  1. I don't catch everything in your explanations and how you arrived at this conclusion :) I have got a LT too and I've got really no regret, i miss nothing.... I can understand that when L6 launched the first HX you had no other choice but nowdays, really look in detail if you need the plus brought by the Hx floor.... Following your needs you could have to buy it but i have a doubt... Is that : i pay more, i have the best thing..... ; Of course, yes, but i really think the extra money is not justified....(exept for some rare cases). IMHO, you could eventually add a FRFR speaker for the price if you don't have one....
  2. :), it was what i was thinking at the beginning.... lol But you're right it seems there's a possibility shown in this vid, i don't know how they do so (may be a fx loop block...) I don't own the stomp but i've seen the ability to send midi too, i thought it was impossible, this was really the main thing that prevents me to buy one. In this demo, there's powercab's model speaker changing, what i was looking for, thanks a lot Kilrahi, i want one now !!!! I just have to talk to my wife now !!!! ;)
  3. Allright, i'm sorry, i didn't understand that !!! Nevertheless, in this chain construction, you'll have a problem. i'm gonna take a simpler exemple. If there's only one amp sim, you split the signal after this one. You go to a cab model and to FOH from a stomp's output. On the other hand, you go from your amp sim into the return of your actual amp but it means you have two series poweramp, no ? There's a matter too...
  4. Iv'e understood the opposite but the Helix amp effects blocks mean a preamp + the poweramp. In this chain it means you have a preamp block + an amp block (preamp + poweramp) + the effetcs go into the poweramp of the valve amp....Thta's like having two serial amps (no exactly in fact)...
  5. The main problem is that "your old school valve amp" contrains you to have all the effects before the preamp. It's allright for the distortion but for delays, reverb, modulation, it changes everything following the place in the chain !!! You seem to want flexibility but with that constraint you won't be able to have a lot. IMHO, and for your needs, the best would be a HX stomp or a Helix LT and a FRFR speaker....
  6. i don't use it too. I've tried it before but i use the model speakers and have done the cut per speaker (high and low cut), you have this function for the Full range too.... Those setups have a real incidence on the sound your hear from the PC+ as the mic choice and its positionning (it wouldn't have to.....)
  7. In this case, you've got a path that have the preamp (HX) - The power amp from the Suhr and the the Suhr's cab. On the other one you've got the HX preamp and a cab, isn't there something missing (a power amp) ? The best way would be to have real parrallel path with different configuration (i think the stomp can't do so), and the stomp is so limited in term of blocks that you won't be able to create complex things. You should only create simple patches to go direct to FOH (and work with an active FRFR speaker) or use the stomp like a pedal board and mic'd your amp (or buy a HX LT)
  8. You're welcome if you wanna visit a famous palace near Paris !!! ;) Unfortunately, i've got only one PC+, we won't be able to try that with more than three (and i think you won't comme with yours) ): ): !!!
  9. Yes, i think it would be able to but i've seen that in the next helix's update, you've only got two PC+'s accessible parameters. I assume that you can program a preset with a FRFR or a Green cab on one hand and a cream speaker on the other one.... So, as for stereo preset, i don't know how it will behave in those cases and how the following PCs will be supplied....
  10. The manual tells that you can have stereo going from your pedal via L6 link into one PC+ then output PC+ one into input L6 link PC+ two.... But i don't know if it works for more than two PC+. I don't believe that it could be well separated right/left I think the best way would be to go from left XLR/TRS from your device to the XLR input 1/2 on the PC+ then the other 2 PC+. The same for the right side. The other question would be to change the model sim, you have to plug a lot of midi cables.....The next firmware upgrade will provide a way to choose this for two PC+ in Helix but no more.... On the other hand, i don't see the need to have more than two PC+. You plug the 2 ones and, for big lives for example, you go direct into FOH in stereo.....
  11. @Herculees, Have you read the subject ? It was from OP : i want another Helix declined device. I didn't say : change nothing, helix is perfect there's no need to create a new tool in future. I said : Helix brings a huge range of devices more than the concurrence so i don't see the reason why L6 would bring something else.... I was wrong because since may 2018 L6 has commercialized the Helix stomp......
  12. I'm not an expert too ;) I've read quickly that the opened-back design seems to loose bass. There is a part of frequencies that goes rear and come back in front and cancel/attenuate the fisrt ones. That kind of amps seems to be clearer (fender, vox). I've seen that there's a lot of acoustic amps that are closed back.... I assume that L6 have choosen this design to have a more bassy speaker for bass too and a better front sound projection for every configurations..... I was just thinking about electric guitar and like my fender amp.....
