I'm about to move from my current amp (a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe) to a Headrush FRFR monitor and I would like to ask if anyone has any advice for getting a similar sound. I know there's currently no emulation for that amp, so I would like to know if anyone has ever achieved something similar before starting to tweak knobs until I find something good enough. Any hint is greatly appreciated :)

No offense, but you shouldn't post anywhere if you're not ready to read a post like yours but on the opposite side (you were telling "digital lovers" they're clueless and deaf, then they told you you're wrong). Just a friendly advice :)

I still don't get what's wrong.

I didn't ^_^U I actually played for a while before turning it off when I updated to 3.00. And today with 3.01 I waited until I could make a backup, made the backup, then turned it off when screen was showing the usual stuff. Now that I think about it... 3.00 and 3.01 have been the first updates where I created and restored backups. I wonder if it has something to do with that?

This might be a silly question, but I updated to 3.00 when it came out a few weeks ago and didn't use it till today, to update to 3.01. I turned the Helix LT on and it started rebuilding presets (it did that when I updated to 3.00). Even weired, it rebuilt 999 presets (took reeeeeally long). At first I thought "Ok, maybe last time I forgot to do this. Let's turn it off and on again and see if it happens again". It didn't. Helix LT booted normally. Then I updated to 3.01. Presets we rebuilt as it normally does during an update. So I turn the unit of and on again, and it's rebuilding presets again. I'm waiting to see where it reaches while I write this. Ok, it reached around 500 this time. I turned the unit off and on again. Booted normally. I'm kinda calm right now, but I wonder if this is normal. Has this happened to anyone else?

Now that there's a poly engine, I guess it might be possible adding synth effects like the ones in Meris Enzo pedal (I'm posting it on IdeaScale). https://www.meris.us/product/enzo/#sound

It would be awesome if they could nail shimmer reverbs like the Neunaber Seraphim.
-
What have you done so far?
-
No worries. I already submitted the request (and some others) to ideascale a few months ago ;-)

That sounded a bit like The big Lebowski xDD

I would love a velcro fuzz like the Shin ei companion or the Sasori one from SolidGoldFX.

I know, I know. The poly update just arrived and we have to enjoy it, and the next update will take long, etc. But anyway, I wonder what new stuff could come in the future. As in "has anything been mentioned by the devs anywhere already?". To me, v3.00 has brought so many cool new features that I doubt I'll be as impressed with next updates. The poly effects and the favorites system are already a big improvement. I think future stuff will be more about new amp models and new pedal clones, rather than me capabilities. Although I would die for a poly tuner before they stop development for current Helix family XD

I agree that the right way to do this should be HX Edit not to allow updating Helix devices unless it's updated to the latest version. I might have overlooked that if I had updated the first day.
-
Isn't it "normal" making a backup of your presets and system settings and restore them after updating?
-
Oops! :( I think I'm waiting a few days before updating my Helix LT. I use snapshots a lot.
-
Oh, yes. I meant "can't do this right now". I'll try tomorrow ;)

I see. I can't make this test, but honestly, I wouldn't expect a polyphonic pitch to be as clean as if you just tuned your guitar up or down. These kind of artifacts are a good treat for being able to do what you can do with these effects.

I played with it for hours on Helix native and it sounded just as good as EHX's Pitch fork o Digitech whammy. I think it's truly awesome.
-
Thank you very much! Can't go to my rehearsal place to update my Helix LT for a while, but I've been able to test the update on Helix Native and the new poly pitches are a dream come true! I can finally get rid of my EHX Pitch Fork! :D Also, I loved the new "Favorites" feature and the new Big Muff model. And the new looper mode looks really interesting! Can't wait to test it :) Here's hoping for a polyphonic tuner mode in the future, now that the poly pandora box is open (so I can get rid of another of my pedals). Thanks for your hard work! Helix rocks one more time!

I dunno. I'm a "geek" type customer but I really prefer simplicity on any gadget I own ^_^U

1) I feel it's worth every cent I paid for it. Effects are great, user interface is great, having updates is great... 2) I miss polyphonic tuning and pitch shifting, which is expected in next update. I would also like to see some effects like the Shin ei companion fuzz, and some polyphonic synth sounds similar to 80's King Crimson sound. 3) Even greater.

I don't have my helix around, but I'd start by chaining distortion->a fast but not deep vibrato->a slow and deep chorus. Hope it helps a bit :)

Does that mean they're announcing 3.0 at NAMM, or that it will be out before NAMM and they will announce an update at NAMM?
