    My LT is haunted

Maybe start with a spray bottle of Holy Water?
  2. Where did you get it from? Maybe if you link to the tone, or attach it?
  3. The MODE switch toggles between Preset/Snapshots and Stomp Mode. If you use Stomp Mode for YT controls you can't use it on the same switches as normal Stomps. Well, you could, but it's likely gonna get weird. You CAN dedicate some switches to YT and some to normal Bypass/Snapshot/etc. functions, but that's not the same as just pasting the YT commands into CommandCenter and using whatever your normal setup was.
  4. This is a user-to-user support forum, nobody from Line6 hangs out here. Contact support, they'll get you straightened out!
  5. I've been using (and professionally supporting users of) Windows since version 1. Yes, Win10 is definitely the most stable version ever, and it pi$$es me off no end that Win11 requires new HW! But my 7th gen i7 is falling behind the needs of modern DAWs and plugins, and there comes a time with every version of Windows that, like with Win7 (which was also great), users who choose not to keep up get left behind. The convergence of my aging HW and the new Windows version makes a full system upgrade the most sensible thing to do. There's an i9/32GB/2TB laptop in my future, but I want the latest greatest, so not until Win10 actually hits EOL.
  6. I'm sorry, I completely misunderstood your post. As the links provided by @datacommandoindicate, Androids are not a good fit for your needs. After researching, I bought my first iOS device - an i5 - back in 2013 specifically for it's audio capabilities. You might check out Craigslist/eBay for an older iPad. I got an Air2 for $99 and it works great for everything - Catalyst Edit, Amp Sims, DAWs, drum machines, Spotify/YT to Helix etc. Simple, cheap USB B to Lightning cable connection. The bigger screen is also REALLY nice!
  7. Was in a metallish band back then - VH, Priest, Night Ranger, etc. We also did a couple of Tubes tunes - Talk To Ya Later, White Punks on Dope and, of course, What Do You Want from Life. I went to see them at a small club in SF, forget the name, Bimbo's? They were hysterical! During "Smoke" Fee Waybill and Jane Dornacker sat at a cafe type table for two and literally smoked so many cigarettes you could barely see them on stage. Try doing THAT today!
  8. I don't see any way to do this. There's another guy on here who has a PC112+ and a plain PC112. Seems like that would be perfect for your situation. Maybe you can trade? Or, if you got your PC212+ new at a reputable store maybe you can work a trade there?
  9. Really. And who would EVER want rutabaga on their tuna sandwich. YUCK! Wait for it... here it comes... "Rutabaga on Tuna is the ONLY way to get the AUTHENTIC Albacore experience!" Whatever.
  10. It sounds to me like this: Guitar -> Buffer ->Tuner -> HX L Input --> Drive Block --> FX Send/Return Block -> HX Send -> Patchbay -> Real Amp INPUT From REAL AMP SEND -> Patchbay ->HX RETURN L --> Delay Block -> Main Output Block -> HX L Main Output -> Patch Bay -> Return of the REAL AMP With the Redbox (H&K amp?) to FOH (or back to the patchbay and then to FOH) is all you need. Since the Redbox has speaker emulation there's no need to come back to the HXS for that unless you really dislike the emulation, in which case you can save two blocks on the HXS by using an IR loader after the Redbox and disabling the emulation on the Redbox. I'm not sure if the Redbox 5 external version has the ON/OFF switch for the emulation and you still didn't specify the amp you're using... I just guessed the H&K since it's the only amp I know of with built-in Redbox. Well, my Catalyst has speaker emulated XLR out - different implementation but same principle. Minus the patchbay I'm doing the same thing you're (I think) trying to do.
  11. The XLR Out has a cab/mic simulation that can't be turned off. It is LINE LEVEL, so it requires an external amp+cab or powered speaker. You could try closing the back of the cab, but I wouldn't seal it completely. Closed back cabs (all cabs really) are designed for the speakers chosen by the OEM. Closing the cab back completely could adversely affect speaker excursion. However, I'm no expert in such matters.
