  1. Hi guys . If you put a spare expression pedal thru the fx loop could that work? Not sure have not tried it myself yet. That might give you one extra block. Just a question, do you really need to use 8 effects at once? You could build similar patches and run them side by side in a bank And change presets to call up the needed effect(s) Just another little tip from another newbie. I thought it would be best To run the 500x in fs5-8 turned on as well. But then you have trouble calling up Your other presets from the bank you are in. So on sober second thought I run mine in preset mode. I guess it all depends on your intended use. It is gonna take you a bit of time to get this thing set up the way you want it. Hang in there!
  2. Don't know about that , but the app is free so go ahead and try it for yourself. It won't cost anything more than your time right?
  3. Very scary, hard to get good help these days.
  4. Well boys I know nothing about spring trems... But, the picture shows you can hook the springs on either way. My new Jtv 69 is like The second picture. ( the springs are on an angle not parallel. ) There must be a reason for being able to hook the springs on either way right? This is my first guitar with tremolo so I have nothing to compare it to. The guitar plays and feels similar to my strat. I have the factory strings which are 10 to 46 I think. I am not gonna monkey with mine. Feels ok to me as is.
  5. Hello everyone: I am going to have to change my strings eventually, I am happy with the factory gauge and brand. Is there anything I need to be careful with in regards to the piezo pick ups? Should I change one at a time or take them all off at once? Thanks I never owned a guitar with a spring tremolo before so that is the reason I ask about the one string at a time .
  6. You need to go to the line 6 website and download the manual for your device and read it my friend. If you are like me you will have to read it many times to understand it lol. Not because it is very hard to read but it may have concepts that are totally new to you that you have to absorb step by step to make sense of it all. I hope I have put you on the right track, good luck.
  7. I stand corrected, thanks for that and hope I didn't mislead too many of you.
  8. 96 kHz will give better headroom for recording. You could record whisper quiet sounds to thunderously loud sounds, with less chance of clipping ( distorting ) the signal. Of course you would need excellent mics which are set properly. Condenser mics are great for vocals and acoustic guitars. IMO you can get away with 48k for rock, and pop style recordings. There is also a process known as dithering which should be applied in a daw (recording software program, or digital audio workstation), if you record in a high sample rate and convert to a lower rate while mastering.
  9. What a great story! I loved it Tboneous. I have a friend who hates line 6, because they are cheap. His 3,000 dollar tube amp is obviously far superior, I Lol...(All the way to the bank)
  10. A watched pot never boils kiddies. You 500 users are not second class customers...geez, a little patience goes a long way. Human nature being what it is line 6 will never satisfy 100% of its customers. Yes, I have the 500x, no, I have not bought the new amps yet. I don't even know if I will!
  11. Hey Paul, no one was forcing anyone to buy the pack(s), they were willing to Buy and try, as it were for themselves. I think we all know by now nothing is gonna fly 100% trouble free right out go the gates.
  12. Just a thought. Are you sure it is not your amp? One time I had my cab unplugged from the head and I thought the amp was dead. Is this with every preset it happens or just one you happen to be using at the moment? Try different presets and see if it persists. If it just happened out of the blue, I'll bet something got changed some how without you realizing it. Check amp without the hd using only your guitar chord. If that works hook up all the connections for the pod hd ,guitar, and amp, turn them on and re- check. Try it with headphones and see if it works. What type of guitar are you using, if it has two volume knobs for separate pick ups make sure one is not turned right off. I hope you figure it out, good luck. I know some of this probably sounds obvious but an IT guy one time told me a high percentage of his calls were just because a cleaner had unplugged something and no one noticed. Just an afterthought, make sure the volume knob beside the master knob on the hd500 is not turned right down to zero.
  13. The last time my windows computer crashed, it was literally smashed by my sledge hammer. No, no, it was not in a fit of rage it was all thought out in advance Lol! One can only waste so much time with a machine before one gives up on it. That was around five years ago. I went Mac and never looked back! On the whole I have had very few problems with any of the macs.
  14. Hi Joel, I actually love the looper. I find it great for creating lead lines, riffs, and phrases over chord changes. It is a real fast way to try out new song ideas without having to fire up recording software on the computer. I find it great for improving your timing also. As for turning it on and off by mistake... Well maybe we should start actually rehearsing using it and being careful not to turn it on by mistake. After all, if you hit a bum note on the guitar you don't blame the guitar or the strings, you just realize it is something you need work on and you try and improve it. Two settings I personally like are the 1/2 speed which will give a full 48 second loop and the post mode, which allows the overdubbed sounds to have a different preset sound. Don't switch it back to pre though, unless you clear the loop first.... It can get real loud fast if you do.
  15. This is a screen shot of the signal flow screen with the additional looper function controls. You could try turning the volume controls on knobs one and two right down to zero. It is a pain but it might be worth it for some users. I agree they need to address this problem properly.

    Piano effect

Well you learned to play guitar didn't you? Why not piano? if you do decide to get a keyboard and tinker, get some simple music theory books or search on line. This will accelerate your learning on both instruments IMHO . Good luck!
  17. Hello friends, I own an amplifi 75 I have had for close to a year or so. I like the amp but it seems to have one Annoying glitch. I just can't rely on the Bluetooth function to work right 100% of the time. I can usually get it going properly after it acts up, but it takes time, and is frustrating. Does anyone else find this to be the case? I have jumped thru all the hoops and done due diligence by following the website instructions, blah, blah, blah. Maybe Bluetooth is just not a totally reliable technology. I also have a wireless guitar transmitter from line6 and it is rock solid so far, never had a problem yet. I understand it works on a very high frequency So that must be why it works so well.
  18. Hello pfsmithO: Wow, that looks so technical. I have 3 questions my friend, 1. what equipment or programs etc did you use to measure all this. ( just very curious how it is done, not questioning the results) 2. What do the x and y axis actually measure, one looks like frequency, what is the other? 3. How does one use this data to his or her advantage in patch creation, or in recording , mixing etc?
  19. Hi Palico: I am glad it all went smooth for you. I am going to hold off on the new amps for a bit myself. I am pretty new to the whole line 6 product line and I have tons to learn and keep me busy. I may spring for them eventually. The price is very good when you put it up against the cost of the real amps. Enjoy the new amp models!
  20. When you are able to sign in to your account next time you can update your new e mail address. Go to the "my settings" tab under your user profile and you can change and confirm the e mail change. Look on the left side of the screen near the top. The servers are probably very busy now with the new releases. I am not sure how they confirm payment for the downloads. Good luck sorting things out!
  21. My amplifi 75 cuts out from time to time when using blue tooth as well. However my iPad 2 is not that old so who knows why. I simply would not trust it for a paying gig! For home or fun use yeah it's fine, but I don't think it is ready for prime time. I have a Mac book pro but have not tried pairing it with the amplifi. It is a neat amp, I actually like it a lot. I just don't think it is an amp for a pro layer. (Which I am not, by the way)
  22. Hello Ginozzo. I don't know if you realize that you will likely void any warranty on the amp if you try and modify it.
  23. Hi Mikey, I guess they were thinking if they put everything anyone could ever need or want in one product.... They would not sell as many of their other products ? Who knows? Well, then again maybe not, the hd500x had something like 29 amps or so any they just added more for sale and guys are wanting them. I am still working on the fender amp models mostly, Lol. My wife doesn't like the sound of the baritone guitar going thru a metal amp! Lol. Can't see why not.
