  1. Shrill seems to be about 3200 hz for my ears. Is there a vocal switch on the k10? Experiment with that. I think it has a line-mic selection on channel A. Check that too.
  2. What's the frequency of a C note? 261.63 hz? I would check any eq blocks in the patch.

    QSC K10?

I have k12's and Alto 212's. Cannot tell the difference at all. K10 should be just fine, although you could probably pick up two Altos 212's for the same price.
  4. After a couple of weeks with Glenn's patches I really could not be happier. I've tried the FRFR, FOH and even dabbled with running to the front of a real nice boutique tube amp! Requires minimal adjustment from one to the other except for gain staging into that tube amp. Going from Clean to Drive 1 to Drive 2 to Lead snapshot is almost an exponential volume increase as more gain is added and hits the preamp stage of the tube amp so I will need to make some adjustment if I go that route. Loving the Dumble, the Bassman and the Trainwreck right now. With a Strat+zexcoils and a Duesenberg 49er.
  5. Use to play an old Epi that had one. Doesn't seem like the eqs cut deep enough though, am I missing something? Position 1--> no cut Position 2--> -5db at 1950hz Position 3--> -12db at 1100hz Position 4--> -16db at 620hz Position 5--> -18.5db at 360hz Position 6--> -21db at 120hz
  6. Dependent on strings and pickups as well (but I'm sure the OP knows that) I have 52's-10's or 11's and to get out of the bass players way I may start at a 130 hz cut, all the way up to 200 hz. Bass and kick can take care of shaking the room.
  7. So in summary-left right feed +10 ms delay/chorus on one side?
  8. So is it a matter of turning the IR imprint up or....
  9. Der Komissar!! Falco and others! Love that tune!
  10. These presets are phenomenal through frfr!
  11. I would also check and make sure any wah is off. Ran into this one time, tone was jsut continually getting sucked out of the guitar, was driving me nuts for an entire gig. Wah pedal was on.
  12. Well no takers on this post but thought I would update-re-flashed the guitar this afternoon, sustain is there, models sound true, combination of Helix and Variax outstanding.
  13. The PF Acoustic patch is phenomenal with my Variax 69S! Worth the price of the entire pack right there! My acoustic models on the variax have never sounded so good!! I was playing wish you were here and wife thought it was the recording.
  14. Strings matter too. If you are using 52's on up on that low E the low cut might even get up to 130-200.
  15. I do not run at high SPL's. Typical stage volume with my Alto's is 95-100 dB and used for on stage monitoring only. Helix volume at 3 o'clock, Altos at 12 o'clock.
  16. I have QSC k12's, the L2T, and two Alto 212T. All are very complimentary to the Helix and require little tweaking. The L2T is exemplary with the feedback control, speaker modes and on board eq all right there and great if you have a lot of solo gigs, acoustic, house, wedding stuff. However I found the more I used the L2T I did not need to engage the special features since I can run a microphone directly into the helix so I ultimately chose lighter speakers and a feedback destroyer over the weight of the L2T. So I ditched the L2T and bough another Alto. The ALTO's are pretty light, lots of handles.
  17. Grass is always greener, always-that's capitalism and I love it!
  18. all of the above are all valid options really, no one method is best. Depends on model and cab, room, speaker, cables, pickup, guitar, humidity, air conditioned, temperature. For me personally I start with 130 hz low cut (bass player and kick cover all of that) and about 7 hz high cut on the cabinet as a start. I use fremens and glen's stuff almost exclusively and for me personally I start with 130 hz low cut (bass player and kick cover all of that) and about 7 hz high cut on the cabinet or ir as a start. If the room is trouble then I use the global eq. I am also very careful of what frequencies I send to a patch that is reverbery.
  19. Again two thumbs up on the big pack. Learned a lot from your patches, tweaked only a couple since i'm obsessed with rotary speakers, four gigs in with no amp and loving it.
  20. Played with a friend last night who just bought a g10. One of the most detailed people (very particular about gear) and he had no issues at all with the tone. range was excellent. We did have one issue though-the g10 hooked up to my g30 receiver on channel 1, took us a while to figure that one out. I switched to channel 7 and everything was fine.
  21. I have a JTV 69S. Question I have is about sustain when using the variax models. WHen using the magnetic pickups the guitar is really outstanding. Clear ringing notes, normal sustain compared to other guitars I have (except for my Gretsch Committee, sustain for days on that one). When I flip to variax models sustain seems to be about half, not a very normal decay of a note. The setup is the variax direct into a tube amplifier, no processing between aside from the cable. Magnetics are fine. Is it time to start looking at the mechanics of the piezo or replace the piezo's?
  22. Rush La Villa Strangiato-An Exercise in Self Indulgence
  23. Just picked up a pair of ALTO 212's for under $500 at guitar center. Rivals my QSC's in clarity for guitar.