  12. If you connect the PC+ via AES then you have full per preset configuration options on that, but in order to get stereo you'd need to pan that output block hard Left and use the Right 1/4" (or XLR) for the standard PC (left would collapse stereo to mono, so it wouldn't be true stereo). Load up the attached example preset and examine the way the split is configured.
  13. The problem with Fractal sandwiches is the plethora of advanced options - mayo, mustard, ketchup (even CATSUP!), lettuce (6 different types), tomatoes, eggplant, rutabaga, the list goes on and on! I'd spend all my time tweaking and wind up starving to death!
  14. If I understand what you're asking, no. Once you plug into the Input the signal passes through the Cats Amps. You could use the CLEAN amp, but why bother with Captures to ruin them with the coloration of another amp? Makes no sense. However, if you want to use the Cat's other effects, the delay can be replaced with any of the other FX, most of them sound just as good after the ToneX as before. Just make up a bunch of Cat presets with different FX and use MIDI to switch between them. Not as elegant a solution as ToneX in the FX Loop of a MultiFX, but it works if your needs are simple and your budget is limited. A basic MIDI controller can be gotten for <>$100. EDIT: Actually you may be asking what I described in the "Just for kicks" section of my previous post. Guitar>ToneX>Catalyst FX Loop Return.
  15. @silverhead beat me to the POST and said basically the same thing as me but with a lot less words!
  16. I don't have a Kronos, but had a quick look at the specs. I THINK that if it sends audio over USB, then it would need to be the ASIO Device in your DAW. That may be different with a MAC or you could set up an Aggregate Device. I'm not really a MAC person so if you're using a MAC say so and someone from MAC World can help with that. There's lots of ways to do this. Attached is an example of how I might set it up with my ancient Seiko DS-250 using Helix as AI. NOTE - I have a Scarlett 18i20 for an AI, so this is just an example I set up for your use case. Connected to a PC with Helix as your DAW's ASIO device I would connect the Kronos' 1/4" Stereo Outs to Returns 3/4. Set Path 2's input to Returns 3/4 then split Path 2 and set the Output of 2A to XLR (assuming one or more FRFRs or a PA for Zero Latency Direct Monitoring). Set Path 2B's Output to USB 3/4 for recording. Use Path 1 for guitar with the Output of Path 1A set to 1/4" for a Guitar amp's Return or FRFRs or PA for Direct Monitoring. Set Path 1B's Output to USB 1/2 for recording. This configuration gives you stereo on both instruments, choice of Stereo or Mono for stage/direct monitoring and stereo into your DAW for recording. Again, there's lots of ways to do this, the example preset attached is just what I came up with in a few minutes. NOTE - the synth paths have a Gain Block because the output from my Seiko is weak. You need something to split the paths but you likely won't need gain blocks set that high. Anyway, questions, different configuration requirements? Oh, almost forgot. In Windows Sound Panel just set the Default Playback Device to Helix and that gets all your streaming/backing tracks to the Helix Outputs. Note - if you want to record those along with the Guitar and synth you'll need to import the backing tracks into the DAW or bring in Streams using the Computer's Sound Card (Sound Panel Default Playback Device) and the computers HP Out into a separate Helix Path - IOW, the configuration I've described would be fine if importing backing tracks into the DAW, but to Record Streams would require a different configuration. Last word, FYI and FWIW - A multi I/O Audio Interface such as my Scarlett 18i20 makes all of this MUCH easier. Just sayin'... Kronos.hlx
  17. With a Helix and two + models connecting Helix to PC+1 via AES and PC+1 to PC+2 via AES, yes. Using one of each you would have the complete stereo signal into PC+ and that is the signal the standard would receive from the PC+ single XLR Out. For stereo in your situation use the separate L/R outs from your unspecified modeler one to each PC input.
