  1. I have great news! I just did a quick test recording with Logic Pro X on the latest version of Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.4, which was released today) and FINALLY the glitches are gone! I totally recommend an upgrade for everyone that has had issues using the Helix as their audio interface. I cannot wait to start recording directly with it!
  2. I just updated helixhelp.com with a full-site PDF download for firmware 1.06.5. Thank you andreas for providing it and coming up with the idea!
  3. Thank you for this link. It has been added to helixhelp.com as well.
  4. I just updated helixhelp.com with more in depth information regarding Common Amp Settings. This information can be found at the bottom of the amps page. Thank you amsdenj for providing the information. I've also added further information regarding tone controls to the amps page. Thank you duncann for providing the link to that information. In the future, if anyone has improvements they'd like to see on helixhelp.com feel free to send me a private message.
  5. Thank you amsdenj for providing more in depth information. The amps section of helixhelp.com has been updated with your improvements and added a thank you note as well. In the future, if you (or anyone) has improvements they'd like to see on helixhelp.com feel free to send me a private message.
  6. I've been using a Mission Engineering Gemini 1 FRFR cab. Gets super loud. If you need louder and stereo, the Gemini 2 is ridiculous. Both have super transparent sound. I love mine.
  7. Okay, All of the amps (guitar and bass) on http://helixhelp.com now have pages associated with them that contain reference videos (where I could find them). These pages will eventually include additional information, notable players, images, and a brief history description for each individual amp but that will definitely take some research and time. We're at a great starting point though! I hope you all like it.
  8. Just wanted to give an update on this. I've begun adding the reference videos to Helix Help. It'll take a bit of time to get every model updated though.
  9. A new section has been added to Helix Help entitled "Reset Options". These options are now listed there. Please let me know if anything seems wrong.
  10. Great idea. I'll add links to the videos as soon as I get a chance. Hopefully, they'll be there before the end of the week. I'll keep you posted.
  11. Today, I made a very minor adjustment to the home page of Helix Help stating that the site is up-to-date with the latest firmware version 1.06.5. It looks like no models were changed or added during this update so no further updates have been made to Helix Help. Thanks!
  12. Thank you everybody for the positive feedback. I knew I needed something like Helix Help. I suppose everyone else did as well. :)
  13. Funny that you mention this as I actually have something like this planned for each model on helixhelp.com. I'm also looking into opening up the editing of pages to other people so we can really get things going as a community.
  14. I've updated the amps, mics, and wahs with links to manuals (where I could find them) or other information. If anyone comes across a dead link or if you have a resource/link to a manual that would be a better fit for a model (or you can provide a link for one of the missing ones), please let me know. Thanks!
  15. Great idea. I've updated most of the effects. Will work my way through the amps, cabs, mics, and wah pedals when I get a bit more time.
  16. Hey guys, I wanted a place to visit that listed all of the models inside the Helix as well as the product each of them were based on. I couldn't find anything on the web so I made something: http://helixhelp.com The site is current with firmware 1.06.0 and I'll continue to update it and add features as time progresses. I'm not affiliated or associated with Line 6 or any of the products modeled by them. This is just a fan site. I hope you find it convenient and useful.
  17. Speaking from a software engineer's perspective, I am pretty dumbfounded that people willingly use extremely outdated, unsupported, and unsecure operating systems. I hate to say it but you are the same folks that use Internet Explorer 8 and expect web applications to function just as well as they do on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or IE11/Edge. You're only hurting yourselves and slowing down innovation for the rest of us. Thank goodness companies like Line 6 and Microsoft have dropped support for these legacy systems. Get with the times people!
  18. I, too, can vouch for the Mission Engineering Gemini. I use the Gemini 1, which is a mono version of the Gemini 2, but it has a pass through for stereo if I want it. I was playing bass with a band the other day: Bass -> Helix -> Gemini 1 Sounds straight-up amazing. I dialed in my tone with a pair of studio headphones beforehand. At the practice space, I didn't have to modify anything. Sounded exactly as I wanted it. Fat, solid, and clean at all volume levels. Gemini 1 is plenty loud as well. I had its volume at about 3:00, and was playing over two guitars, a drumset, and a singer.
  19. I have two quick questions: 1. Is there a typical firmware/software release schedule for Helix? 2. Is there a mailing list that we can sign up for that will let us know when a new software update is available? Thanks!
  20. Check out Mission Engineering Gemini 1 and Gemini 2. Gemini 2 is a stereo cab, Gemini 1 mono (but you can connect two together to get stereo). They also have bluetooth connectivity and an audio interface built-in. Both are plenty loud for gigs. Super clean as well.
  21. If it does turn out to be a hardware issue Line 6 has a nasty recall situation on their hands.
  22. I imagine it *will* be possible once Line 6 fixes the Helix's USB connectivity issues. Currently, You cannot use input and output simultaneously from the Helix on a Mac as the output turns into garbled digital distortion, rendering the feature unusable. Once they fix that issue via a firmware update or something, setting up an aggregate is pretty straight-forward otherwise. I currently have an Eleven Rack running alongside an Apogee Quartet with no issue. Of course, this is just speculation.

    Creaking pedal

Disregard my last post. I used White Lithium Grease... here are the steps I took... 1. Took off bottom cover. 2. Using a q-tip (flattened) I added a small amount of White Lithium Grease to the outside edge of the expression pedal's rubber washer (trying to get it around the entire edge the best I could). 3. I moved the pedal up and down for about 30 seconds. 4. I repeated steps 2 and 3 until the squeek disappeared. 5. Closed it back up. With this method you don't need to get into the ugliness of disassembly (other than taking off the bottom cover) since moving the pedal up and down will "grab" the lubrication and spread it around for you. I hope this works for someone else as well.

    Creaking pedal

What lube did you use to fix this? Mine just started creaking as well.
