  1. Time to repeat my suggestion of the "Line6 Stagesource Ambassadors" program. :) It's less than free gear from Line6 for an endorsement, but you will get Shirts, Stickers, and an exclusive contact to a special ambassador contact at Line6 (and maybe discount on new Line6 gear ;)). In exchange ambassadors feature the Line6 logo prominenty on their gigs, websites and so on and can show off the gear to interested people during a gig :)
  2. Another way to achieve this would be if you load the "acoustic guitar Mic´d" preset for both channels (this preset has the FBS on the channel strip enabled, maybe you have to switch it from vocal to universal for the guitar), pan the two channels one left and one right and create a sub group for both channels. At least this is the way I would do this :)
  3. Never really thought about lightning for our combo.... but if I ever consider to buy some lightning for our shows I now have defenately some ideas to with. But until now I don´t think this will make much sense for our acoustic combo. Most of the time we have sufficient lightning in the venues we play (most of some bars around our area). We just had to play one wedding-eve party without lightning over the last 3 years, so... Nevertheless as being just an average IT nerd I was thinking about how I could utilize a kind of pico projector with batteries for our shows. Maybe just to show a picture of our band logo. Or maybe project little videos over the whole band (e.g. a space flight while playing space oddity or something like this). The projector could then also be placed on top of a speaker and being pointed at the wall behind the band. But on the other hand I don´t know if a pico projector will bring the desired effect if you take in account that these little gadgets don´t have phenomenal brightness...
  4. @dboomer: Yes, I have told our guitarist to use feedbackbusters, but he refuses also to use this Little helper. He think´s he is too quiet then.... *sigh* @digital-Sound: Introduce your Drummer to this: http://www.schlagwerk.de/produkte/cajinto-yambu/cajinto/booster-set/ I promise, he will be A LOT quieter :D
  5. I have no solution for the FBS not working, but just want to throw in some thoughts on feedback issues: I found out that using Line Array type of Speakers are VERY prone to feedback (No matter if using an analogue Soundcraft desk, a behringer Xenyx something analogue desk or the M20d), just hold a mic or acoustic guitar somewhere near the speaker (even 30-40 centimeter will do the trick, no matter if on the side or behind the speaker) and off goes the typical "hummm" or "hiss". At the Moment we are using H&K Soundcaddys. As said before until last year we gigged with an analogue Soundcraft EFX-8 from one of our guitarists and now with my M20d. We had feedback issues every time during our last gigs, no matter if using the new M20d or the old desk. Mainly the feedback is coming from one of the acoustic guitars which is using a combination of Piezo and microphone pickup. Unfortunately we cannot get the guitarist away from using one of the soundcaddys also as his monitor and he is always sitting just on the side of the soundcaddy. Bad augury, I know. BUT: I used the preset for acoustic guitar direct for his Martin, which was not having ths FBS on the channel strip. Changed that to acoustic mic´d preset, which is featuring the FBS on the Strip by default. Looking forward to hear the difference at the next gig. I´m also looking Forward to buy some L3T and use these on our gigs. Hope it will be a big improvement over the Soundcaddys, because our Soundcaddy Line Arrays are not designed to work as monitor AND FOH at the same time IMHO :) So, my conclusion is: OUR feedback issues are related to combination of ignorance, too less knowledge of the M20d and not the right use of our equipment, and isn´t really to blame on the M20d or the FBS built-in. Nevertheless our Sound has improved tremendiously since using the M20d :) What we did and will do once again in the next few weeks is a technical rehearsal where we are going to test some new setups I have created and just Play around with all the Options the M20d offers until everyone in the band is satisfied with his and the Overall Sound of FOH and monitors. We can Play around without time pressure during the soundcheck before a gig. Maybe this is also an Option for you to just get together with the band and Play around with your Options until everyone in the band is satisfied and you can reduce or even eleminate feedback issues. At least this will give you a good Basic Setup for the next gig with only a little (or in some venues a little bit more) tweaking necessary.
  6. Stupid question and not meant offending: Have turned phantom power for channels 7-12 also? Phantom Power has to be turned on seperately for rows 1-6 and 7-12. Nevertheless I have just tried my cajo mic on both rows and both are working just fine. If one row is not working even if phantom power is turned on for that row you should turn it in for repair.
  7. Cool. Thanks for sharing, dboomer. Could use that to save my own Cajon preset :) By the way, can we share community created presets in the future? Maybe by exporting and Importangebot them using the SD Card?
  8. Yeah, found it. It was setup as "acoustic guitar direct" on one of the channels from 1-12. When i did the initial setup a few month ago I thought it would be the way to go with a acoustic guitar coming in trough a DI box. Changed the preset to "acoustic guitar mic'd" and could engage the FBS and changed it from vocal to universal a few minutes ago. :)
  9. Ok, thanks. Maybe an idea to add a delay option to L6 Link connected L3/2 later on with a firmware update? ;)
  10. Hi all, Maybe a stupid question, but I was just wondering if it would be possible to setup a delay line of one or two speakers using the M20D and L3/2's directly from the M20 without additional external equipment?
