  1. It seems that the problem is my DAW, I'm using Cakewalk by Bandlab. There is a conflict between CC6 and NRPN CC6, all other CC commands working correctly. To solve this I had to enable "Do not intercept NRPNs" for Native, then the normal CC6 started working again. Sorry for the false report.
  2. Can anyone please check if Controller Assign MIDI CC 6 is working when assigned to a parameter in Helix Native 3.61?
  3. Looks like there is a redundant control in the Preamp model of the Cali IV Lead, the Presence control does absolutely nothing. Probably forgot to remove it when doing the Preamp model.
  4. Sorry for the offtopic, but I can't find a better place to post it. Anyone seeing this oddity too with Firefox? I've started seeing this in the past month or so. I don't know who the administrators is so I don't know who to tag about this issue.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/events/350135866929391 So sad it is on facebook only. :(
  6. This. Please keep bluetooth, ipads, iphones, iclouds, and all other obsolete-next-year toys far away from professional guitar gear.
  7. Did you solve this? Did you try rolling back to 3.00? I am certain that if it is a software problem, it is solvable.
  8. FS 6+12 update mode only works with Line 6 Updater not HX Edit. Try running the Updater first, then powering on the Helix with 6+12. Change USB pot.
  9. Try reflashing the firmware with Line6 Updater. Boot the helix in Update Mode (hold footswitches 6 + 12, power on), and use the Updater to flash the "Flash Memory (5MB)" of v3.01 you can find in the download section. Don't worry about presets, and backups now, first resurrect your Helix.
  10. First try the headphones output on your LT. How do you connect your LT to the audio system, USB, SPDIF, XLR, 1/4", audio interface? Please describe the entire chain from helix to speakers., need more information.
  11. There are multiple ways as you suggested. You can Bypass Assign a single footswitch with multiple blocks to it to enable lead sound, and assign MIDI CC# 0-69 to it. ie. overdrive, parametric eq with mid push and 5db gain boost. Or you can change Snapshots with MIDI CC# 69, 0-7, as you said. Both work equally well. edit: If you want to change a parameter (Gain, Volume) on a already ON block via MIDI you would use Controller Assign. So there, three ways to activate Lead sound with MIDI in a single patch. Which way is 'better' is completely up to you.
  12. I don't use any converters. RCA cable from Helix to Focusrite. I also use Helix Floor so there is no Clock Source setting in the Helix, I believe it is always Internal.
  13. Are you absolutely sure that the Tendak is not causing any issues? Try to switch the clock sources of the Apollo to Internal, so both are Internal and check if you get any sound. My Focusrite Saffire doesn't lock sync with SPDIF when its Sync Source is set to External.
  14. Yes, in "Global Settings" at "Preset Mode Switches" you can mix Snapshots/Stomp/Preset. Or you can use the Command Center to mix just about everything with everything in the Helix.
  15. That's for sure. Have we ever got a 0.1 update without any new stuff? Nope. I bought my Helix Floor back in March 2020 with firmware 2.72, and every firmware I updated since delivered plenty of new goodies. I love the Helix platform.
  16. I bet a million bucks this ease-of-life "issue" will be attended and fixed in v3.1.
  17. It was tweaked in 3.0 but still remains slow as heck.
  18. I think HX Edit should prompt the user to update HX Edit first with a link to the download website, before allowing the hardware update. Or linking the "Updating Helix/HX" page when a new update is found, with big red letters READ THIS FIRST. Maybe even informing about the existence of the "Line 6 Updater" in case of update or boot failure. Anything will do as long as the user informed to update HX Edit first in some way or form. I have to admit, I forgot to update HX Edit first this time, and I'm not a new to updating the Helix, I had no problems updating thankfully.
  19. I've posted this on TGP too. Das Benzin Lead preamp only lacks a lot of volume. My bypassed guitar is twice as loud than this preamp even with Master and Ch volumes at 10.
  20. OwnHammer (r)Evolution pack for multi IR pack that has most classic speakers and cabs you'll need for many amp types. OwnHammer Heavy Hitter 2 for metal. The (r)Evolution pack should get you covered for everything, including metal. https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=192_193&products_id=449
  21. Exactly the same thing happened to me updating my brand new Helix to 2.80. Change USB port. Preferably one on the back of your computer. What strange that it was working on the first USB port and started updating, but died during update.... I had to change USB ports for the Helix to be recognized again.
  22. Another big thing I have to mention with Helix modeling is the power amp controls (Master Volume, Presense, Resonance) behave like on the real amp they modeled, while on the Axe-Fx they are tweaked to be more "ear-pleasing" and might not represent the real amp. Especially the Master Volume and Presence controls. Most real power amps already distorting at master volume of 2-3 as on the Helix,, while on the Axe-Fx 3 the the power amp is still clean at 5. That's one of the biggest differences people hear between the two. Try a Master Volume setting of 1.5-2 on the Helix to be equal to AxeFx on 5,, especially with high gain amps. As I already said,, the Helix uses a modeling behavior technology which measured from the real amps and represents them much more accurately than the AxeFx which is approximated from the schematics.
  23. Two completely different modeling technologies. AxeFx uses SPICE schematic modeling which might not be exactly accurate as the real amp even though all components in the schematic are drawn according to the schematic. Helix team measures each gain stage in a REAL AMP and get frequency response in each node of the REAL AMP they model, and only then model the behavior of each node digitally, thus creating an almost identical digital representation of the real amp they used. This behavior modeling includes all the knobs and complex relationships from input to speaker, (negative feedback. impedance curve, power and output transformers, etc..). If you think AxeFx is more accurate you are wrong. Helix amp models are fundamentally more accurate as explained above.
