Are they the specified factory tubes?
  12. https://l6c-acdn2.line6.net/data/6/0a06434df0f650914b2056015/application/pdf/DT Amplifier MIDI Implementation Guide ( Rev A ).pdf?_ga=2.184423974.1496305056.1593806635-567407647.1560723648
  13. 12 and a fraction, +/- what ever the tolerance is. Very small tolerance. https://l6c-acdn2.line6.net/data/6/0a020a41a8d55d77e6f4bce85/application/pdf/file.pdf?_ga=2.146816695.1496305056.1593806635-567407647.1560723648
  14. Very slight, very slight deeper tone. The firmware for the 270 and 250 are optimized for the different scale lengths, as so use a different program template optimized for their scale lengths. The Model patches and Alt Tunes are the same though.
  15. Not a 12 radius. Close. Whatever you get, it should be material like the Black TUSQ, or it may resonate too much. Make certain there is no sideways breaking angles, and that the elevated breaking angle between nut and tuning posts maintain a 12-15 degree angle.
  16. Workbench HD has a pick-up blend function in it.
  17. Don't spray it in. They are not all pots, some are encoders,... a different control element. Drip it in with w cotton swab, spraying can gunk things up.
  18. Specified tubes. Very good. The markings are the manufacture date, not how long they have been used. Those look okay for now, but the inner coating (getter flesh) is looking a bit dark. Might want to take it to a Line 6 authorized service center for a check-up.
  19. With higher gain loops being engaged, all amplitudes are higher, including the noise. Gain topologies and and the digital processing are designed to bring out the classic tube sounds of the 1960's and 70's tube amps. And the DT-50 212 having two 12" speakers, everything is louder than the DT-50 112, with one 12" speaker. One of the things that Steve Howe (of Yes) and Roland Orzabal (Tears For Fears) like about the DT-50 212. Had the pleasure of servicing both of their amps (each having two of them). Rheinhold Bogner's tube amp designs are also goes back to that earlier time of tube amp. It's what Bogner is known for. Interesting fellow with some really good tube amp designs. New Tubes? How long has it been since the last tube replacement? Check the recommendations for how often to change them out and which tubes to use. It's more than just tube swap and bias. There is a procedure for the tech to do,... bias, warm up, signal tests, let it run, then post test bias. So any tube replacement needs to be done by a Line 6 authorized service centers to be done correctly.
  20. Can physically tune down if you want, but don't go beyond a whole step and a half, or you risk skirting the edge of pitch track.
  21. Battery and battery box in the newer ones are a bit tight, it gets less so over time and usage.
