I figured it out from a post here on the forum!
The short story - instead of using CC information like you would do normally
change the parameter to Automation and choose a 'Knob'. Then go to Logic
Pro X - 'Controller Assignments'/'Learn' and push the pedal down and up.
The Knob will be learned - and now I have control over the Wah Wah.
I repeated the same for Volume control - took it from CC #7 and changed
it to Knob #10, Repeated the Learn Assignment - and Voila - I now have
Volume control as well.
Weird work around - but it works fine.
I've been scratching my head for two days trying to get Helix Native
as a plugin in Logic Pro x to recognize the expression pedals on my
Behringer FCB 1010 pedal board. I'm using a 2018 MacBook Pro -
High Sierra - Logic Pro X - Appogee Duet USB and a mio iConnect
Midi Din to USB to connect to the laptop.
Background info:
I have a midi utility that shows me midi messages being sent, channels etc...
I set the Expression Pedals on the FCB1010 to CC 20 (for a Wah) and CC 7
(For Volume). Using Logics built in pedal board Wah - I can easy assign
CC 20 to control the Wah and I'm done. In Helix I've set the Wah Pedal to
CC 20 - and I get nothing. Midi Utility shows the messages being sent.
Current Predicament
I created a MainStage file - using the Helix Native as a plug in.
MainStage shows my CC numbers and the pedal travel just fine.
I can physically see the expression pedals going from 0 to 127.
Helix Native still can't.
I'm not married to the FCB (I've had it for a while and it cost very little).
Trouble is I see nothing out that acts as a control pedal board in Helix
Native - well barring buying the Helix LT - which is a bit pointless becuase
I bought Native so as to not spend $1K.
Anyone with a solution or answer?
