My 2 Cents: Like many have said, companies deliberately introduce products that are imperfect. With the Helix, which is pretty much a computer with some buttons/knobs/in-and-outs, it's all about the software. The software is not perfect. It will never be perfect. The Line 6 people are purposely milking it with gradual improvements... and/or things do get developed gradually over time. Sure, the Helix can have an amazing surfy reverb sound, but they are deliberately taking their time with it. Similarly, the EX "Freeze" pedal, they could have released it 4 years ago. Or how about the concept of a "Global Block" that people have been asking for for years. Not now, not yet... Maybe they'll introduce these in the next generation of the Helix. Let's look at Apple, the first iPhone. It was fantastic, but the camera did not shoot videos, you could not switch between apps, you couldn't copy and paste! All those things could have been implemented from the get-go. However, Apple wanted to say "the new and improved, the best iOS ever..." etc. It took a few years until we could do copy-paste in iOS, while many phones from the early 2000s could do those things. Having said that, the Helix is damn-near perfect for my needs. I keep tweaking my sounds and the more time I spend with it, the better my tones get. I'm glad I bit the bullet and switched over to the digital side. If it weren't for the Helix, I wouldn't have been able to record guitar during the quarantine. Just this weekend, I finally dialed in the perfect surf "drip" reverb sound. I'm sure Line 6 could have included it as its own separate effect years ago. But anyway, here it is, if anybody's interested: -d.

I managed to dial in that "drip" reverb sound. I made a little video too. I feel like Helix effects are extremely powerful, but out of the box everything sounds like lollipop! When I got it, I figured I' be able to get my basic DS-1 + Fender amp sound in no time, wrong was I! Anyway, take a listen to the said "drip" here:

You can clearly see in the images that the buttons on the LT are more spread out. The up/down buttons are visibly further to the left than on the floor.

I got 2 pictures from google images: it seems like the buttons on the LT model are more spaced out as opposed to the Floor model. Does anybody know if it's in fact so? Thanks, d.

Yeah, I'm just deliberating whether I should use an external one or the one built-in. That's all I like to hear!

Hi there. Just curious how the LT expression pedal holding up after one year, 2 years, so on? Any issues, noises, etc? Just wondering whether I should use the onboard pedal or use an external one? It is kind-of flimsy-looking, with that rubber adhesive surface. Thanks!

I got it! The issue is with the touch-sensitive buttons. It only happens when I'm playing barefoot, even with socks on! When I'm wearing shoes, it doesn't happen. Interestingly, I even disabled the touch sensitivity, but it still is on. Line 6, come on now! Fix this!

bump! Discovered that I too have this issue with 2.82. It just started happening. I have a single effect -- envelope filter assigned to one button. When I hold the button for several seconds and then right away tap it fast, it gets reversed. If I do the same exact thing it gets saved in its proper state. Interestingly enough, I have another button that has momentary switching assigned to, but there are 2 effects instead of one and it works ok. Maybe you could try assigning another effect that does nothing -- like a flat EQ block for example in addition. This is disappointing though, I keep finding more annoying "features" everyday and now this.

Hi there. I just got the Helix yesterday. Many other units and keyboards have a way to lock all the presets and controls for live performance. When the unit is "locked" for live performance, the musican cannot accidentally adjust any parameters in the heat of the battle. Boss MS-3 has this lock feature if you press and hold the "save" button for 3 seconds: all knobs and mini buttons become unresponsive, until you unlock the unit. Does something like this exist in a Helix? PS: yes I am quite clumsy, and have to play a complicated set that has frequent sound changes, and the last thing I need is to accidentally start editing my patch during an important solo while people are holding up their cell phones .... or something :) Many thanks in advance, d.
