Could you post a video of the problem? To me, it works exactly as in previous version, but I might be overlooking something. Seeing what's happening to the bugged unit might help.
-
Oops, that sounds bad. You might want to send an email to customer support so they can help you better. Hope your unit didn't become faulty after the update, because it shouldn't happen in factory settings :(
-
Worst thing about this update is that it's a question of time for me to getting anxious about a desirable polyphonic update lol
-
Wow, I didn't know about Jeff from Smashing Pumpkins using it. Awesome, I love SP :D

True that, sorry. I can only suggest doing a factory reset and then update again to 2.90 to see if anything changes.
-
Try this: Global settings 'MIDI/Tempo' --> 'Tempo Select', set to 'Per Preset'. Of course it has to be fixed, but at least it might be a workaround.
-
Flawless update here. Fortunately had no issues with tap tempo or volume knob as other people report, love the new phaser, and boot time has gone from 20 to 10 seconds! Amazing job. Thanks again for your hard work.
-
I confirm this. I have no tap tempo issues and have it "per preset".
-
In another topic, someone said it's bugged on authentic/accurate mode, but not on transparent.
-
Wow. I didn't expect an update during the covid thing. Great job! Thanks a lot, Dev team! Gonna update after finishing my coffee. Now here's hoping for the next update to be "The Polyphonic Update" :D

I just realized how amazing it is that the Helix devices are updatable. I've used a Boss GT8 since 2007 and just switched to this (I was actually considering the latest Boss multieffects but I read a comment in Thomann recommending Helix better) and I'm already blown away by the options, so knowing that there's more stuff to come is really a gift. Worth every cent.

Thanks SaschaFranck for pointing me to this thread. Here are a few suggestions I left on ideascale: -Shin Ei fuzz (or Sasori, a more modern version): https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Shin-ei-fy2-fuzz-clone/975696-23508 -King Crimson 80s lead synth sound: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/King-Crimson-80s-lead-synth/980392-23508 -Boss BF3 flanger: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Boss-BF3-flanger/975694-23508 -Snapshot/looper and Snapshot/stomp/looper cycles for Mode button: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Mode-button-to-cycle-between-snapshot-looper/980756-23508?submitted=1

Link to right thread? Or any protocol regarding this, as I asked in the post you quoted?
-
Awesome, thanks :) Now, any fans of Shin Ei FY2 fuzz? I recently discovered it (and some awesome clones like SolidGold FX Sasori fuzz) and I would love to have it on the Helix. If anyone wants to support it, here's the Idea Scale link: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Shin-ei-fy2-fuzz-clone/975696-23508 By the way, is there any protocol regarding promoting idea scale tickets? Hope it's not rude sharing it here.

Alright, we all get that you don't like how Line6 support currently works. You can send Line6 an email with your suggestions. Can we get back to topic?
-
"what would be the place to look for those very activities?" He mentioned all the places in the message you previously quoted :) I decided share my answer with you because you seem very interested in knowing it, and your intention doesn't look like cheap trolling at all ;)
-
Thanks! That's what I needed to know :) He mentions all of them in the very message you quoted...
-
Well I guess you can keep complaining for nothing if it pleases you :) From now I will just ignore these posts.
-
The topic would be "Helix 2.9" as the topic title says, and although there's no update yet, we can talk about what we would like it to include. It makes much more sense than complaining about Line6 support in a place that's not meant for Line6 to provide support, at least.
-
Alright, we all get that you don't like Line6 support as it currently is. You can send them a support ticket to complain about that. Can we get back to topic?
-
Thanks! One more question: if there's a problem with the update, is there a safe way to at least get back to factory settings? I mean, with that and making a backup before any update, it would be more than enough for me.
-
Getting back to topic, a newbie question: how common has it been that an update didn't work fine? I mean, has an update ever caused Helix unit to end up bricked? I usually wait for a couple of weeks before I apply an update on this like MacOS, protools and such. Just curious about how reliable Helix updates are.
-
Why don't you try sending an email to Line6 support to suggest this? I mean, it would certainly be more effective than complaining in a forum where no one from Line6 participates.
-
Again, that's not the employees fault, but if anything, Line 6's marketing dept fault. If you feel they should have a person in the forum to communicate on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, you can contact Line 6 and leave the suggestion with some reasoning. I mean, you have a point, but I disagree that the devs are to blame for this. They deserve to do what they want on their spare time. They work to bring you the cool software in your Helix, not anything else :-/
-
That sounds so cool! Did you post that on ideascale? I'd vote for that! :D
