  1. Seemed to be a completely random issue. Played several hours last night and no problems, although I did discover some fret buzz and took care of that. Models sound better than ever.
  2. Just ran into this the last couple of days-a complete loss of high end on the magnetic pickups. Also when I turn the volume pot down from 100% to 80% no more sound after 80%. Piezos and modeling are fine. Tried different cord, different amp, different guitar with different cord and amp. Looks like maybe a bad pot-loose wire with the mags?
  3. I get that but I've run into some things with stereo effects etc that have me a bit puzzled, My first attempt was exactly that-had the combo amp and a powered monitor, routed left to combo, right to powered monitor but still had the acoustic showing up at both. Maybe some stereo effects route to both no matter what? I'll give it another shot tonight.
  4. So playing live I want to have my electric patches going through left output only to an onstage tube amp and the right outputs to only the house board. Whats the best way to accomplish this so I don't have them both going to both outputs? The acoustic is jsut not cutting it through the tube amp, and the electric no so much through the board, however I want to have both acoustic and electric, or variax and mag availablee simultaneously. Some songs I add a sitar to add some flavor to my leads.
  5. So, I'm toying with a few ideas on speakers etc. The first goal would be a fairly nice sized PA, not too big since I think the bigger gigs are down the road. Probably a max of 100-200 people, club, bar gigs, smaller weddings. Bigger venues we may rent or go with in house sound. Would Two L2's and one L3 sub be sufficient enough for 100-200 people? I have an L2T already and pretty impressed, used it for stage monitor, hd500x+l2T, and as a keyboard-vocals amp, I've found no flaws aside from sending the first one back due to a buzzing/resonant fan issue. Would the 2 l2's with a sub do the job?

  7. Follow the suggestions above. If it cannot be rectified through suggestions above you will have to open the unit and reattach the green board the internal buttons sit on. They were originally glued in place (not strapped or screwed) and the glue has dried out and allowed the small push-button/green board to detach. Probably 10-12 screws 4-5 on the back of the unit, 4-5 near the bottom foot pedals. Be careful of loose parts and small springs etc. AND DO NOT PERFORM ANY OF THIS WHILE THE Unit IS PLUGGED IN. Do not skimp on a cheap glue gun or cheap glue. And do not expect this to be the first time you will have to do this.
  8. String gauge too!! I used to play 42-09's, have switched to 52-11's, better balance, better harmonic content, sturdier tuning. I cannot recommend any higher the value of a good luthier to set everything up, I thought I knew how to set a guitar up but in the hands of someone who does it every day world of difference.
  9. adjustment of pickup height and pole pieces goes a long long way. Should be plenty of recommendations on the web. I would start by probably emulating that les paul. Press the strings at the last fret and measure distance from pickup ring to individual strings, same with the pole pieces.
  10. Great tones, possible idea on settings? POD HD X does not translate to HD500X
  11. That's too bad. Maybe a lemon. I've had mine for about 5 years, sounded pretty good with the X3 and a tube amp, better with the HD500X, and then even better when I added a stagesource.
  12. There is a power switch!!
  13. Stagnation is an easy thing to fall into, there are even days where I don't even feel like I have my C game let alone an A game. Best to step away for a day or two just to refresh the neurons etc. If you do find you are in a short term rut (sometimes I can't even stand listening to myself, what was i thinking...), switch to another genre-jazz, ragtime, banjo, mandolin. Very refreshing and thought provoking to switch instruments up, learn an entirely new song on a different instrument-play the electric piano part of "No Quarter" on guitar, or learn the actually keyboard part. It really helps!
  14. Well, you started your post by attacking line 6 so...
  15. I think you ask a valid question, however outside of some type of industrial espionage or going to work as an Line 6 programmer-you will never know, and even if someone from the company told you (not showed) exactly how they did it, would you trust the answer as the absolute truth?
  16. I bought the model packs and just sold my Jazz Chorus finally because the POD actually sounded better! To the OP, you left out a lot of detail, what type of amp do you run the Pod through, what type of headphones, what type of speakers? I like to use Tone Gen Pro (iphone app) to run the speakers through their paces. 20 hz-20,000 hz, plus a pink and white noise generator, also run a spectrum analyzer on a separate ipad to look for any weak spots that I might have to eq later.
  17. That search would be nice, however filling all fields when posting the tone would be required, otherwise only 5% of the tones would have the info. Pull downs ideal to keep the kiddies from putting in non-guitar words.
  18. Remember too that the variax guitars and pickups are specific models, it might be a bit difficult, unless they managed to model the specific guitar your are trying to match.
  19. Did you plug a 1/4" cord into the guitar? Need to do that to activate the variax.
  20. Just remember everything was triple tracked!!
  21. Really really nice, and I'm using a single coil.
  22. you can get it but not with traditional time based effects in the POD. See MeAmBobbo's Guide http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ regarding in and out of phase etc. I think page 108 with a link to a google spreadsheet. Difficult though, lot of math and left brain and right brain working together.
  23. I understand the concerns of the OP, but it just isn't going to happen. If it did (it won't) then folks would want refunds on the amps they don't like!
