Daniel The "whine" issue was caused by a slightly mis-aligned antenna inside the unit. The fix is accomplished by adding a small insulating spacer. I don't know if that is your problem but Dietmar will be happy to check them. I don't think the RF1/RF2 mode has anything to do with that problem but I can't say for certain.

Hi Josep 1- answer is still the same. The LEDs refer to data not sound and it is normal to see them come on and off. With transmitters turned off I expect to see them everywhere i go. 2- Headset mics come in ranges for expected performance. The supplied headset is not really intended for singing but more for speech. Your singer may well be able to overpower it. 3- Wi-fi cannot cause distortion.

XD-V55 Lavalier Plosive issues
dboomer replied to gwbarr's topic in XD-V Digital Wireless Microphones
The Lav mics supplied with XD-V wireless are cardioid models and are more susceptible to popping than omni mics. I suspect your last lavs were omni''s. Each has it's purpose and you may have better luck switching to an omni element. -
Josep It is normal to see red LEDs on the ladder when the transmitters are turned off. They nearly indicate the presence of some rf on those channel frequencies. But remember, the Line 6 transmission is digital so interference doesn't cause distortion it only affects the collection of data into the system. It is a possibility that the analog output section of the receiver could be driven to distortion by a very powerful signal. With V75's the output can be turned down but as you stated this is not an option on the V55 series. If you are operating in RF2 mode you must be able to control the wi-fi in your operating space. RF2 mode uses only 2 channels to receive the data instead of 4 channels as in RF1 mode so it can leave more empty space for wi-fi to operate. Its a very usable system but you must have control to ensure no unintended wi-fi is operating.

Hey Daniel So are you saying that the addition of the second unit causes the problem to start and that there is no problem when only a single unit is operating? As far as the high pitched whine, there was s known issue in a range of production dates. If that's the case that can be corrected. For everyone else ... these issues may be related or may be individual events and not related. It's getting hard to keep them straight. One user says the problem gives away in RF2 mode and another has his problem in RF2 mode.

What is your local requirement for earthing resistance. Usually it's "less than 1 ohm" and you say you are getting better than half of that. I must be missing something here ;)

Hi Ben Which models do you have? Which firmware is installed? Which mode do you have the issues in? On your end ... Checking to see if it happens with just some or all of your systems would be a good idea. Likewise you should check the receivers as well as it could be an issue there. Also does it happen in different venues or just in one?

You can shorten the cable. There will be no affect to the sound or the RF.

Those serial numbers are flashed with V2.x firmware. I'm alsmost certain that your problems are wi-fi related because you are in RF2 mode. Please watch the video again and switch them to RF1 mode.
-
Generally speaking they do fit and work properly. But we have had reports that some do not fit. Apparently if you have a V70 at the short end of its tolerance and a Shure capsule at the short end of its tolerance the contact may not be tight.
-
Do both units have the same turn on sequence? What are the serial numbers? When you say G30, we are talking about complete systems, correct?
-
Have you tried switching them to RF1 mode as recommended above?

If you've shorted the input (with the tin foil) and the noise didn't stop you likely have a hardware issue. You'll need to contact the service department (use contact us link at bottom of the page)
-
The noise is most likely some interaction between the transmitter, the cable and your instrument. You probably don't hear it when using a cable only because the cable cuts the highs so much the hnoise is effectively blocked. Relay wireless is full frequency response so it lets it through. Do you get noise when using a different guitar? Try the transmitter and cable but no instrument. Now take some tinfoil or a paper clip and short the tip to the ring of the 1/4" end. Does the noise go away?

If you are still seeing any green LEDs then the radio is not dropping out. So if the sound is cutting out then there is either an issue with the input to the transmitter or so thing else in the chain is cutting out. Possible the input cable has been damaged. I would try swapping that first.

If the problem only happened in one location it is most likely been caused by local interference in the venue. In RF1 mode you scan by turning off the transmitter and then step through the channels on the receiver for about 20 seconds on each one. You will most likely see some red LEDs on all channels but if you are having sever interference issues then selecting a channel that has the fewest red LEDs will likely work the best. The presence of red LEDS doesn't mean that channel won't work but it means you will have some reduction in range. I don't understand you message about having "both locked". There should be only one selection. A feature of the G90 is that you can use 2pr of antennas at the same time (and then set the switch to both). Just checking, but your antennas are not inside a rack are they? When you hear dropouts do you lose all the green LEDS? Do red ones come on then? Also, I didn't answer your question about being defective. Yes, that is always possible an the only way to check that would be to send it in to our service center. But from your description I don't think that is the most likely possibility.
-
You didn't answer my question about checking the antenna jack assignments. Can you please check? Scanning only functions when you operate in RF2 mode and for most people RF1 mode works better. If you run in RF2 mode you must be in control of all wi-fi in the venue both installed system and any portable systems that others might bring into the venue. If you cannot guarantee this then you could run into trouble easily. Is your transmitter mounted on your guitar strap?
-
Did you try switching to different channels? Are you certain that you have selected the proper antenna pair in the G90 because you must switch to match either front or rear operation. If that's not correct you essentially don't have antennas. How close is your IEM transmitter's antennas to your G90s antennas?

So what's the problem with your system? -
Looking for serial number

No ... that's the receiver's number. The "system" number is on the side of the box. -

When you are using a wi-fi dongle you are operating in "ad-hoc" mode. Apple doesn't allow 5GHz operation in ad-hoc mode so you must use an external router to run at 5GHz. -
can you join two m20d together
dboomer replied to vaud's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Yes, you could use the 1/8" (ch17 & 18) instead of using mic channels, leaving you with 24 XLR mic inputs. Having more monitor outputs depends on what you need to assign to them. You would not have any additional monitor sends that included all 24 mic channels, but if you used the second mixer as an expander for say a couple of groups ( like maybe drums and horns) you could independently send those groups ( up to 4) as independent monitor mixes. You can get very creative here, but it comes at the price of a more complex setup. -
Donavan You given us zero I formation to go on. Have you gone down the troubleshooting list in the FAQ?

About the level drop issue
dboomer replied to lawrence_Arps's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Troubleshooting by remote control is difficult and often frustrating both for us and for the user with the difficulty. It's very difficult to troubleshoot gear problems without having the gear right in front of you. We have spent a lot of time trying to track this reported problem and have never been able to duplicate it in our lab other than the normal changes to gain hat happen by "trim tracking". We would be happy to check out your system. If the problem clears itself by unplugging and re plugging in it is also possible that the issue is with the jack or cable or even the device on the other end of the cable. It is possible that your HD500 has the problem. But until it gets tested all we can do is guess. Please email me directly and let's see if we can get this straightened out. dboomer@line6.com
