  1. oh, and btw, during all of this I realized that all I really need is a way to boost my signal when in snapshot mode. It would be great if the command center would let you replace a snapshot with a stomp.... or some other way of just adding 3db when I want it.
  2. this is confusing and well timed, as I just started playing with the command center. However, I'm using the floor, so there may be differences, but probably not many. I also have clean, crunch, and lead snapshots. This may be different than what you were thinking, but what if you set it up so that you could press one button and switch through the three snapshots? I recently did that and it frees up the other buttons for stomps or whatever. check out this post, he calls it stackable snapshots. He does a great job of explaining this and how to do it. snapshot 1 - button 1 : press = snapshot 2(Crunch), release = none snapshot 2 - button 1 = snapshot 3(Lead), release = none snapshot 3 - button 1 = snapshot 1(Clean), release = none this creates the circular reference that lets you cycle through your snapshots. I originally did this, however I changed to just cycle through Crunch and Lead snapshots on button 1. On button 3, I have the button assigned to the drive and volume controls of my amp. one click takes it to clean and clicking again beefs it up. this works best for me. I know this isn't quite what you were asking, but I hope it helps.... the video helped me greatly! Good luck and be sure to let us know how this ends! (or at least the next step, since helix tweaking never ends! :) )
  3. I have the helix floor, so I don't know if this works with the pod go, but I assign the output block to a button and boost the gain by 3db. some do it more, this works for me. If the pod go doesn't have an output block, you could do what we used to do with the HD500x. Add an eq block at the end and just boost main output level, nothing else. Of course some people like to boost the mids as well to have it stand out more.
  4. You may try leveling at -12 instead of 0. Mine are around -9 at the hottest and that is a little hot. I think they say that -12db is the digital equal to 0db. Apologies if that is wrong, but I believe it is close. Most things I've read people shot for -18 to -12db for level setting. Just something to try. I was going to say eq boost, but you are already doing that.
  5. Thank you. I believe this also helps. He's calling it "stackable snapshots"....
  6. Hey, Helix floor user with PC112+ and PC212+ stacked, connected using L6link. My presets are setup like a regular pedal board. I have effects, drives, delays, etc tied to stomp buttons in stomp mode and use the snapshot mode to change reverb, delay levels, combine some drives, and turn on or off certain effects (e.g. Rotary, etc.). I am in 10 stomp mode. My main presets are setup the same except with different amps. So each preset can do just about everything I want, clean to dirty to spacey just depending on which guitar or how much dirt I need. I just started playing with the command center. I found that in snapshot mode, I had a clean and dirty snapshots, but sometimes needed a boost for the lead. So in command center, I assign a button for clean and a button for dirty snapshots in the stomp mode. I already had a boost button in stomp mode. This works fine. So, for my question. Is it possible to have one button go between the clean and dirty snapshot. For example, I click it once and it goes to clean. the next time I click it, it goes to dirty snapshot. Is that possible. It seems like you can set it up to go to one snapshot "on press" and then another on "release"... however you have to keep it pressed down to stay in that snapshot. I also think you can make it go to a different preset, so I guess I could clone two presets and have one in clean and one in dirty, but that would jump to a preset and there would be a pause in sound. Another interesting thing I found was I had button 7 set in stomp mode to change the drive and the volume of the amp. I also had a snapshot for button 7. When I used command center to assign snapshot 7 to button 7, it's like it added the snapshot to the button. It showed "multiple (3)" on button 7 scribble strip. I could also press button 7 and switch between the stomp settings (amp values) and the snapshot. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Sorry for the long post, however thanks for your responses!
  7. to Coda.. , yes I agree the first time you do it, it is probably easier to make the changes manually.... it's the second, third, fourth, etc. that makes the code work better. Especially if there was an interface where you picked the the preset and it did what you wanted... but that is even more development time.... :)
  8. ok. So I believe I understand. you would like to be able to move to a different setlist using foot pedals. That is a very good thought. I would like to do that as well! However, it's not possible (unless somebody could figure it out with the control center or midi?). I changed what I'm putting in my set list because you can't change setlist without bending down :).... Down is not bad, getting back up is my problem :) For example, some of my presets (I call them patches) are the same, but have small tweaks based on my Les Paul or my Tele. I originally had a Les Paul set list and a tele set list. But I sometimes change guitars in the middle of a set, and I was having to lean over to change to that set list. did not work well.
