  1. " I would like to ask psarkissian if this is a known "issue" (you don't have to call it an issue as I am sure you are not allowed) so I can stop my search for the holy grail of intonation. " --- @ Smashcraaft,... Sorry for being so late, somehow missed this one, just spotted this post. Best as I recall there was a small number of early 59's. Machine creep or measuring a wrong reference point (I forget which), so the fret board fret placement was off just enough that it was outside of the intonation range. I dealt with all of those. Also changed to a longer coarse intonation screw to accommodate that. Your 59's are after that, so would be correct.
  2. @ mylescdavis, :: "Does the M9 have enough voltage regulation to use a 12v supply?" --- No it doesn't. Use only the specified Line 6 supply or the Voodoo Labs distributor.
  3. For DC, use the Voodoo Labs power distributor, and use only the designated power marked for Line 6 products.
  4. - Connect as you normally would for an update. - Insert the battery into the battery compartment. - Insert a TRS tip 1/4" headphone adapter into the 1/4" jack. - Both LED's on the interface should be green. - Proceed with Monkey or Workbench HD.
  5. Intermittent connection. Needs to be taken to a Line 6 authorized service tech. Don't do this yourself.
  6. With 3rd party pick-ups, no active 9-Volt supply types as they are incompatible, use passive pick-ups with a DCR specification of between 6k and 8k Ohms.
  7. The old shortboard control I/O can control a number of functions using the floor controller. But for manually overall FX control, the Channel Volume control is used.
  8. Lowdown,... that's an altogether different product, a bass amp.
  9. I think it depends on the toggle position, one, the other or both. Similar for three pick-up.
  10. "... I'm wondering if there is any way the guitar could be modified to reduce the weight without compromising the sound. " --- No, there isn't. The Models will sound different in tone and EQ in another body. And routing will be like putting the electronics in another body. The acoustics of the body are considered and matched in the modeling process. Change the body, or put the electronics into a different body, it sounds different in tone EQ. I've done a number of mods and custom work for Line 6 artist endorsers at he request of the top people at Line 6 and the artist endorsers, so I know what you are in for. "... could the electronics be damaged by vibration from the routing operation??? " --- Yes, that is why when I do lutherie work to these I usually (but not always need to) remove the electronics prior to the work. " Any thoughts about this Mod???? " ---- Don't do it. Also, if something were to go wrong and should it be necessary to send it back to us at Line 6, there would be limitations to what we could do, as Line 6 does not support modification that alter the function of the product. And this modification would qualify under that. If you were to send it to me with such mods, after an evaluation, chances are I might have to send it back untouched. This is a 12-14 year old product with a limited number of parts available for it. And that would add to the problem. Stevic McKay of Twelve Foot Ninja knows who I am and what I'm talking about (among others).
  11. " ... do I have to hold down the tap button or something? " --- No. There should be a Channel Volume control to bring up the effects volume. Page 5, Chan Vol control. https://l6c-acdn2.line6.net/data/6/0a060b316ac34f059333e20bb/application/pdf/Spider III 75/120/150/HD150 User Manual ( Rev B ).pdf?_ga=2.215761758.898355844.1600096747-352491666.1599240892
  12. Haven't heard about any updates on those. Maybe some 3rd party widgets out there. But those would be program hacks, and reliability would be 50/50.
  13. They will be in the Downloads page here. If the particular Firmware does not show up in the selections, then the computer OS may be too current for something as old as a 300 Electric. The Variax Standard will be current and should show up in the Firmware selections. Check the posting in the upper header regarding MacOS 11.
  14. There is the Channel Volume control for blending.
  15. Guitar input circuit or internal cable failure. Needs a trip to a Line 6 authorized service center for proper troubleshooting and servicing.
  16. Older product like that, could be oxidized solder points, failed fuse, old tubes. Have it checked and serviced by a Line 6 authorized service center, they will have experience with this product. Do not go in there yourself, shock hazard is too great.
  17. Control,... no. In the Knowledge Base here in the Forum is a topic for the pedal to product compatibility chart.
  18. And use pick-ups with a DCR spec of between 6k and 8k Ohms for good impedance matching, or the EQ will have a darker tone quality to it that you might not like. 8.6k Ohm is nearing the edge of that, but it can work. And follow the wiring diagrams and recommendations in the Knowledge Base section of the Line 6 Forum.
  19. It's called the 'dual tone effect'. It's what happens when you hear the standard tuning of the string, together with the signal from the amp. Typical remedy is using headphones, or turning up the amp. Also, the tuning and intonation on these needs to be spot on more so than the usual everyday guitar,.
  20. https://line6.com/support/page/kb/general-faq/cleaning-pots-and-faders-r816/ Cotton swab, drip into the saddle, gently, blow out with canned air. Repeat if needed.