  11. Hi all, we did a gig yesterday evening and i was looking for a way to enable FBS on a signal chain for an acoustic guitar preset, but couldn't find a way to do this quickly during the soundcheck. The reason i want to put FBS on the acoustic guitar is because the guitar has a built-in mic which is always giving me feedback on stage and the guitarist declines turning it off nor putting in a feedback buster because of his guitar sound (or better said because of the sound HE wants to hear on stage and he doesn't care much for the FOH sound * sigh*). Anyone an idea how to achieve this?
  12. OK, thanks for the hint :) As soon as I´m able to plug some L3/2 speakers to my M20d there will be again a lot of questions. But meanwhile I´m getting used to the M20d, at least as long as it comes to a satisfying livesound for me :)
  13. No, i was talking about the rack-sized boxes with tons of hard disk drives in it. :D
  14. Hey guys, just saw a presentation last week from a big vendor of storage systems and at the end of the presentation you could win a whole day of an expertised field engineer to look upon your Systems. This lead me to the Suggestion, that Line6 may conduct a competition where you can win a sound engineer who will setup your dreamstage at a gig and will share some deep knowledge of what the components are capable of and maybe show off one or two tricks on the handling. What do you think about this, fellow dreamstage users? :)
  15. As I mentioned somewhere else I also saw Eric Clapton using L3t as nearfiled speakers :) Besides from that you can also find hundrets of user videos at Youtube showing off the dreamstage equipment.
  16. Hi Line6-Team, I know that there are indeed TONS of threads regarding to this topic, but I didn´t want to do thread-necromancy of older threads. I also know that you are tired of answering this question (and maybe you just cannot ;)), but: Will we see a Line6 IEM in the near or middle future? Just asking because at the end of this year I will not be able (or better said not allowed) to use my Sennheiser IEM´s in Germany anymore (they sold the frequencies to LTE providers) and I just wanted to know if we should invest to other Systems or if we can save our money to spend it on Line6 products that will fit into our dreamstage setup. :) 4 l2t´s would also do the job I think, but since I am the Drummer and I have a lot of Percussion things and stands to carry around, I don´t want to buy a new car just to get all things transported to a gig :) Is there any news you can share on this one? Cheers Thomas
  17. OK, just to throw in some advice from the network admin perspective: You might want to change the default passwords for your wireless network and the default admin password for the router and also change the encryption to WPA2 if it´s WEP by default according to your router manual after initial setup. Just to keep this pesky not-so-talented script kiddies with their smartphones away from messing up your setup during a gig if they get bored (the more talented will hack the system anyway if they could, but it´s not very likely you will meet one of those at a gig, because it would reuqire more hardware than a smartphone to hack the system ;))
  18. Just a stupid question, but just to be sure: From what you describe, Bassgumbo, is the M20d connected to a LAN port on the router?
  19. ... and a happy new year to all the fellow M20D users here on the forum from southern Germany :) May 2014 bring us some useful firmware updates and me enough money left in my music and instrument budget to get some L3T's :)
  20. Hi, from what you describe in your post: Have you tried using another SD Card? And you should check if the SD Card you are using is fat32 formatted in your computer and is also a Class 10 card, like it is recommended by Line6. It may be possible you have a corrupt SD Card or a non Class 10 card. Also make sure that you navigate to the root of the SD Card once before you start recording with a new setting and maybe choose another folder for new recordings.
  21. Hi, I don´t really see the point of a Setup or scene just to save effect settings, but it would achieve it this way: 1. Create a scene where you are satisfied with all your settings 2. Save it 3. Change just your FX Settings and do a "Save as" 4. Load your base scene and start over again changing FX settings and do a save as and so on and so on.... As far as I know you can assign the footswitch to change scenes (I think I read something like this somewhere), but I´m not sure at all, since I don´t use the footswitch option.
  22. Hi, 2 things: have you tried navigating to the root of the SD in order to see your Folders in the file explorer of the M20d (suggesting your SD Card will show up in the file explorer)? Have you tried another SD Card? Windows is very forgiving regarding to faulty cards, in opposite of other devices like cameras or in this case the M20D, if you can put in another card, which is also not recognized it´s most likely a hardware issue of the M20d.
  23. Sounds good regarding backup and import so far. Any expiriences recording on SD/USB on imported 1.1 created setups yet?
  24. Can someone please confirm that Setups created and backuped in 1.1 still work fine in 1.2? Or has anybody seen glitches with recordings or channelstrips on imported Setups? Would be nice to read some reports before I destroy our hard worked on Setups during upgrade :) Is there also a new manual explaining new functions? Or at least an add-on to the existing manual?
