  1. I feel your pain. I have the floor and the stomp xl. I would love to be able to be in stomp mode, hit mode to change to a different preset, and have it pop back to stomp mode. IIRC, it would do that for snapshot modes (maybe not though). One thing I recently did sounds like it may work for you since you are only using two presets. I used the command center to make FS2 go to a certain preset. On that preset, I used command center to have FS2 go back to the original preset... and Voila, you can stay in stomp mode and go to 2 different presets. You could also have the FS go next or prev. The only downside is you lose a footswitch to turn a stomp on/off. To me, that loss was worth it on my Floor. I may do the same with my Stomp XL. Give this a try, it is pretty easy to do and it may help! Good luck.
  2. yep, Pan's law... of course I would have never remembered that, or even known about without the great people on the site. So much knowledge is shared on this site. it is great.... and thank you! bottom line (i think) in answering your question is that it will add 3db to your total signal path, which makes it louder. You can see that in the merge block from the parallel.
  3. I have several "kitchen sink" patches with different amps. These are great when jamming, or a start for something else. I don't do the preset per song because it seems redundant, but that is me. I play in a few bands and with one band I have one preset that I use in stomp mode that covers every song we do. In another band, I have to switch to an acoustic guitar. I use the command center to have a FS that will go to the next preset (electric goes to acoustic preset and the acoustic FS goes to the electric). This works great because it lets me stay in stomp mode the whole time. I just started doing this and really like it. I may do the same thing where I tie my "kitchen sink" patches together so I can access different group of effects. The great thing is there are SO MANY Options! Of course that is also bad, but a good bad!
  4. wow, this is very interesting. I have not noticed this behavior and have do a lot of copying of presets. I am up to date on the all the versions.
  5. you mean you hit a note on the guitar and you hear something.. yes, that is what ATIR's do.
  6. I know the stomp XL does have Set Lists... or at least you can save and import setlists. Surprising the stomp doesn't have that feature.
  7. My setup at home is close to yours rd2. I have the 112+ on top of my 212+ and really love it. I have never played/heard the catalyst. Your post was the first time I heard that it had the Flether/Munson built in. That is interesting. I know it really is impossible to perfectly "fix" it with eq, but you can come close. I used to use an eq block to compensate for Fletcher/Munson and it was pretty close, but definitely had room for improvement. I know it would be hard for them to add that feature as a block or eq settings because of the infinte ways of playback with the helix, but it would be cool if they provided something as a start for people. Just a thought!
  8. and like your recliner, you would have gotten your use out of it!
  9. wow, sorry for your experience. get a new one is the best answer.
  10. I know this doesn't help, but there are thousands of things to try. Look at Jason Sadites videos, they are good. Also John Nathon Cordy and Steve Serlacci. You could also try adding a cab in your original approach (going into the return). Some people like that better. For me, the only cab that sounds good is the legacy bass 15 ampeg cab. all the rest are too metalic sounding. Good luck and hope you don't give up. It can be worth the time.... especially later on when you start to factor in setup/breakdown and travel.... so much easier!
  11. i have the 112+ then got a 212+ also. the 212+ sounds better, but is heavier and with my back, that is important. I do love the sound of both though. I recently got the QSC 10 which is light and loud and sounds really good. I have been using it at home (in between bedroom and jam room levels) paired with the 112+ cause the 212 is at our practice house. I like the sound of the two of them together. I have recently been using the QSC with StompXL as a quick carry on vacations or open mic nights. it sounds great. back to your question though, I agree there is a shelf life for everything.... and it usually happens right after I buy something :) But hey, we also have a shelf life and whose to say which is longer. So if it sounds good.... do it!
  12. could the amp sag have something to do with this?
  13. I don't think you can do that. however, you could use command center and have your the FS's change per snapshot. I am not sure if you can assign a block to a FS in command center, but you could create two snapshots that use your chorus and reverb, then depending on which snapshot you are in, you could assign a FS your chorus or reverb snapshot. One drawback is I think you have to be in stomp mode for the command center assignments to work. I don't know if they work with Snap?/Stomp mode. You could easily test it. If not, just put your 4 snapshots assigned to the top 4 FS's and do that in each snapshot.... That would give you close to the same thing. just a thought.
  14. just for the curious.... I ended up setting my snapshots 1 through 5 to be like below and used the command center to stack the snapshots all on FS1. I also set the color to blue except for when they are all off and that is set to white... this was tricky, see below. 1. all (script, trem, chorus, rotary, twin harmony) off 2. script on /rest off 3. trem on / rest off 4. chorus on / rest off 5. rotary on / rest off I have snapshot 7 set to turn on the twin harmony block. I have snapshot 8 set to turn on the chorus, and two delays (this is my ambience setting). I used the command center to stack snaps 1, 7 and 8 on FS2. I have the rest of my FS's assigned to two dist. pedals, drive/vol amp parameters, channel output gain, looper, slap delay, 360 simple delay, double delay. So without having to switch from stomp to preset I can turn on/off 14 pedals. that does not include the multiple on/off/parameter changes in the ambient setting. I have the snaps 7 and 8 FS1 set to snap 1(all off). This keeps me from cycling through multiple clicks if I want to turn off the mod pedal selected in FS1. That works great for me.
  15. make sure volume pedal is set to log...
  16. yes I see what you are saying about the bypass state..I could not have snap 2 (trem) on and turn snap 7 on (extra delay). for the snaps 1 - 4 to work, I would have to ALL my other blocks with the snapshot bypass unchecked so they don't get changed with snaps 1-4. Well maybe they need snapshot groups where the snapshot bypass for the block could by checked or unchecked based on the snapshot or snapshot group. mmmm.....
  17. yes, thanks to this forum and many smart people like yourself. Found out several years ago. Used to use an EQ block to get close. Not perfect of course. However, I'm getting to the point now where you can kind of understand what will happen at the different levels.
  18. I have the helix floor (and Stomp XL). I have found it easiest to stay in stomp mode during live performances so my preset(s) are setup up like a real pedal board with some exceptions to a stomp that changes the Vol/Drive parameters of the amp. The preset has Tremelo, Chorus, and Rotary blocks. I have snaps 1,2,3,4 set to turn them all off or turn one on individually. I used the Command Center to create a stackable snapshot for FS1 that cycles between snaps 1-4. This works great. It is like have extra foot switches to turn the pedals on or off all while in stomp mode. I have several delay 4 delay blocks set. Only 3 have an assign FS for on/off. I wanted to create another stackable Snap FS on FS6 that would cycle through Snaps 5-8. When I go to Command Center and select snapshot for FS6, the FS6 scribble strip never shows anything and nothing gets assigned. I am basically trying to replicate what I did on FS1 with stackable snaps 1-4... but it is not taking. Has anyone else tried to have two FS's be stackable snaps? Thanks in advance!
  19. quick question. It is suggested to use 80db level to set the amp. At what distance from the sound source? That makes a difference.
  20. Well, i'd give you my 2 cents worth, but ...... :)
  21. the short answer is No. You can however use the command center to assign some snapshots to some buttons, and some presets to other buttons. that would combine snaps and presets. but it would not be preset mode.
