New Video - Forgetting the Network
dboomer posted a topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
This should help getting a confused iPad to grab onto the mixer. http://youtu.be/bQXsmIDZ-LU -
Correct. The M20d was never intended to be used as a recording interface. It should be, as you noted, used to capture live performances and then transfer those tracks to a DAW for further processing. From a practical standpoint, the latency of the mixer will likely not be reduced. Some pretty large buffers are required to ensure the live audio performance of the mixer. Think about all the processing that is going on in the mixer compared to what is going on with your typical recording interface. Even some of those to can provide mixing and a few effects don't come anywhere close to the audio processing that is running inside the M20d.

Half way on the control is not half power. You have to understand that the position of the sensitivity control does not affect the potential maximum output of the speakers. It simply aligns them gain-structure wise. Do yourself a favor ... Set them to half and then if you need more output just turn up the mixer. By doing it this way at the point that maximum power is reached you will have the lowest hiss and noise in the system. You also will be in the proper place in the mixer for any of the compression settings in the factory presets. I have some new video tips that should be online tomorrow with a trick to make your system "louder" if that's what you want. Check back tomorrow and I'll post a link.

Read post #33 in the thread. It is a bad practice to put any transmitter in close proximity with any receiver as you are finding out in practice. What firmware rev are you running in both your G90 pieces? Which mode are you running in?
-
That will kill you ;) They MUST all be in the same mode.
-
the G90 is placed near my EW300 reciever for in-ears. I've got a drawer below, so I put the two together so I could actually plug them in on the rear. Would this cause a problem? I imagine it may create RF, but why would I be good to go when close, but not good when I move away? I suspect you mean the EW300 transmitter is near the G90 receiver. as your IEM receiver is probably on your belt. You can't do that. You have the IEM transmitter screaming into the G90's antennas at full power in close proximity. And even though they are not on the same band you will overload the G90's receiver. You'll need to separate the antennas probably by at least 10 feet. Put a pair of paddles on the G90. btw ... Using the Shure cable will be noisier that using the L6 cable. There is a small difference in the way they are wired. There are Premium L6 cables available as well.

L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
dboomer replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
My understanding is that all units shipped from Line 6 starting June 2014 have the new fan. -
The half wave antennas has a couple of dB more gain than the quarter wave and can be used at the end of a cable. Quarter wave antennas must be used directly on the receiver. The quarter wave antenna is a bit shorter and less likely to get kicked when your receiver is on the floor. You could mix them if you wish.
-
I'm guessing your problem if that you are running one or both of your systems in RF2 mode. Make sure they are both running if RF1 mode. That said you you could use one pair of paddles to,run both your receivers as you have outlined.

Any chance it's sitting in a metal tray?

Wifi USB adapter dropping connection

Were there contact instructions with the paperwork? The online store is a third party distribution center and not Line 6 itself. -
Don't know of any compatability issues. Do any of these products come with FCC part 15 warnings ( almost everything digital does). I'm guessing all three do. So it is a possibility. The two best chances of having problems are; 1 the service center was wrong ( or you have an intermittent hardware problem) or 2 your problems mostly occurred in RF2 mode. I'd try switching to RF1 mode and test it for a few hours by itself. If that's fine then with your complete rig. If that's fine then I'd write it off to running in RF2 mode without being able to control all wi-fi in the vicinity. If it doesn't run ok in RF1 mode by itself then I would suspect hardware problems and I would start a service ticket letting Line 6 service check it.

L3t with Electric Guitar
dboomer replied to SpiritSeeker's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
What mode were you using when you loved it with the acoustic? I suspect you may not love the sound of your electric guitar when run in the acoustic mode. It will be a lot like running an electric guitar into an acoustic guitar amp. -
Wifi USB adapter dropping connection

I use the "forget the network" button all the time. iPads just get confused sometimes. It is almost mandatory if you ever use one iPad with multiple mixers or upgraded software. Probably not a bad idea to just do it every once and a while. -
Did Line 6 service say there was nothing wrong or was it an independent shop? If Line 6 gave it a clean bill of health then your problems are probably caused by some interaction with other equipment nearby. Have you ever tried it by itself with no pedalboard or other gear operating? By any chance are you putting the transmitter in your pocket (not a good idea as it can cut the transmitter power in half)?
-
Very little information to go on but the first thing I would suspect is the mic and/or cable. You could check by running without the mic for an hour or two and monitoring the audio for clicks. For that matter you also need to prove out your connecting cables as well. Are the RF LEDs going out? That would indicate a problem with radio reception
-
Steve If you haven't switched them then you are running in RF2 mode. In this mode you must scan for channels and you must be in control of all wi-fi in your venue. If you switch them over to RF1 mode I'll bet your problems will be over.
-
Sounds like you are not getting a representative sample when you perform auto-trim. (Are you performing auto-trim?) If you are way off or things change drastically then the Trim-tracking feature can make up to a 24dB change, which would all but shut down a channel. You should try shutting off the Trim-tracking feature but then if things change wildly during a performance you may get some clipping of those channels.
-
The RF ladder has nothing to do with level or sound quality. It is showing you data errors. As long as you have one LED lit you are fine and have no quality issues. If you are getting too many errors you are having local interference issues I would rarely if ever expect to see them stay full on all the time. The system does not require it and they should be looked at as a method of determining if your antennas are in a good spot. Which mode are you running in? Which antennas are you using? Are you using the antenna pass throughs? How close are the antennas to a wall when you have the problems?

Wifi USB adapter dropping connection

Probably anything that will do DHCP will work, but you do need to use the Apple USB/Ethernet adaptor. I would recommend that you pick one that has the ability to shut off the 2.4G and run on only the 5G. -
That's good news