  13. I've already read that the PC needed a closed back speaker design to obtain a FRFR but i don't catch why. FRFR means you have a sound reproduction the closer as possible of the source (flat response) and you can have a huge range of frequencies brings with the add of the tweeter (Full range). I don't see the direct link with a spatial sound and FRFR possibilities. But there must be a reason, i've never seen an opened back FRFR speaker.....
  14. It's gonna arrive in the next update. The powercab command will be integrated in the helix's output block as it's done for variax in the input block. The plus of the PC is that the inside speaker models deliver the sound of the speaker alone (without mic'd)....
  15. I don't think the need is the power in those cases. I have one PC+ and pretty pleased with it but, even if i can obtain sounds i like, i've got a 2x12" too and something's missing with the PC. I believe that i don't have this breath. The PC is very directionnal, i have to always tilt it back to go directly to my face (and my ears) to appreciate every subtil nuances in the sound. A good 2x10" opened back PC+ would be a good compromise (for the sound and the weight) but i don't know the design consequences on the FRFR modes.....
  16. Thanx for those explanations Kilrahi !!!! This is clearer !!!
  17. Hello, I've got a Helix LT since one year and have seen this new cheaper price which seems relly interesting (comparing to the previous one). Nevertheless, i've got a newbee question about this kind of product. I think it could bring me the ability to create presets without connecting my Helix to my computer. But i don't see other adds (so the price wouldn't be so inexpensive for my utility). If i even want to record on my daw (thing i do rarely), i have to connect my Helix to my computer..... So what are the others advantages of this product or ways to use it ???? Tx
  18. I've tried it again. I've gone in the FRFr menu, when you change the voicing and go on the LF Flat there's no mic'd proposition that appears as it's the case in the speaker models..... So i think the Flat models need a cab sim before (Imho, the manual is really confusing). L6 should be clearer on this point. The "Natural" speaker is closer to the definition of typical guitar speaker
  19. This is really confusing. I thought all was clear but now, i have a big doubt. I've read the manual (in my language, it would be easier) again and that's really not clear. I thought all Flat models couldn't bring the ability to have a mic'd sim and it was logical but this speaker mode in the LF Flat says something else.... Does it mean that the LF Flat is a kind of Natural mic'd sim you hear directly ? And i don't even understand the LF Solo / Natural difference (and there's one 'cause the sound is really not comparable....) I'm gonna check it when i'll be back home !!!! :)
  20. I don't think so, I think that Flat modes need a cab model or an IR for those reasons : - I've tried without a cab sim and the sound is very harsh, ....A way better with the cab sim !!! - The flat modes don't bring a mic'd sim on the XLR output because it's already on the cab or IR block - The sound of the LF Raw and the natural would be the same and that's not the case..... It's not weird that if you don't use an acoustic guitar, you can send an enterily modeling path and having a way to turn off the tweater..... Following that logic, whatever you send to the FOH, there's a mic'd sim somewhere......
  21. I've bought the plus (only one for the moment) for three main reasons : the midi input that brings the model changing command. The L6 link (that can split the right/left when you link two powercab (or more) together), and i bet will command the model changing with an update of the Helix/PC+. And the possibility to update the plus ; i believe that L6 will purpose new cab models in a futur.... I don't care about the inside memory IR's slots..... All depends on the way you use the PC......
  22. Hello Amsdenj, That's not exactly how i understood it ! I can be wrong but i think i'm close to the right conclusion. There are three flat modes as you said : - The FRFR (you can put all you want, the tweeter works, you have the high frequencies) - The LF Flat and Raw : in those two modes, the 1x12 is the only speaker that works (one with an EQ), but the principle is the same, you have to have a cab in your helix's preset (with the mic'd, etc....) It works like a half FRFR if i could tell so.... The Guitar speaker models are like non-mic'd guitar cabs and provide an "amp in the room effect". Nevertheless, i wasn't entirely satisfied at first even if it gave me the best result. I read on TGP a post from "GuitarDave" who told that even if there shouldn't have any incidence from the mic'd option in this mode, the choice of mic, position and high/low cut has an incidence on the sound......I was estonished but it has an incidence, it's a fact. The natural speaker correponds to what you said : directly the sound of the internal eminence speaker.
  23. Another problem is that some OPs stand on the more offensed posts and seem not to read the help and try solutions that can be brought. I thought you were having the same matters i had at fisrt. If i've well understood your needs ; you haven't enough volume on stage (and you don't want an IEM's solution). Before going on the front FRFR solution (that can be done ((easily)) ; Have you tried to tweak parameters i talked about to improve your volume (and one more time, tilt back the PC+ is limit a must) ????? I know that the advertissement tells the PC delivers amp in the room feels but it has to be tweaked (and the helix parameters too (furthermore following the guitar))..... It's not really a real combo and a plug and play....