  9. it would be "just like a real amp". they can run your signal to a monitor for you. However, they control the volume of your monitor (which is the way it used to be, so not really a problem). If you have big knob set to control the 1/4 out, then you could control the volume of your monitor. The xlr would be at full signal going to the mains, which is what they want.
  10. I may be wrong, but I believe the poster may be having issues between a preset and a stomp? The reason I say that is he is saying he has 8 presets. If he is in stomp mode, that would be 8 stomps(blocks, effects, etc.). Then he says he wants to 9 for one song. that may mean a 9th stomp (effect, etc.) that he wants. Since he has the LT, he can only have 8 stomps per preset.....or you maybe it is the snapshots. you can only have 8 snapshots. So to the original poster, do you really mean presets? (it's ok, I'm still calling them the wrong thing!) A preset (I call it a patch) is what you have in HXEDIT where you add amps, effects, etc to things. the presets are in banks as rd2 said. Take a look at that and see if that helps. good luck!
  11. There may be a few ways to do that. One would be (if you don't want the wah) is to use the octiver or something like that and assign it to stomp button or you could assign it to the foot pedal. You could also assign the wah to the same footpedal so the footpedal is controlling both. The other way (now that I think about it) will not change the octive... but you could change the frequencies to be a narrow range. I know this is not what you are talking about but it might help someone else.
  12. as you probably already know, a python script could walk through the file and replace/remove the JSON values. Would be an interesting project to create tools to batch modify patches, setlists, etc.
  13. Hope it works for you. I think you will find that it does. Let us know!
  14. As the other poster said, I don't think you will blow your PC. Your ears should tell you if you are clipping or not. You should be fine bouncing in the red. Jason sadites has a video where he talks about this. Basically saying bouncing in the red is ok..... Unless your hear something bad. If you only need a few db, you may try boosting some mids and lowering the bass. It may sound bad by itself, but it will cut through the band and sound good. Apologies if you have already tried changing eq.
  15. I also was wanting to add a boost to snapshot mode. Most of my snapshots change delay and reverb settings, but because of the mode button issue, I also have a clean snapshot and a dirty snapshot. would love a boost button without having to create a "dirty boosted" snapshot. All of this is really just me whining :) ... I love the Helix/PC combo and what I can do with it is just simply amazing. It would have been great even if they never upgraded things or had "paid" upgrades! (shh, don't listen Line6) .... But the fact that we get all this and then new stuff as well..... man, could it get any better than that! Wow!
  16. wish you could at least swap tap tempo and mode. I don't like the top row.... it's ok for somethings, but I have 10 stomps and use snapshots to change reverb and delay parameters, and turn on a stomp or two... it would be nice if the mode was on the bottom
  17. except you cant change which footswitch is the Mode switch... Please, someone tell me I am wrong! thanks.
  18. I have the helix floor, playing through PC212 and PC112+ stacked connected through l6link cable. I have my presets setup to use stomp mode where I have it setup like a pedal board. I also have snapshots set to change certain reverb, delay settings and to turn on some pedals (because I have already used the 10 buttons in stomp mode). So for each preset, I can get a bunch of different sounds by using the stomp mode and the snapshot mode. I need to be able to switch between stomp and snapshot mode easily. As of now, I only know of two ways to do that. 1) step on fs1 and fs7 at the same time; 2) step on fs6. Neither of these options are that easy when playing live. I would love to be able to re-assign the Mode function from fs6 to something on the bottom row, maybe even fs12. Do anyone know if this is possible. I would guess you would do this in the control center, however, I can't find exactly what i want. Any help is appreciated. thanks.
