Sounds like you will need to send it in and have the service department make an evaluation.

Possible. But I assume that since no problem was found when it was in the shop that was ruled out.

The transmission quality is the same for both V55 and V75 systems.

As you stated before, the systems work when you are at home but have problems at the gig. That would seem to suggest that the wireless units themselves are working properly but that you have a system related problem at the gigs. That can be very difficult to trace. I'm confused a bit as to why the problem seems to happen only in RF1 mode and not RF2 mode. So when you have tried the two modes is it side to side at the same venue at approximately the same time? It's easy to test for distortion on a test bench with a known signal but difficult to understand exactly what is happening with a singer. I'm wondering if something is getting into the mics themselves from the transmitters and that signal is then just being passed through. If it were possible to test a spare channel with a sine wave (about 400Hz of medium level) running through it while all the other channels are operating. Record that channel for a period of time and then analyze it for problems.

Every piece of electronic gear has some noise associated with it. It's called the "signal to noise ratio". Electric guitars don't have particularly great SN ratios (especially single coil models) so they create a lot of junk in the signal. Normally a lot of higher frequency noise from your guitar is actually lost in your guitar cable. But because Relay systems don't lose any of the signal you are now hearing a noise that has been there all along. Does changing the cable models on the Relay make any difference to this noise you are hearing?

How Do You Conect Your Ipad...

Oh yeah ... hard restart, re-install from iTunes and have updates every app that has an update. I would love to roll back but Apple doesn't allow it. -
How Do You Conect Your Ipad...

Seems to be fine with StageScape ... BUT, 8.0x has all but ruined my iPad2. If you haven't switched and have an older ipad or phone I would recommend you don't. My iPad crashes about once an hour. I can now type about 10 characters before any of them show up on the screen and when surfing the net most times the Safari browser only half opens pages. I'm extremely disappointed that Apple would allow such a thing to happen and then restrict you from reloading the older iOS. -
The input too hot warning means that the signal is outside the range that auto-trim can manage. Flip the pad on the Redbox to -26dB.

You will have difficulty if you use any wireless instrument system inside your rack and area also operating an IEM transmitter in that rack. You will need to separate the antennas of the two systems, probably by 10 feet or more. You'll likely need the same separation that your other guitarist has between his G30 and your IEM transmitter. So your best bet would be to either not mount the Relay in the rack but instead put it on the floor, right next to your HD500 or use a G55 and use remote paddle antennas.

There are reasons to use RF2 mode. But you must be in command of the Wi-Fi in the venue to be successful with it. Most users cannot guarantee that so RF1 mode will work better for them. That said ... yes you can mix any XDV/Relay devices up to 14 channels in RF2 mode however only V75's can be assigned to channels 13 & 14.

Can the dealer that you purchased it from help?

Correct ... terminators belong on the antenna outputs.

Stagescape Md20 digital link
dboomer replied to Bonvox's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
The digital information is a proprietary format so your amps would need a driver installed. Have you asked D&B to write such a driver? Possible a hardware box from Line 6 could be developed and then tied to say a Dante system but now it would add considerably to the system cost. -
The only way to get 14 channels is to purchase the 14 channel model.
-
I'm not certain what you mean by"program"? V55s can be switched between RF1 and 2 modes
-
All versions have 12 channels in RF1 mode however
-
TBP12 has multiple versions so it depends on which version you bought. If it is "Relay" branded then only 12 channels are possible. Same way if it is V55 branded. Only the V70/75 versions have 14 channels available to match up with V70/75 receivers.

Joseph It is extremely difficult to troubleshoot a problem like you are describing without actually having the having the Gear right in front of you. On a forum like this you may get some help with hookup or operational issues but if it is a hardware issue it will have to be resolved by the service center. If you think you have a hardware problem then please open a service ticket by clicking on the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page. In order to help here we need a lot more information about your system in addition to more details about how you are operating the wireless units.

It is puzzling. Have you ever performed an RF sweep? It is possible some production equipment or some mechanical equipment at the venue could be having an effect. Not to be argumentative because I do want to correct your issue, but there is no what to evaluate what might be distortion in a singer's voice in an empirical manner. We need to use known test tones. We do lots of testing before a product is released and then ongoing testing to evaluate production runs. We have done lots of multi-channel interaction testing and have never duplicated what seems to be happening on your end. What specific test are you looking for? I can look up the data and let you know. Just curious ... have you ever experienced a problem using the factory supplied mics?

Unfortunately recordings of someone's performance aren't much help. There is no way to know the quality of the signal. If you had recordings of known test tones then it would be much more help. Also mp3s aren't nearly as useful as wav files because they have been processed by a codec.
