  1. Hi there friends. A few days ago I was reading a thread where a user had hand drawn diagrams, (of the hd500 or hd500x ) and he was explaining how the signal routing was affecting the db output levels. I wanted to revisit that thread but I can't find it. Do any users recall the thread and can you point me to it? Thanks.
  2. Yes I use it to rehearse with. It works well for me. I run a mic and an ipad via Bluetooth connection for back up bass, drum, and piano tracks. I use an app called ireal pro which allows you to program the chords of a song and store your own chosen style, tempo, and key Among other things. I created a custom patch for the amplifi which uses no amp or effects, I have a flat eq setting on it as well. This way I can use the amps in the hd 500 x (for electric guitar rock tones) and the nice acoustic guitar tones from my Jtv 69'modelling Guitar which work best with no amp simulation. I play my app at a healthy loudness thru the ipad. I run the amplifi 75 at 3 O 'clock, (75 % volume)Take note of that level and use it all the time for consistency when making patches, then you can adjust up or down as the need arises. I build my hd 500 patches while listening to the songs playing back from the app, that way I can make sure everything is cool level wise. Be aware that changing pick ups, volume knob changes, and tone knob changes will all have an affect on the overall mix So make notes if need be. As far as playing live with it. I don't think it would quite cut it in my opinion. Maybe if it is a coffee house gig and it is a solo or duo act. But a hopping bar room ... Don't think so. I know there are a million ways to use these things and some guys will disagree with this but that's Ok. Bottom line is you can make it work for you if you tinker around with it long enough.
  3. Super job again Peter, I really enjoyed you're production. First rate tone and musicianship in my books.
  4. Ok I think I found what I was asking about, if people are having software issues they should look under support/ downloads/ all operating systems for their operating systems that is currently installed on their computer, ipad etc. If your OS is not listed for your device don't download the line6 software. Wait for an update to your current operating system. Hope this helps some of you.
  5. It seems a lot of users are having software troubles, if there is a list maybe some one could post it, if there isn't a list it might save line 6 and the users some time and trouble if they made one available.
  6. Geez , and to think I waste time watching the comedy network, when all I have to do is read the forums for entertainment and enlightenment. lol!
  7. What the ..... How did they get in there? Nice call Zap, how did you know that?
  8. Ok jaguar and Mr. Zap. I was able to go back to version 2.0 of the amplifi device without issues. It is not the most current version but it does what I need it to and I am a happy camper again! ( for now ) Lol! Thank you for the help.
  9. Hello jaguar: thanks for your input. I though about what you said about the amp itself not knowing when to update with out being hooked up to the computer or ipad, and I thought it made sense so I tried turning the amp on again with no app or computer hook up . But the problem persists. To answer your question, no I don't leave it hooked up to a computer. I have only ever used the ipad with the app. I did the update via the ipad. I am going to try and redo the update later today, I'll let you guys know the result. Thanks for taking time to help!
  10. Thanks for the reply Mr. Zap, I think something must have gone wrong on my last update. This is what I did last time: 1. I deleted and reinstalled the amplifi app as it was acting a bit weird. Newest app version opened and looked fine. 2. Turned on my amp and was prompted for update which I did. All seemed fine. I loaded one preset to bank 1 preset A And that was fine. ( so now I think I am golden) Everything worked fine for that session, but when I turned on the amp the next day I was prompted to update again, I can get the amp going if I do the reset by holding the A preset and volume knob down while turning on the amp, But this is not right! Any way I am going to try a full update again and see what happens this time. Thanks for the help.
  11. Hello people: when my amplifi 75 needed an update it just started to flash four white lights on the ABCD Preset controls. Ok fair enough, it is saying an update is available. But why is is necessary? With the four lights flashing nothing works! Shouldn't one have the choice to update or not? There may be a valid reason not to update at any given time. Since the latest update my amp has not worked correctly, and needs a factory reset just to boot up and make it useable. Why won't it work with an earlier version? I am thinking that earlier versions should work; maybe not with added features and bug fixes, but it should at least turn on an be useable! I hope some one from Line 6 itself we see this and respond, but a response from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks to all!
  12. Not a suggestion, just a confirmation that I have the exact same problem. Do any other users have this problem too?
  13. In the old days they used to have tape hiss too! I am old now that's how I know this. lol!
  14. Maybe we should all chip in and get Triryche a two wheeler for his birthday?
  15. Omg, I called Triryche Tricycle! That was a typo I swear! LOL!
  16. Yes good idea, tricycle . A little more cumbersome but much more reliable.
  17. I know how you feel my friend.
  18. Yes, my friend but did you buy it to hook up to a computer? I know I didn't. I love this amp when it works, but I just can't rely on it not to drop out or have connection issues when I need it most. I want to use Bluetooth for some backing tracks when I play live but I just don't trust it enough for that. It is great fun in the bedroom or at the cottage.
  19. Ok guys forget it, I figured it out. Just had to do the easy to follow 17 step instruction sheet. Is it me or is this just more complicated than it needs to be?
  20. Hello every one. Here is the problem. Amplifi 75 is flashing four white lights. (Failed update) This is the second time I went thru this. My amplifi app version is 1.21.1 My amplifi device flash version is 2.010 I have been getting error messages in the app so I am wondering if this may be part of the problem? I want to delete the app, re download it then re flash the amp. Does that sound like the right approach to you people? Thanks a lot!
  21. You guys are right, there are three springs, I never noticed the third spring down the centre till I looked at it on an angle thru the plastic cover piece. Lol!