  19. The PC212 has a setting for cutting that out. Sorry, I can't remember what it is called, but if you go to the PC and scroll through the settings options, there is something like a bass cut or low cut or something. It sounds like that is what you need. I'm sure someone will post the correct name for the setting option. Good luck.
  20. I had the helix with DT25 (actually HD500x before that). The DT25 sounded great but was very fragile. I got the PC112+. I play with a few bands and we play out a few times a month (not so much after Covid)... style is rock, country rock, etc. I connect to the PC's using the L6 link and go to FOH from either xlr or 1/4 from the helix (not the PC). I also have it set so the big knob on the helix controls the digital volume only. That lets me turn up the PC w/o changing the FOH. I mainly use the FRFR Raw setting and a 90 cut on bass and 4.2K cut on highs. I have the volume set at zero up to 2. The PC112+ sounds great, but I wasn't happy with it in a full band situation. (of course that was user error, but more on that later). I got the PC212 and was really happy with it in the band situation. Was definitely loud enough and I loved the tones. I have since gotten smarter (? :) ) and improved my patches so now either the 112 or 212 work great depending on what I am doing. My home setup is using the PC112+ stacked on top of the PC212 and have the stereo of the PC212 set to about 115%. I love that setup for home and have used that setup for larger gigs and for some outdoor (party) gigs where we only mic the vocals. For one band (drums, acoustic, bass, guitar(me)) we use the Bose l1 for monitors (set behind us) and the bose M1 set for the fronts. I will use the PC112+ in front of me as a monitor, that sounds great and since it is very light, it is easy and fast setup. Larger gigs I use the PC212 behind me. IMO, the PC212 would be great for your home use. The stereo width (?) setting is really nice and you can really hear the separation. Some say you need two PC112+ to really get that seperation, but I'm not really sure how much better two amps are expecially when you factor in the cost. You do have to provide a good signal to the PC to get the best sounds, however, IMO playing from home is not going to make that much difference. It really depends on how loud you are playing at home. Of course you should always tweak your patches at gig playing level, but if you are playing from home, gig level is probably lower! I say that because in my experience, when I am at home I have the big knob around 12 to 1 oclock..... gig level turns that up to almost master.... and the sound is great at both levels. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give some context to my opinions.... I really love my setup! I have spent a lot of time "tweaking", but I really love doing that as well.... and to be honest, most of the tweaking is probably not necessary because the tones I start with are usually really good!
  21. Didn't you say you sum up both 2a and 2b with an IR at the end? if so, then your question about the different amps being on either side... wouldn't they be summed and the split stereo. (bad writing, sorry!).... What I'm trying to say it that if you bring 2a and 2b back together, then both amps will come out of the left and right of your stereo.
  22. I wonder why they want you to use an amp and not what you have... but anyway.. I had 2 DT25's and absolutely loved them.... except, for me, they were very flakey. I had both worked on several times and had to have the tubes replaced and biased. That is a pain. Also, one of my DT25's bricked when I was trying to upgrade it to v 2.0 so I could use it with the helix. I had a HD500x that I used for years before the helix. I got the PC+ 212 and I am very happy with that. I also have a PC+112 that I use for small rooms. They both sound great to me! Good Luck!
  23. I understand the wanting to get presets to learn. However in my experience, nothing really sounded good. They were very helpful in just showing how others did things, but for me, it was way more helpful to create my own. I started by mimicking Jason sadites basic template for a great tone. Good luck, I've spent way too many hours tweaking and learning, but for me it was a blast!
  24. I believe you could do that. I think the line level is +12db over the mic level, so you could set the global one way and adjust your patches by changing the level of the output block. That should not change your tone. Somebody please confirm the 12db, I'm not sure about that.
  25. This may not have anything to do with it, however if I understand correctly, you are splitting the channel right after the chorus. Is the girth on the bottom Channel? If so, the mix level of the channel may be too low and you are not getting enough of the girth signal coming back when the channels merge. You could look at the merge black after the split and see what the mix levels are. You could raise the level to see if that helps.