  18. I put it in a loop of my Helix and send that to the Catalyst Return, using the Cat's delay and reverb (FX Loop Mode) unless I want the delay before the amp old-school style - both if I'm feeling really ambient/psychedelic! Pure old-school would be to have whatever external FX you want before the ToneX and send that to the Cat's Return using FX Loop Mode as above. This disallows using the Cat's amps though, whereas having ToneX in the Loop of a Multi FX such as Helix/HXS/HXFX allows for both scenarios using 4cm. I'm not currently using 4cm because the Cat is on the other side of the room and cable salad is a real thing in my studio (the living room). I just swap the cable from Return to Input when I want to use the Cat's amps. Keep in mind that in order to use the Cat's FX (POST) you need to be in FX Loop Mode, as Power Amp Mode bypasses the FX. There's LOTS of possible configurations and I can't detail all of them. My recommendation is to get one of the aforementioned devices to augment the ToneX and provide max flexibility. Also, be aware that the Cat's speaker is sufficiently neutral that both Cab and DI captures can sound good. NOTE: CAB captures are created with a mic'd cab; DI captures are created with a Line Out from a Reactive Load Box. Just for kicks (because I'd never really tried it) I just spent some time using guitar into the ToneX pedal then into the Cat's return. I have a lot of Amalgam captures, including JTM45 DI captures, some made with various OD boxes. I set up a Bank on the ToneX with a CLEAN, BOOSTED DRIVE and BOOSTED LEAD and with nothing more than the Cat's delay and reverb it sounded AWESOME. A near perfect 3 channel Marshall! If I put a WAH/VOL pedal up front it would truly be all I'd ever need! No. Just different flavors of ice cream with nearly infinite choice.
  19. No, not really clear, but I'll give it a shot. First - are you aware that placing things between the guitar and the HXS Input disables (unless they are TRUE BYPASS) the Auto Impedance function? This only matters if you use HXS FX that require that the pickups be loaded at lower than 1M such as certain fuzzes such as the Arbitrator. It's also irrelevant if you're using a wireless which always loads the pickups at 1M. If you want your physical amp's tone (which includes its poweramp) to go to FOH, you need a Reactive load between the amp's speaker out and its speaker with a LINE OUT to the HXS so that you can add a cab emulation/IR without which it will likely sound nasty at FOH, and not in a good way. The usual workaround is to eliminate the physical amp's preamp by using an HXS amp which can be toggled by turning the FX Loop ON/HXS amp OFF and vice versa. This allows you to use the physical amp's (helps with typing to know the make/model of the amp) pre and power amp/speaker when using it by itself and HXS amps when you need FOH. Again, a RL with Line Out is best of both worlds. Hopefully that was clear?
  20. Yes. How many high-gain players do you know of who use open back cabs? Most predominantly clean players use open back cabs. To my ears, clean tones can sound good through closed back cabs, but high-gain not so much. My personal compromise is to use a HR FRFR112 connected to the XLR Out and adjust the Channel Level (controls the signal to the FRFR) higher and MAIN (controls the level to the open back cab) depending on the emphasis I want. MIC, CAB and Channel Level can all be controlled using MIDI if you need to get down to the nitty gritty. Experiment. Your ears are not my ears. When it sounds good TO YOU, it IS good! BOOST comes before the preamp. It is not simply a gain control, it is custom designed for each amp: Clarity - adds a tube stage with gentle clipping before the amp model Aristocrat - adds a boutique boost pedal (Xotic EP Booster/Kinky Boost) before the amp Carillon - adds a vintage-style treble booster (Dallas Rangemaster/Deranged Master) before the amp Voltage - adds an extra tube gain stage Kinetic - adds gain and eq mods to simulate classic amp mods Oblovion - add a classic OD (SD-1/Stupor OD) before the amp PRESENCE - affects the upper mid-range/treble response of the modeled power amp (not to be confused with the Class D Power amp that controls the ultimate output level) Noise Gate - What does a noise gate effect do? | The Basics | Reverb News
