    Helix case/bag

    1k lol I started to write a thousand I think.. I dunno. 1,000 + bucks
  2. Helloo posted this in another thread.. should work for you too. OK.. you have to select track input DAW to 7/8 {stereo} [Of course this is considering you have already ENABLED inputs 7/8 in your DAW software] Also the output. This will go to helix to re amp. Global settings on Helix >>> USB 7 {Guitar} USB 8 {Guitar} Done If you only select one input.. say 7 or 8 you will get mono.. enable 7AND 8 {stereo}.. and output 7/8 stereo.. that is dry back to Helix. However you need to change input on Helix to USB also to re-amp. // hope this helps brother

    Helix case/bag

For me.. cramming a 1k + piece of gear into a backpack just seemed like a bad idea. Especially if you ever want to load up for a show.. with other gear in the trailer or van.. no thanks. That is a PLANO AR15 case. The seal is missing but not for long.. will be 100% watertight and safe from accidental crushes , falls, or random acts of nature

  7. Hey ... been a while since I've used reaper.. but on cakewalk I have to set my track input to either left right or stereo. Otherwise.. no stereo. This holds true with USB as well
  8. My friend.. there is a plethora of options. You have to experiment to find "your" tone. Only you know what you like or don't like. Try turning gain back and cranking treble.. vice verse.. add eq after merge block, before split, before or after amp.. all those things drastically change the sound. I won't say it's IMPOSSIBLE to get those tones.. but I will say you may have to put in some hours to get it just right.. For the record.. I think I'm going on my 3rd week now. It's been a love hate relationship. It's not like dialing in an amp because there are so many other variables to contend with. Once I figured out the MODE button { HOLD TO EDIT } ... that made life much easier.. you can tap through eq frequencies and adjust with exp pedal.. way cool feature and time saver

    Helix High Gain

I am starting to agree with you there.. for some reason the rectifier just sounds HD500x'ish to me. {I have one I can say that} But really.. there is this sizzle I just can't get out of it without crushing my tone. I have recently started messing around with the MarkIV and have some pretty good results. I am working on a dual MKIV-Rectifier so we'll see how that goes. Thanks to everyone for the input~~~!

made a dual patch with the IV Leads blended. OH 4X12 Recto V70 IR split with the 1x12 now.. sounds pretty great

    Helix High Gain

I have just started messing around with some different combinations.. downloaded some OH IR's.. I'm not sure I like them any better. I like that I can control the distance with the stock IR's.. it adds depth to the tone. I've been experimenting a lot with blending cabs and IR's.. fun stuff This pedal is definitely entertaining

and thank you for the advice I will try it out. \,,/

    Helix High Gain

You are probably `105% correct. I guess the reason I choose the rectifier is because it is what I own.. and have toured and played with for around 10 years. I am confident I can get just about any tone I want out of my amp/rig. Never a problem matching anything I want to get really... I'm not a big fx guy I like the raw sound except for solos. Honestly I have never even considered changing it up. I mentioned those bands just as a starting point reference.. I would be happy just to get " my tone" really. I'm not all about sounding like someone else. I just want this to sound the best it can if shooting for those types of gain I guess if that makes sense. To make myself more clear I am wondering what steps one needs to take to achieve the best high gain tone no matter what amp and what settings for recording, and live performance, And metallica is using fractal now and testament is using kemper... where does that leave me? lol
  14. 8:45 {trainwreck} Yeah... it is. THAT is the preset he pulls up to show what the axe can do? Maybe it sounds better in person ?
  15. USA LEAD + (based on MESA/Boogie Mark IV) LINE 6 HELIX Cali IV Rhythm 1 Rhythm I channel of the MESA/Boogie® Mk IV Cali IV Rhythm 2 Rhythm II channel of the MESA/Boogie® Mk IV Cali IV Lead Lead channel of the MESA/Boogie® Mk IV
  16. It's not the fractal flavor so much as it is the amp and signal chain that was used I think. As Mikah stated I think I have heard better stock presets than those tones I will try to find some examples.
  17. lol Now I'm in trouble you have back up.
  18. I have watched a lot of your vids.. very informative. And I would venture to say what lead me to purchasing the Helix. Thank you for the advice. And furthermore.. great playing... and your custom tones are pretty spot on. I'm a fan lol
  19. To be honest for about the last year I have been saying if I had a fractal in my HD500 pedal it would be a perfect marriage. For MY tone.. and what I need I think Helix can deliver. I am not going to say I still don't want a kemper and a fractal because I do. But then I would spend many more weeks learning all that.. and 1000's more lol Best of luck brother

    Helix High Gain

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_DwDsB1ebWEZWdNRld3cW8xTFk/view?usp=sharing Did a quick mastering job and brought up the levels. Still haven't touched guitar tracks
  21. Glad you are happy now. I have been splitting my signal and using a 4x12 mesa cab on top and backing off the mic to add space, and put ownhammer v70A IR on the bottom.. sounds pretty fat
  22. I'm using $30 Behringer headphones and it sounds killer HPS3000
  23. Most on board effects have a mix option.. maybe that got bumped and when you turn it on it could be cutting your signal? I usually try to single out what is causing me the problem and then delete that block and start over lol
  24. I had to add a gain block and raised it to like +10 for my solo part because when I turned on the other effects it took punch right out of my preset. However I am relatively new at this and still have not used the Helix for anything other than recording.
