You should verify things in a regular thread before posting as a bug. This is NOT a bug. It works fine on both my Floor and my HXS. I suggest that you perform a factory reset.

Did you name the snapshots? If so, the scribble strip should show the name of the snapshot, snapshot being the default name of an otherwise unnamed snapshot. At least, that's how it works on Helix and HXS.

Help: Programming tones gets different result than downloading
rd2rk replied to RobertStapleton's topic in Helix
The update process only reverts to "default settings" - I'm not sure what you mean by that - if you fail to complete the process by performing a Factory Reset after the update per the update instructions. You must then perform a RESTORE, which brings everything (Global Settings/Custom Presets/IRs) back to where you left it before the update. If you want to retain any NEW presets added in the update then you export those presets before the RESTORE. -
I infer from your original question that you want to use a single preset for 4cm with electric guitar and Synergy with a guitar cab, then be able to switch to Powercab for Variax acoustic. Normally for 4cm you would return the post amp signal with FX like delay and reverb to the guitar amp via the MAIN Outs. When you instead use a SEND you're doing the same thing except that the BIG KNOB would no longer control the volume and the Global EQ would no longer apply. Setting the DRY THRU of the SEND to -120db prevents the signal from going to the MAIN OUTS/Powercab until you want the VARIAX/Acoustic thing. This allows for a lot of flexibility: By switching OFF the FX LOOP Block and the SEND Block you bypass the guitar amp, allowing the signal to pass through to the MAIN Outs to the Powercab/FOH. By switching off ONLY the SEND Block the signal still passes through the Synergy preamp section, but the power amp section is replaced with the Powercab. NOTE: this is not ideal because the signal to the Powercab doesn't contain the tube poweramp component. You can get this back by using a Reactive Load Box and taking the LINE OUT back to a Helix RETURN with the RETURN Block next to the SEND Block and toggling ON when the SEND is OFF. By switching OFF the FX LOOP and SEND and including one (or more) Helix Amps which then turn ON, you bypass the Synergy and can use the Helix Amp(s) with Powercab with or without speaker emulation for electric or acoustic. This allows for completely different tone options in addition to the Synergy Module(s) and MIDI configuration. You didn't specify how/where you have the Variax in the signal chain, but it's all just plumbing and the FX LOOP and SEND/RETURN are valves. You control it all with Snapshots.

Place a SEND with DRY THRU set to -120db at the end of the signal chain and use that for the amp return. Use a FS or Snapshot to toggle it ON for the amp, OFF for the Powercab.

I don't gig with mine, but sometimes I just leave it on for days at a time, playing for an hour or so here and there, and never had the issue. Oddly, I'm having a similar issue with Ableton Live, which I use for synths, where after a random period the audio engine just gets all distorted and I have to toggle it on/off to get it back to normal. But that's, I'm sure, some Windows service or other causing a hiccup. Nothing to do with your problem. Is there anything else that you use in both signal chains that could be suspect?

If I get what you're trying to do: First, you need to decide which DAW functions you want on which Helix switches. Then you need to have Helix configured for MIDI THRU and Bandlab configured to send the recorded MIDI on the proper channels for each device chained off Helix. I have both Bandlab and Helix, so I can help with the details, but if you want Helix to do anything other than control Bandlab and pass MIDI I'll need details.

I've never encountered this with my PC212+. I'd say to do a factory reset, but if it's happening on two different Powercabs that wouldn't SEEM to be the issue. I would look into other devices in your signal chain that your two rigs have in common?

Edited my post. Thank you!

You need both a WAH block and a VOLUME block in the signal chain.

Those are still .php files.

Those are .php files and don't open in Windows.

Look at the bottom of the pedal. The jacks are labelled OUT 1 and OUT 2. > means "connect this cable to that out". The cable mono leads should be labeled TIP and RING. RING is USUALLY red. Now go into Global Settings and find the settings I described. Set them as I described. If you still don't get it, be specific about what is confusing you.

I'm using the Mission Engineering SP1-L6 Helix Cable Tip>Out1 Ring>Out2 Global Settings>Preferences EXP/FS Tip = EXP 1 EXP/FS Ring = FS5 - EDIT - FS8 for HXSXL Tip Polarity = Inverted Ring Polarity = Normal Global Settings>EXP Pedals EXP1 Position = Preset EXP2 Position = Preset This configuration places the WAH on EXP Pedal 1 and the Volume on EXP Pedal 2

Not at this time. The Press/Hold (Long Press) function is currently specific to the Snapshot and Looper commands. The only way I can see to do this would be to have a Snapshot that turned the effect ON (called on PRESS), and another Snapshot that changes the speed (called on HOLD). Check out the attached demo preset. FS3 is used to control the Trem state in all Snapshots. I only chose FS3 because I created this on my HXS and it's the easiest FS to reach. When called, the Preset loads Snapshot 1 with Trem OFF. In SS1 Press/Release loads Snapshot 2 which turns the Trem ON FAST. Press/Hold Loads SS3 Trem ON SLOW. In SS2 (Trem ON FAST) Press/Release loads SS1 which turns Trem OFF. Press/Hold Loads SS3 TREM ON SLOW. In SS3 (Trem ON SLOW) Press/Release Loads SS1 which turns Trem OFF. Press/Hold Loads SS2 TREM ON FAST. This way, whichever Snapshot/Trem State you're in you have access to both of the other Trem States from one FS. Single Press/Release = OFF Press/Hold = Trem ON + Change Trem Speed Obviously, you're using 3 Snapshots out of your 8 available, and everything else in each Snapshot has to be properly configured for that Snapshot. Not a bug. It takes time (measured in ms, but still) to UNLOAD the current Preset and LOAD the next one. If you switch faster than the processor can handle that process you can crash the system. I'm sure they're aware of this, as it's been noted before, it just might be an issue that the system can't tell it's in an in-between state and at the same time keep track of multiple transitory LOAD requests. That would be my guess. You can always open a support ticket and ask about it.

Don't know about HXFX (I have Helix Floor and HX Stomp), but IME if you NAME the Snapshots, the Snapshot that the switch leads to is what is displayed. If SS1 is called CLEAN and has the FS set to go to SS2 (CRUNCH), then the display will say CRUNCH. Then, if in SS2 that FS is set to go back to SS1 (CLEAN), then the display will say "CLEAN". Makes sense to me. It doesn't work like that in HXFX? You could always post a request for an option over on Ideascale.

Whether or not you can take your stuff in the cabin is entirely at the discretion of the flight crew, and you can't be sure it will happen until you're trying to board. The few times I've had to fly I didn't have time for them to say "NO!" Literally, YMMV!

I'm not sure how this solves the problem, or even what problem it's intended to solve - what exactly are you referring to as your "audio card"? Is the "audio card" input Instrument level? How does the guitar signal get back into the rest of your signal chain? Your complete signal chain is only available at the REDBOX Line Out. If you want that complete signal chain to FOH as well as into your computer for recording then you'd need to split the REDBOX XLR (I use a simple XLR Y-Splitter) and take one side to FOH and the other to a proper Audio Interface. If your computer's "audio card" has an XLR Input then that works.

That would stink, but better than roaches! Meanwhile, back at the Vatican...

On the serious side, I don't want to frighten you, but... I once worked for a nationwide rental company transporting consumer electronics, appliances and furniture from customer's homes to the service department. Hearing the sorts of noises that you described, during transport, in big screen TVs invariably indicated a single cause - cockroaches! I'm not making this up. I also frequently encountered mice in larger appliances such as washers and dryers. You don't want to know about the couches and bedding. Nobody wants to think that they might have vermin problems, but it's more likely than demons...
